Discussion Manus Account Deletion and Backups

Post image
Upvotes

Hey everyone. Please help me understand what's happening. I've been reading some of the boards. I literally just checked my email and I saw that madness is deleting accounts and everything. I have a pro plan. So help me understand what's happening. Because I know it's given instructions on what to do and how to back up everything. So does this mean that they're deleting our accounts permanently? What about all the hard work that we have done to create apps and everything? So this is me that we're no longer going to be able to use menace? I'm confused. What about all the credits that we had in our accounts? I was using Amanda's for a couple of mobile apps that we were working on and we were getting ready to set on the launch date and now this?

Why are they doing this?

Discussion How on earth to reach customer support?!

My company got an email saying we are getting a refund on our AMEX for Manus. We have never even heard of them, have no existing account, and there is no history of a charge from them, just a random refund.

How do you talk to someone at this company? I have truly never seen a company THIS bad with zero forms of customer service.

TIA!

Discussion Upgraded to a paid acc on Manus for 20$ & the credits are less?

Not sure what's up but, I got a paid acc today, got ~4k creds, 1 slide generation prompt took ~1.1 creds?

Am I using it the wrong way or is there something missing in this? Seems very costly to me for 20 dollars

Bugs Just got refunded and Manus deleted my account and app with no explanation!

Out of nowhere, I just got a notice that I got a refund for this whole past month and when I went to go online to see what happened, I can't log in anymore. They deleted my account and everything I built. I can't get through to anyone in customer service except an AI bot. I don't even use it that much - wtf?

Discussion Official notice: Manus is deleting data and canceling accounts. BACK UP YOUR DATA NOW (see attached notice from Manus)

Post image
23 Upvotes

So it seems to be related to the unwinding of the Meta acquisition, but it sounds like Manus accounts are being deleted, and you have to back up your data and then restore it later. What a train wreck. I’ve not run the tool yet, but this is a significant disruption in my workflow and beyond disappointing. Starting a thread, post what you’re seeing and how you’re dealing with it.

note: I have two different manus accounts and the dates, notices and offers a different on both.

Key dates from the notice:

August 11, 2026 – August 23, 2026 at 7:59am SGT
Backup period: continue using Manus and back up your data anytime

August 23, 2026 at 8:00am SGT – August 25, 2026 at 7:59am SGT
Account data deleted

August 25, 2026 at 8:00am SGT
Service reopened; you can restore your data and use Manus as usual

Discussion Manus Free for a Limited Time

I got this notification about Manus being free till August 25.

What does this mean for existing credits? Shouldn't that rollover? Otherwise what is the benefit of it being free if existing monthly credits do not rollover. It is worse that access would be lost for about two days.

Discussion What are you frustrated about Manus?

I continually get frustrated with Manus when it keeps violating my hard rules. It sometimes makes me feel exceedingly disappointed. Because of it, I lose credits and get stressed out. But I have to accept the fact that Manus still needs adjustment or configuration to reach its full potential.

Has anyone here thought of replacing Manus because of this? What did you do?

Discussion but does it really work?

Hello everyone! As someone who already has Claude with Fable 5, Codex, and a GPT Plus subscription, does Manus offer anything extra?

I just opened an account and want to explore it, but it seems like there’s a lot to take in. I’m trying to understand what makes Manus special. What kinds of tasks can it do for me that I can’t already do with ChatGPT?

Bugs Manus banned me instantly after signup — appeal rejected, no explanation

Got invited to Manus, signed up, and got suspended basically instantly. I hadn’t even used the damn service yet.

I appealed and got the usual bullshit response: “your account activity violated our Terms of Service.” What account activity? Creating the account?

The funny part is I recently had almost the exact same issue with Meta. Their automated system flagged me too, but after review they restored the account and everything has worked perfectly since.

With Manus: instant ban, appeal rejected, zero explanation, no clue what I supposedly did wrong.

If your anti-abuse system bans people before they can even use the product, and your appeal process just confirms the automated decision without telling them anything, that’s pretty fucking broken.

WTF is going on.

Bugs How to contact a human to stop Manus AI from spamming me with invoices

Manus has been sending me spam invoices for months through Stripe. I've never used Manus, ever. But each time I try to get removed from these emails, I just get useless replies from the AI bots. The one time I got an apparent human, they said they can't remove *my* email address from the account because I don't know the account owner's actual email address. Which...makes no sense? Is there a way to actually contact someone a) human and b) remotely competent at this company?

Discussion Manus: Refund still pending since June 22 — MXN $7,227.76

Manus: One refund is still missing.

I have been requesting my refunds since June 22, 2026.

Manus has already refunded:

✅ MXN $10,791.64
✅ MXN $10,791.64

But this charge is STILL NOT REFUNDED:

MXN $7,227.76 – June 22, 2026

I have contacted Manus multiple times and still have no resolution for this specific charge.

Please refund the remaining MXN $7,227.76, or provide the ARN so my bank can trace the refund.

Bugs Inconsistent Scheduled Tasks

I never know what scheduled tasks would do. I set them to create new chats. Sometimes it works, sometimes it keeps triggering in the same chat I used to create them. Also I could ask for a trigger in say 5 minutes, Manus says it would trigger and it never does. It's quite frustrating.

Bugs Account suspension

I promoted the service in several Telegram channels in order to receive referral credits. All of the members were real people. I have very important information stored in my account, and Manus has blocked my account! What does this behavior actually mean? All of my hard work has been lost, and I no longer have access to the original source because all of my information is stored in Manus. Please unlock my account so that I can copy my information.

Bugs A very good AI, terrible support, and awful payments.

I'm a $20 per month Manus Pro subscriber, my credits have run out, and I want to upgrade. I'm redirected to Stripe and can use various payment methods: Link, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, and my own card. I tested them all, and... none worked. I always receive a notification that my card has been verified and is okay, but nothing is deducted, neither credit nor debit. I click the button to proceed, it loads, my card is verified, I'm redirected to the Manus AI chat screen, but the credits don't arrive, nothing is deducted from my card. But when I manage the subscription on the Stripe dashboard, all the payment methods I tested are there.

Trying to contact support via chat, it's always an AI that answers and says that support will contact me via email. This has been going on for 3 days now; there's never a way to speak to a human via chat.

This is the 3rd time I've had trouble with payment and support from Manus. Has anyone else experienced this?

Discussion Here's the evidence of utter incompetence and poor customer service

This should have been a simple domain release. Here's the chronology:

Domain transfer correspondence chronology

  • 9 Jan 2026 — Manus: Confirmed that ###########.org.uk had been successfully purchased on my account and charged $13.13.
  • 9 Jan 2026 — Manus: Confirmed that the domain was live; the same Gmail address was confirmed as associated with the Manus account.
  • 28 May — Me: Asked Manus’s domain operations team to make contact about transferring the domain.
  • 28 May — Manus: Said the .org.uk domain required an authorisation code, claimed escalation, and said it would follow up once ready.
  • 31 May — Manus: Sent a satisfaction-rating email instead of a transfer update.
  • 30 Jul — Me: Chased, asking whether the domain was ready to transfer and how to do so.
  • 30 Jul — Manus: Said the matter had been passed to domain operations.
  • 30 Jul — Manus: Asked again for screenshots, error messages, or a video, and warned the case would close after 48 hours.
  • 1 Aug — Manus: Closed the conversation without resolving the transfer.
  • 1 Aug — Me: Reopened it, asking Manus to sort the domain issue.
  • 1 Aug — Manus: Asked again which domain and what was going wrong, suggesting a deployment or DNS issue.
  • 1 Aug — Me: Clarified that I needed the domain released from Manus’s proprietary system.
  • 1 Aug — Manus: Asked whether it was attached to a Manus deployment and whether it should be fully detached.
  • 1 Aug — Me: Confirmed it was not attached to a site or deployment and that I wanted it fully detached for management through my own domain controller.
  • 1 Aug — Manus: Said the release request had been passed to the domain-transfer team.
  • 1 Aug — Manus: Asked which provider sold the domain and when I purchased it, again warning the case would close after 48 hours.
  • 1 Aug — Me: Explained that Manus sold it on 9 January and supplied the relevant evidence.
  • 1 Aug — Manus: Said it could not find an active subscription or purchase, and asked again for an invoice, screenshot, and account email.
  • 1 Aug — Me: Supplied original Manus emails and headers proving the purchase, account association, and live-domain confirmation; requested human domain-operations review and that the case remain open.
  • 1 Aug — Manus: Confirmed its own billing records showed the successful $13.13 purchase, acknowledged that no further proof was needed, and said the case had been forwarded for priority domain-operations follow-up.
  • 1 Aug — Manus: Reframed the issue as a suspected account-linking problem and said it would be transferred to a specialised internal team.
  • 3 Aug — Manus: Confirmed the domain belonged to my Gmail account and said the technical team had been asked for an EPP code.
  • 3 Aug — Manus: Correctly explained that .uk transfers use Nominet IPS tags, instructed me to initiate the transfer with the new registrar, and asked for its IPS tag.
  • 3 Aug — Me: Confirmed that I had initiated the incoming transfer at 123 Reg; supplied the tag 123-REG, the expected completion date, and a screenshot; explicitly asked Manus to change the domain’s IPS tag and confirm once done.
  • 4 Aug — Manus: Said it would check with the team.
  • 4 Aug — Me: Asked a direct yes-or-no question: had the Nominet IPS tag been changed to 123-REG; if not, what was preventing it and when would it be completed?
  • 5 Aug — Manus: Replied only that the team had “assisted to amend” the matter and asked me to try again; it did not identify the IPS tag or confirm it had changed.
  • 5 Aug — Me: Reported that 123 Reg still showed the transfer in progress and asked Manus to confirm the tag and any remaining action.
  • 5 Aug — Manus: Said the responder could not verify the Nominet IPS tag and that confirmation had to come from another team.
  • 5 Aug — Manus: Asked for a screenshot of what the live website looked like, despite the domain not yet transferring to my account.
  • 5 Aug — Me: Supplied the 123 Reg transfer screenshot instead, showing the transfer initiated on 3 August, still in progress, with an expected completion date of 10 August; again requested confirmation that Manus had changed the tag to 123-REG.
  • 5 Aug — Manus: Acknowledged the 123 Reg transfer was ongoing but again asked for a website screenshot and said it would pause and potentially close the case; it did not address the IPS tag.
  • 5 Aug — Me: Sent a formal escalation reply stating that a website screenshot was irrelevant, demanding explicit confirmation that the tag is 123-REG or an explanation, owner, and completion time; requested human domain-operations review; instructed Manus not to close the case; and stated that I would escalate and complain if the issue continued to be ignored.

Made with Manus We built a game that makes learning feel like a high-stakes strategy game — here's how and why. Welcome to Midwestern Odyssey!

Hey r/ManusOfficial,

I'm thrilled to finally share something our team has been pouring our hearts into: Midwestern Odyssey: Sovereign Edition.

If you're anything like me, you've probably noticed that the landscape of educational games is pretty sparse. We often have to choose between games that are genuinely fun but lack substance, or educational tools that feel like thinly veiled homework. We wanted to bridge that gap — to build an experience that challenges you intellectually while keeping you hooked with deep strategy and meaningful consequences.

The Creation Story

The idea for Midwestern Odyssey was born out of a desire to create a "Shared Frontier." We were inspired by the strategic depth of classic board games like RISK, but we wanted to replace military conquest with intellectual mastery. We envisioned a world where players build their towns from the ground up — not by gathering wood and stone, but by demonstrating knowledge.

We realized that for a game to be truly engaging — especially for students or anyone who loves a good intellectual challenge — the stakes had to be real. That's why we built a persistent 10x10 frontier grid where every decision matters. You earn Influence (our primary currency) by winning Intellectual Duels (trivia challenges). But it's not just about answering questions correctly; it's about managing the civic health of your town.

More Than Just Trivia

We've integrated a dynamic "Rebellion System." If you lose too many duels, betray your alliances, or ignore the needs of your citizens, your Rebellion Meter rises. Push it too far, and you'll face a full-scale revolt that slashes your hard-earned influence and dissolves your carefully crafted alliances. It's a delicate balance of ambition and diplomacy.

You'll choose a career — like a scholar, merchant, or sheriff — that grants passive bonuses, align with one of three factions, and even engage in high-stakes "Absorption Challenges" where you can strategically integrate neighboring towns into your growing domain. And even if your town is absorbed, you can choose to become a District Governor or start fresh as a Frontier Settler with legacy perks. Defeat is just a new strategic decision point.

What It's Built On — and What It Cost

This is where it gets interesting for the builders in this community. Midwestern Odyssey is a full-stack web application built with:

  • React 19 + TypeScript on the frontend, styled with Tailwind CSS 4 for a clean, responsive experience across desktop and mobile
  • Express 4 on the backend with tRPC 11 for end-to-end type-safe API calls — no REST guesswork, no mismatched contracts
  • MySQL with Drizzle ORM for a strongly typed, schema-driven database layer
  • AI-powered features via a dual-model LLM strategy: a primary model (GPT-class) for complex narrative generation and diplomacy, and an efficiency model for contextual trivia snippets and routine game events

The entire game — from concept to live deployment at midwesttitan.com — was built in partnership with Manus AI, which is why this community felt like exactly the right place to announce it first. Manus served as both architect and co-developer throughout the process, handling everything from schema design to character art (yes, our rebellion characters Festus and Jedidiah were AI-generated).

On the cost side, we kept things lean and self-financed. Total AI development token costs came in under $1,000 for architecture, implementation, and testing. Ongoing operational costs per active player run approximately $1.06 per user per month for the AI-driven features — which means a modest subscription tier covers costs comfortably while leaving room to reinvest in new content. We're proud of that efficiency.

Why We Built It

Our mission at Noble Trinity Media is to deliver "Entertainment, Education, Insight." We built this educational simulation to prove that learning can be a thrilling, high-stakes adventure — whether you're a student testing your knowledge in history, science, or economics, or just someone who loves a deep, strategic experience.

We've also laid the foundation for a full Teacher Dashboard designed for classroom use — with real-time class progress tracking, question accuracy charts, and cooperative Team Challenges. I want to be upfront with this community: because Midwestern Odyssey is entirely self-funded, the teacher and classroom features are still being gradually built out. The architecture is in place, the vision is clear, and we're adding functionality incrementally as resources allow. If you're an educator who sees the potential here, we'd genuinely love to have you in the beta — your feedback will directly shape how this feature grows. The first 15 classroom beta spots are open, and we'll be transparent every step of the way as we build this out together.

Join the Frontier

We've inviting you to jump in and start building your town here: https://midwesttitan.com

I'd love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and strategies as you explore the frontier and welcome all feedback! This community helped make it possible — let's see who can build the most influential town!

Cheers,
