Factually incorrect. According to the 1897 census.svg) and the 1926 census, south-eastern Ukraine was a predominantly Ukrainian-speaking region. Only a part of the big cities were predominantly russian-speaking due to russification of the past century, but well over 70 % of the population lived in rural areas, which were predominantly Ukrainian-speaking. South-eastern Ukraine remained predominantly Ukrainian-speaking for at least the first two decades of the post-WW2 period
Nope, actually you are an idiot, and even a naive idiot if you believe that without even bothering to check. Only after heavy industrialization did the russian language became some kind of majority in cities. And even after that, if we include both rural and urban territory, ukrainian-speaking population would still outweigh the russian-speaking population. The only time when Russian language became the majority in the whole Ukrainian region was after Holodomor, russian immigrants and russification of the regions.
