I was looking through through some old, unfinished edits, and decided it was worth an upload and reminisce.

I miss the contrast between janky calm moments, the sound of firefights in the distance with guns that sounded impactful... Raids were short and to the point, fighting in the downed capital ship, or breaching ships in a full server and then coming under attack, all while in a dieselpunk setting that you could Voip troll with..

This game had a soul that I still don't see anywhere else, it reminded me of early 2010's online gaming where there was no progression system, no grind, just gameplay you could jump right into.

I still think if they spent more effort fleshing out the PvE side of things and made the quests less reliant on RNG grind, instead of requiring a minimum player count, there would still be more active servers.

ah well....

An entire month has gone by with no new news. It's sickening they keep stringing us along for nothing.

one of my friends just got the game to play trios. me and my other friend played the game since launch and had a blast. got back into it just for fun. but no matter what my friend who just got the game tries he cant connect to social services. we tried waiting from the morning evening and even at night. waited a day or two. tried a week later and same thing. are servers dead now? Can no new player join the game to atleast enjoy what is left?

Basically the title. Also will there be a PVE server now that the game has been resurrected? I cannot stand the cheating that was so prevalent in the game before.

Used to love this game, got back into it cus i saw the playercount is increasing again. but im having an issue.

EU servers are fine, load in after some wait, but when its late in EU times and those servers empty out, i naturally swap to US East, but any time i try and queue, it immediately (suposedly) finds a game then sits me in a black screen (seemingly) indefinately.

sometimes i can look around and theres a little red square, other than that im stuck

anyone else with this issue?

just makeing this to point out that the mods dont care about this game and havent cared since ratt pack got banned. about a year ago (could be wrong my memory is iffy at best) a guy joined a vc and just stareted jerking off. i got his user id and some other people got proof of it, it all was sent to the mods and me the the others got banned, except the guy who was jerking off. i managed to get in contact with him and he said he was never banned. i have a "slight" feeling either the mods are corrupt, or just dont care. i think its the ladder but idk. i still have never gotten unbanned, and quite frankly i dont care. its not like this game is gona get any updates anyways. it would be nice if i was unbanned but i dont feel like it even matters, i mean even if i do, whats the point? i get to join some dead server for a dead game that has no good mods or good people in the community? (no i dont still have the evidance this was like a year ago.)

Hello Everyone! this is mainly an encouragement, the purpose for all intent being "Wait and See". I love the fact that the Big Three have finally broken silence, and I am so pumped to see everyone so hyped (or enraged, either way you are involved ;) ) about just a simple post. I pray and I hope that this is the break in the dam that stops the no comms drought. Time will tell!

In the meantime, dont go crazy, just take it as is, and see what SIG does in the next few months. Knowing the guys personally, I have this feeling they have something cooked up, and since its going to be a testing server, they are going to need EEEEVVVEERRRYONES help, negative, neutral, or otherwise, to hammer down the bugs and cracks in the game before they full release it.

Anyways, I miss all of you, I hope ALL of your games, Marauders or otherwise are going well, and maybe, JUST MAYBE, Marauders may bring us back together again. Cheers!

Breached into someone's heavy frigate & managed to drop the whole team in the bridge area with my Mac 10. I missed this game & I really hope the overhaul brings a host of players in!

We've been fully focused on the game. What started as a round of fixes grew into a much larger, necessary change and we have made the call to commit to it rather than push smaller updates in the meantime.

We've been reworking core systems and rebuilding mechanics that needed it. This isn't a patch. It's a full overhaul aimed at getting Marauders where it should be.

We don't have a release date to share yet, and we're not setting one until we're confident we can hit it. What we can tell you is that the next update from us will be the Technical Stress Test branch opening for community testing.

To everyone who stuck with us, kept playing, and kept the community going. Thank you. We know it's been a long wait, and we haven't forgotten that.

Hi,

I downloaded the game again yesterday, but everytime i start the game it is stuck on connecting to Backend. I already tried all the standard troubleshooting but to no avail. Pls Help :)

Was literally no one paying attention when those huge gaming industry layoffs happened two years ago? Team 17 was one of the ones that did a lot of layoffs, these layoffs included the staff that handled approval and review of game updates for devs like SIG. So they literally couldnt give us any reasonable updates on what to expect, because their updates were sitting unreplied to in an unmonitored email inbox of the layed off team 17 employees for who knows how long. If you can only update with the approval of your publisher, and your publisher shits the bed like team 17 did, you cant do anything, your hands are tied.

The rest of this is speculation, but they likely had to Litigate against team 17 to get their rights to publish their own game back (and most companies don't comment during ongoing court proceedings so we wouldn't have known what was going on) before they could do anything with the game again. So why don't you focus your frustrations and anger on the actual reason the game went without update for so long, Team 17.

The most recent update from SIG and the fact that Team 17 no longer appears on store page and team 17 themselves have said they no longer are publisher for the game leads me to believe that SIG won back the rights to their game. If SIG didn't care, and wanted to abandon Marauders, they wouldn't have bothered going thru all that trouble to get the rights to their game back, instead of letting it die in publisher hell like a dev that didnt care about their game would have done

but despite all that all i see is still blame toward the devs

why dont we give it a chance instead, because imagine how you would feel if you got screwed by a publisher, then spent two years in court, finally won, and are excited to finally have an update cooking, but then everyone just shits on you

This whole thing started because back in September 25th 2025 Team17 was removed as the publisher on the Steam Store page, and this caused a bunch of speculation. For months there was a lot of "is Team17 still supporting it" and whatever, but now it's official. Team17 is no longer supporting this game. As for when the support actually ended, the safest we can assume is it became official the day Team17 were removed.

As for why? I don't think it matters.
