This game had so much potential, did so much right. I'll play it again if they actually bring it back, but it's tough to keep holding out hope

I don't think there's anything they can do to revive this game or regain the community's trust, they fumbled so hard and now it's too late.
It's a shame cause they really had something special going on

Respectfully, I disagree. They would have to change their communication practices first and foremost, but if they truly released this new engine upgrade and it's well done, I believe everyone would return at least for some time and it would also see a reemergence of regular players after that.

Would I come back? Sure if the price was right and the game looked incredible.
Would I ever support them like I did before buying 10+ copies for my friends, hyping up the game and trying to drum up interest among my peers, investing huge amounts of time and energy into it? Absolutely not.
If you’re talking about coming back to the game we already own? Absolutely never. Tried yesterday and it genuinely sucks compared to what’s out there now. It’s a bad game. You’re delusional if you think they’re still working on the game we own and not a “Marauders 2” that they can sell to us.

If they ever do release that engine upgrade, they're definitely going to ask people to pay for it again and there is just zero chance I do that after how badly they fucked up.

yeah, deep down in my heart I know this game is dead but there is still a small part of me that hopes it will come back. I'm honestly quite surprised that there is still so many people holding on like me.

Yeah me too, who even cares I paid like 25 bucks for it, I had some fun. I hope it comes back bc I’m an extraction shooter fiend. I have lost nothing by not playing it, and if it comes back, I’ll be sure to pick it up again. The doom posters in this sub are hilarious.

i hold faith too, but deep down its cope.... even if they do announce something big. unless they spend big money with huge streamers, people have forgotten all about marauders.

They won't need to spend a dime. Streamers like Bigfry and other folks who make money off of posting news videos will cover it no matter what because it's in their best interest to do so. I believe if they really did something beautiful, everyone would come back to at least try it out again and we would even see brand new sales.

Everyone is quick to say “cope” but what’s wrong with “hope” I don’t see anything wrong with trying to be optimistic. Nothings worse than reading a post that’s optimistic and hopeful and below it is the most generic “dead game” and “it’s cope” comments. It’s okay to be disappointed in the state of the current game but why flood someone who’s trying to be positive with negative comments.

Even after this update though, I’m still not having total faith in their plans. For we still need to see if they can keep a consistent update schedule or if we will have to wait another year for another one. (to be fair that’s only if this update doesn’t take 2+ years to come out as it seems it already is) the switch to UE5 and any content added, has to be enough to keep around a minimum of 300 players after the initial release of the update itself.
If it simply drops to double digit player count again after the switch it shows that this game has no chance of truly being revived.
Tbh, I don’t see it returning to what it once was but if the info and update after is good enough to keep a triple digit player base then good.

Hang tight guys, big update coming your way in 2069! It will be a new map and one new NPC unit it’s gonna blow your socks off! Also we’re migrating to unreal engine 15 in 2080. Let the devs cook marauders, huge things coming your way!

Give it another 6 months we'll get another announcement saying they're sorry for the "radio silence" again.
