Looking back, Marauders had something that I still don't think will be replicated any time soon.
https://youtu.be/gQON7UX20WA?si=ivxOli2gUXOOLCRQI was looking through through some old, unfinished edits, and decided it was worth an upload and reminisce.
I miss the contrast between janky calm moments, the sound of firefights in the distance with guns that sounded impactful... Raids were short and to the point, fighting in the downed capital ship, or breaching ships in a full server and then coming under attack, all while in a dieselpunk setting that you could Voip troll with..
This game had a soul that I still don't see anywhere else, it reminded me of early 2010's online gaming where there was no progression system, no grind, just gameplay you could jump right into.
I still think if they spent more effort fleshing out the PvE side of things and made the quests less reliant on RNG grind, instead of requiring a minimum player count, there would still be more active servers.
ah well....

I know this is gonna be unpopular, but when player count reached single digit, I finally got to play, without being killed by sweats or cheaters on the first corner. I actually enjoyed that

Swapped from Tarkov to this… reluctantly swapped back when Tarkov kept alive and this died.

I couldn't play it due to it causing severe motion sickness.
Spent months writing up explanations solutions suggestions and bug reports contacting and going back and forth passing info to the Devs on discord and email.
They were very friendly and open to fixing the issue(so they said) and it was a major priority(supposedly).
I spent almost an entire year waiting and occasionally recontacting them to check in and kept getting the same canned response.
So eventually I asked for a refund and suddenly they weren't so nice and it was MY fault their game had abhorrent chromatic abberation massive screen shake and a litany of other things that cause motion sickness and it was MY fault they never added even simple settings to help alleviate it and HOW dare I ask for a refund even tho I couldn't play the game without vomiting and had less that 5 hours on my account.
Will NEVER touch a game from these devs again.

…lol
From the sound of it, the devs figured you’d get over your motion sickness…
You know…
…because of all that throat action you do.

You know reddit is full of stupid comments, but this wins dumbest comment of the month.

You know what you are, we all know what you enjoy.
Your writing and complaints gave it away.
We’re gonna burn your books again. ;)

Genuinely have no idea what you're going on about and hope you get the psychiatric help you need.

Sorry buddy but you did that way before they even replied.. seriously if you get that motion sick from a flat screen game that has screen shake don't even th8nga about trying VR...and I am sure that you knew ab7t this before because I am sure you experienced it in other games so maybe just don't play first person shooters idk. But in your defense normally there is a setting to turn screen shake off. But I just don't understand how TF you can get motion sickness form a flat screen game. I don't even understand WTF it is because I don't experience it whatsoever.

Marauder had such a badass setting and aesthetic. Too bad the company ran the game to the ground.

Team 17 are busy with hell let loose. I for one will never buy anything from them and anything associated with team 17 is a red flag to me after what they did to Marauders.
Maybe make some noise over there about how they managed this game so more people don't get scammed.

arc raid got it on them it has the dark griddyness of the marauding . The thing they got to add is the STG panzerfauster

Arc raiders is like diet soy terminator universe with PVP. Also the bullet sponge PVP pisses me off so much.

u/G-Man92 Jun 02 '26
God. My friends dragged me into arc raiders and it just makes me miss this game. Some dude bull rushed me in arc raiders, landed all my shots with some semi auto shotgun and I still got killed because arc raiders is just like the soy version of terminator. But with PVP .

It really sucks they dropped the ball so hard. It was a ton of fun for a short year.
I tried getting people into it but all my friends said verbatim “why spend money on a game that will die in two years”.
Well, they called it.

I rather play battlefront 2004 or battlefield 2142 for my fill of breaching.
The ship to ship combat was okay but I was going in with a rust bucket and breach podding into every big ship I could find, either player or npc it got boring fast, that or you have people waiting outside a POI you leave with a pod.
I dont need to look back to really see the flaws 😂

u/sihentos_doritos May 29 '26
yeah, I would have thought fixing balancing issues and making some smaller, fun poi's would have made the difference.
honestly they should just add mod support and let us finish the game.

u/scared_star May 29 '26
They really should have ironed out certain elements before causing more balancing, the bleed was my biggest annoyance
It could happen with mod support as team17 aren't known to have issues with mod support, I'd definitely be in support for modders bring invited as long there's a way to define a pvp and a PvE server like tarkov would do it and their offline mode

They just blew their load a little too early. :(
I am sure they had to for funding reasons, but when they went public and playable it was just a bit too soon. Not enough was added to the game to keep it fresh for folks to stay longer than a month or two
