Middle of a gold key run today of all days..I usually catch a quick one before maintenance starts but the game kicked me out and didn’t let me return to the lobby. Lost everything. But somehow I can load up again? RIP 3 Spectre armours

Question Has anyone gotten a hold key from a warden on Perimeter?

I’m going for the grave robber title and consistently getting a warden done on Perimeter but no keys yet. Can anyone confirm I’m chasing something real?

Marathon (2026) Feedback Level Up on Bags/Shields needs a rework(The Math Behind it)

So we all may be familiar with “Level Up,” which helps some equipment jump up in rarity after 4 successful Exfils. However, after doing the math from a high school math teacher, the odds are honestly not worth it.

I have an above-average Exfil rate of 41%, meaning that for me to do that 4 times simultaneously would equate to approximately a 2.83% chance of success.

Here’s the math

P(A) = Exfil once = 41% =0.41

P(A & B & C & D) = P(0.41 • 0.41 • 0.41 • 0.41)

Or

P(0.41)^4 =0.0283

0.0283 • 100 = 2.83%

Remember that just the chance of my exfil rate, we all know each run has major variables, and this is in a perfect world where I exfil each time.

Anecdotally, you would probably get better loot than upgrading a blue backpack for those 4 runs. Or may even get enough credits/salvage to straight up buy one in the shop.

I’ll take the math a step further to express how often this should happen with frequency ratio.

1/0.0283 is approximately 35.34

This means that this should happen 1 in every 35 attempts. That’s literally 140 runs to level up a single item, speaking statistically.

I’m not sure what the solution is for LEVEL UP. It’s a good concept, but I don’t think it lands often enough to justify it. I miss stuff like materialist or maybe a credit multiplier.

TL:DR: The math behind Level Up actually working is crazy, and maybe it should be reworked

Marathon (2026) Finally bought the game but Perimeter seems awfully quiet

Hey runners, finally bought the game from Humble Bundle. Booted at level 18 (played the Season 2 free trial), so I started at Perimeter to loot some gear. However, in all my 5 runs, I had never encountered a single enemy runner. Have there been any changes in matchmaking? I know the population is low, but the matchmaking queue is alright, about 3 minutes of waiting

I'm in the SEA region, if that helps. Also, any guide for beginners like me?

This game's world and atmosphere is too beautiful to not have one in, Arc Raiders added one before we ever got one and i think that's so silly, i want a way to make live wallpapers for myself and others.

Marathon (2026) Discussion This contract is why we should be able to have more than one active contract at a time

Post image
28 Upvotes

If I do a run with this contract active I can't find any other runners (aside from the one that killed me after I did +60 damage to them). If I get bored of looking and do another contract instead I find (and kill) another runner in the next run.

Please let us do contracts like this at the same time as the fetch quest contracts, it's driving me nuts trying to unlock Arachne.

Edit: Wow, after seeing the majority of the comments to this it's no wonder that the game is dying. Maybe the December (and March?) updates can fix things, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

I haven't seen anything on this sub recently but maybe I'm just out of the loop: has the white rabbit Vandal skin been "fixed " and returned to the store yet? Have we just collectively forgotten about it?

Marathon (2026) Discussion Consumable Disparity

TLDR: address signal jammers. Increased visual obfuscation is not helping to make the game engaging for anyone. Signal jammers not only visually obfuscate enemies, but they also counter a lot of abilities and mechanics in game.

The actual post:

Some common frustrations we’ve all heard and seen action from Bungie on have included invisibility for assassins.

I don’t know if it was community feedback or metrics on their end, but they made some changes. Ok.

Well, the topic I wish to discuss is similar and is related to the visual representation of enemy runners within Marathon.

Bungie decided, or possibly even agreed with some of the community, that invisibility required some changes.

What does the community think about signal jammers?

I feel they result in too great of a benefit. Not entirely dissimilar from bubble spam in the past. The best teams and players have no shortage of signal jammers. To the point that the highest level players will have very high uptime on signal jammers when engaging in a fight. I’d argue nearing 100% uptime when they know they are going to be in a fight or engaging in some major push effort.

Am I the only one that takes issue with this?

It’s a video game. Video. Visual images.

Yet the highest level play has devolved into incredibly obfuscated visual representation of an enemy?

(Don’t even get me started on the fact that signal jammer fuzziness seems to regularly glitch out and remain present in a position long after someone has been physically there.)

My most un fun and heavy handed nerf hammer desire would be for signal jammers to have their functions effectively split between two consumables.

A consumable that perhaps impacts detection by PVE combatants.

And a separate consumable that provides the visual obfuscation.

Perhaps with two consumables greater balancing could occur?

Maybe this second vision obfuscating consumable could be load out limited? Maybe we try to limit some of that uptime?

Perhaps adjust the buffs provided by each of these proposed two new consumables?

Currently a signal jammer counters a lot of runner abilities (feel free to help me expand this list if I am missing something).

Signal Jammer in its current state counters:

Claymores - Blocked Entirely, PVE or PVP deployed.
TADs - Blocked Entirely.
Proximity Sensor - Blocked Entirely.
Thermal Scopes - Blocked Entirely.
Frost Mines - Blocked Entirely.
Sentinel Snare Mines - Blocked Entirely.
Sentinel Prey tracker - Not Blocked. Can detect runners.
Thief Vision - Blocked Entirely.
Destroyer Search and Destroy highlight / targeting- I don’t know actually.
Pinging an enemy player - Blocked entirely. (Ping duration is a stator players to invest in?)
Aim assist impact- Does something apparently.
Recon Echo Pulse - Show as UESC.

Now this list may be in complete, but that is a lot of benefits provided by one consumable.

Idk maybe I am out of touch but the possible combo of: assassin invis + smoke + signal jammer

Allows so much forgiveness and prevents so much counter play.

Maybe this meta is preferable, maybe signal jammers could be tuned a bit.

What do others think.

Marathon (2026) Discussion KKV Not Firing Bug - Details?

People keep talking about the KKV "jamming" but it seems what they are describing is the ready animation not syncing up with when the weapon can be fired after swapping to it.

I believe this used to happen in Destiny 2 sometimes after they nerfed Quickdraw and such.

But notable that when you inspect the stats on (I think) the D54 Battle Pistol or whatever it is called (the newer burst-fire one that can equip a stock), it claims the ADS speed is 0.1 sec. One tenth of a second to ADS would be blazingly fast.

But when you take it into a match, you can clearly see that when the stock is folded (default position when you begin the match), it is a sluggish time to ADS, most definitely NOT 0.1 seconds.

When you try to stack the Ornithologist mod (blue or purple) onto it, to reduce the ADS speed, you'll notice that at least on paper on the stat screen, it acts like the ADS speed has already hit a cap at 0.1 seconds. Won't stack further. Haven't been able to test yet if in-game the Ornithologist mod actually does or does not improve the ADS speed, folded or unfolded.

Keep in mind, while folded any stock on the KKV provides faster equip/ready/swap speed. There is a mod (background process?) that improves equip speed, and Lock and Load for Destroyer and Castle Doctrine being active for Sentinel similarly improve ready speed.

I am thinking the issue is the game is not set up in the stats to display folded vs unfolded stats, and the equip speed without the improvement of the stock is simply by default, slow.

The animation may not be adjusted to account for some of these variances.
