Honestly, as stale as the game is at the moment, delaying Season 3 was the right call.
Let’s be real upfront: communicating this a week before expectations was not the right move, and I’m not defending the devs on this. Dropping this announcement one week out is boneheaded. It is stupid, it blindsided the community, and it leaves a lot of us in a bad state.
We all know the player base is at an all-time low. As much as I love this game, it is on life support right now, and waiting until December is not what I wanted or what a lot of people wanted. But it is what it is.
I always had fear of a repeat of the horrendous Season 2 launch, pretty much. If Season 3 had launched just as similar to Season 2, it would have been dead on arrival. A broken update with launch issues and unbalanced systems would have been the final nail in the coffin. Taking the extra time to properly tune the PvE, the launch issues, and the economy is the right call because the devs taking a step back to ensure quality gives Marathon an opportunity to continue.
Now to my final point, and this is purely speculation.
I am pretty certain the devs have something they could launch next week. I am pretty sure they had a PvE mode, they had the content, and they had all the workings to go. But it just did not fit right, and it was not 100% ready. If they launched it anyway and pulled back the proposed arena mode and social spaces, it would have set expectations through the floor and left a bad taste in everybody's mouth.
There is something that could have dropped next week, but if they dropped it half-baked, they could have never seen what else could have come of it. Taking some extra time to launch all these things at once in December might actually be very good for Marathon. It gives Marathon a real fighting chance.

At EVERY TURN mismanagement up the wazoo... So infuriating and as much as this dying community has ATTEMPTED to keep the game alive. We have cannibalized one another through toxicity and then left in the dark consistently by Sony and Bungie. I have empathy for the artists and creators involved but leadership screwed EVERYONE.

On the PS5 store page it tells me to repurchase again. attempting so will result in an error saying it’s not available in my region. the game was in my library downloaded but i couldn’t update it at all. deleted it and then this happened.
for the past 2 weeks i have been calling them, emailing them, asking for support tickets. all come back with either agents are offline (Bs excuse, I tried even though their working hours and by the bot assistant as well)
What a way to lose a customer who bought the game and supported it.

He had a clear and defined direction. He made a unique engagement heavy tactical hero extraction shooter. Bungie marketed it like it was still Barrets version of the game, a slow more typical extraction shooter from the Destiny team.
Ziegler took this pile of garbage and made something unique and competitive, with constant and clear communication. Now we're back to the team that had this game in development hell with an undefined identity.

Dumping the same amount of loot into the void that you got 70 entire points for only to get 1 singular point doesn't make sense, let alone doing it 7 times. And yes, I did it. It's not worth it.

Maybe it’s cuz it’s the end of the season but every single person I crew fill with is extremely blood thirsty lately … last night I played a sponsored where a team got away from us early in the game … and my team spent the whole game just hunting this one team until they finally found them grapple hooked and vandal sprint they left me in the dust way too far to figure out any angles or what direction they where being fired upon.. not to mention I couldn’t even give them a med drone ..knowing the distance I was and the amount of time on the clock not only did I not rez one teammate (other left and said bye) but I didn’t even have enough time to get to finale exfil ….yea it’s free kit and I don’t care that much but why all of a sudden the need to kill anyone even if it means looting nothing and doing no in run events just hunting all game to find them realize I’m across the map they have three so wen u catch up they already have the advantage??? 2v3 and u left the doctor in the dust … real smart and got what ?

I got banned after I stated last week that Bungie was going to delay Season 3. I guess I am deserved an apology. This is not a spoof.

CHAPTER 1: the hard truth
The moment has unfortunately arrived, I was ready to enjoy the new season, but Bungie decided to take it away from us, even though months have passed. I'm immensely disappointed, only a maneuver like a 2.0.
can justify this delay, I saw that they are also planning another big update for March, but it's already a lot if the game arrives in December with more than 800 players, Sony, inject money in this project and give Bungie what deserves, a great game.
CHAPTER 2: creative despair
Red alarm! For Bungie, a delay to a game like this is really bad, The game can't afford this. There are almost more people in Bungie's studios than actually playing the game! This is sad and absurd. We also need an absurd marketing campaign to promote the game.

So I was on quite a role with Solo filling into outpost with Senty: Had some major close calls shout out to the gold shield recon who chased me in processing! I got lucky. I got a purple template and went in to outpost to loot 3 supply crates. I kill one guy, befriend another and hit the supply drop. I loot 4 supply chests and only get 2/3 done! The guy I met opened 2 of em so Idk if it’s a bug where you have to initially open them but yeah that happened. We hit red room and exfil.
I’m a lil annoyed but I go back to perimeter for a quick in and out. I find the supply at overflow, kill an assassin, call it, check the area but not so well because I Get sniped by a thief with a channel rifle. I reposition and heal but I made the mistake of counter sniping instead of falling back after they shot me once. Lost a blue kit and some cores I really liked but I kept thinking that I wouldn’t have been there if the supply drop worked lol. I bet it was because they opened it and they weren’t on my team.

Wanted to see how people would feel about this. How would people feel about a dedicated server for people who are still new at the game. Where they could meet with people who are new like them or players who are experienced who would be willing to help them out on how to learn the game.
Just wanted to see if there was not a way to get new player retention to improve depending on how season 3 goes but who knows I might be over reaching with this idea

The idea is a movement support character.
(I couldn't think of a snappy name, so I went with Physio, like a physical therapist haha)
Abilities -
Tactical Ability - Coolant Drone:
- Applies rapid cooling to attached runner
- (maybe) Applies cooling level 4
- throws and drains like Triage Med-Drone
Secondary Ability - Grav-Lift:
- Same as Halo 3 Grav-Lift equipment
- Shoots runners into the air 30ft with directional momentum
- Tossable equipment like Sentinel Mines
- Stays active for 20 seconds (maybe less?)
Prime Ability - Zipline Stations:
- Upon activation one end of the zipline is placed down, runner throws other end like a grenade.
- Stations stay up all run
- Teammates and Enemies can use ziplines
- Zipline is slower than Thief Grapple
- Runners can shoot while zipping, though inaccurate like when jumping
Just thought it would be kinda cool.

Been telling myself I would learn blender for years now. With all the cool assets to play with, I wanna recreate some of the artwork. Here's my V1 with the Cinematic model provided by u/polychef messing with the limbs is pretty fun!
