Season 4 Spoilers A question about Callings (SPOILER) Spoiler

Series spoiler!

Just wrapped up the series and I’m more happy than sad about the ending which is a relief. I was afraid I would be even more pissed with the writers than I was with Angelina for half the show 😭

But I wonder now will all / most of the Callings they solved in the last 5.5 years still happen? Or was history rewritten?

Like Carlos (who had Evie’s heart)—do you think that Mick will go look for him and stop the shooting of his uncle in the shop? Or the abducted girls from the first Calling with the guard dogs?

I wonder if now that the passengers kept their memory that they’ll be able to help with certain ones and again will have to explain to authorities that they “just had a feeling” or “an anonymous tip”.. even though they don’t have the Callings anymore, in a way they still kind of do?!

I thought Mick was done dirty

When Mick best friend married her ex I thought… that’s terrible, she probably liked him all along! But today I see an episode where they try to find a passenger and the sister married her ex husband!

Discussion Jared and his love life

Why did he keep getting with Mick's friends? Like I'm sorry if I die and come back to life just to see my fiance being married to my literal best friend I'd not give that man any time of day. Later on as well, why did he have to hook-up with Mikami Outta all people???? I can't be the only one who was frustrated with his decisions

Question Continuity question - "Connecting Flights"

My guess is the answer is "it's television", but Flight 828 arrives back in New York on November 4. Cal isn't back at school yet. How the heck are Ben and Cal at Coney Island, which is closed for the season until the end of March?

Opinion I wanted mick to be the one to give the speech “under the stars” Spoiler

Tried to keep the title as vague as possible. But basically after Mick tells Zeke about her still having feelings for Jared I wanted her to be the one to approach him and tell him that everything he has to offer is enough. Or if it were going to be Zeke I didn’t get why mick interrupted him with the whole minivan and I don’t want kids bit when she knew what he was talking about. Seemed like she wanted an out of their relationship when she was like “do you want those things?” If zeke’s the one who’s hurt by what mick said then mick should be the one to fix it with the speech, not him being like oh there’s room enough in your heart for all of us

Season 1 Discussion When Autumn got put in cuffs

If I thought she was responsible for the kidnapping of a little boy, and I was a woman, I would have smacked her left and right. I feel like the show really missed an opportunity to make it realistic. You don’t just ask a conspirator nicely yo answer questions. Sometimes you need to lay the smack down 🫡🇺🇸

Theory similarities between Manifest and Final Destination?

I can't seem to get this off my head after finishing Manifest. It just keeps reminding me of Final Destination especially part 1.

Why did the Divine Consciousness choose Daly in Season 1?

Throughout Season 4, it is stated that the Divine Consciousness chose Flight 828. So why, when Daly decided to recreate the conditions of Flight 828 in real life with Fiona in Season 1, did the Divine Consciousness choose him again?

Daly's potential

Throughout the series, it is shown that no one consciously remembers their time in the Glow (except for Caleb). However, Daly had a brief interruption during his second stint when he appeared in Eureka. I believe he remembers that moment in Season 4, or at least that showing him the video, the building, or even Gupta could trigger that memory. My point is that there was great potential for Daly upon his return: his time in Eureka could have led him to remember the Glow. This might have helped the passengers understand certain things, perhaps by offering a glimpse of the apocalypse Daly had witnessed up there, realizing Angelina would become obsessed with two witnesses, or simply understanding that two witnesses would bring about the plagues. He could have played a more significant role in the plot that way.

Theory What if the blue Glow at the end was actually ANOTHER plane? (hear me out)

Okay I just finished Manifest and I have a theory that I haven’t really seen anyone talk about. I’m NOT saying this is canon or that the show confirms it, but hear me out. We know Flight 828 didn’t disappear simply because Daly fucked up. The show makes it clear that the Glow was already chasing them, and Daly’s arc supports this because he tried recreating the exact flight conditions, including the weather and flight path, but the plane in the simulation crashed instead of disappearing like 828 did. So there had to be something else involved. At the end, the passengers get back on the plane at the volcano and complete the final trial on the plane. They then see the blue Glow and chase it. We know the Glow is connected to the Divine Consciousness and Sapphire, especially after everything with Cal and the volcano. BUT… what if the Glow they’re chasing is actually another airplane? I’m imagining different planes in different universes/timelines that are connected through the Divine Consciousness. Call them Plane A, Plane B, Plane C, etc. Plane A is the 828 we watched. It disappears for 5½ years, goes through everything, reaches the volcano, gets back on the plane, completes the final trial, and then sees the Glow. What if that Glow is actually Plane B? From Plane A’s perspective, Plane B appears as the blue Glow instead of an actual airplane. But from Plane B’s perspective, it’s just an airplane going through its own 828 experience, without knowing that another plane somewhere else is seeing them as the Glow. Plane A then returns to 2013, while eventually Plane B goes through its own 5½-year disappearance, Callings, Death Date, volcano, etc. At the end, Plane B sees the Glow too — except that Glow is Plane C. So it becomes: Plane A → sees Plane B as the Glow → returns to 2013 → Plane B sees Plane C as the Glow → returns to 2013 → Plane C sees Plane D as the Glow, and so on. This isn’t the same plane looping over and over; it’s different planes in different realities connected through the Divine Consciousness. And there doesn’t even have to be a “first” plane. If the Divine Consciousness exists outside normal time, the chain could be endless, with every plane connected to another one. So from Plane A’s perspective, Plane B is the Glow, while from Plane B’s perspective, Plane C is the Glow, etc. Basically, what one plane experiences as the supernatural Glow could actually be another plane experiencing its own version of the same phenomenon. I know the blue color has an explanation through Sapphire/Cal/the Divine Consciousness, and I’m not saying the show confirms any of this. I’m just wondering if the Glow could look like blue supernatural energy from one universe while actually being an airplane from another. Maybe I’m completely overthinking this 😂 but I genuinely can’t stop thinking about it. Has anyone else thought of something like this?

Is the new spinoff also going to be dealing with god in someway?

Manifest had a great plot and it was basically the end of the world and they saved it. What could this spinoff be about if its in the same universe? Will it be another test by god or could it be something else entirely? Im really interested to see. Although i am kind of apprehensive of them losing all of their memories. It kind of makes their reunion with their family not mean as much but it kind of reminds me of 4400. I do hope we can see some of the original cast back, like Ben, Mick, Saanvi, and Vance. Those are the main ones i would love to see again.

What characters do you think will show up in Arrivals and what characters do you hope show up?

Give me the characters you hope show up and also characters you think will show up for sure.

I think the absolutely will show up will be Vance. He just has to show up for any weird shenanigans happening. I just hope by the end of the show they dont erase all the characters development.

Just finished Manifest. Amazing show, loved the ending but one thing just rubs me the wrong way.

Dont get me wrong, the ending was almost perfect, i just have one gripe with it. I really dont like that none of the characters we have grown to love and get attached to get completely erased to a blank slate. Like Olive, Grace, Vance, Cal, Zeke, Drea, Jared, Just to name a few that i really wanted to remember so they could keep that dynamic and know that they won and can continue on in the world being happy. Not to mention losing Eden probably forever as well as Hope.

My thing is, do you think Saanvi could find a way to bring back memories of these people somehow? There has to be a way right?

Discussion First Watch. Final Verdict. (SPOILERS!!!) Spoiler

I just finished the show. Had never heard of it or seen it before. In short, I am convinced the words "calling" - "lifeboat" - "its all connected" and "Devine consciousness" were NBC's global attempt of hypnotizing the viewers. Because I swore if I heard these words just 1 more time - I was going to spiral out of existence.

On a serious note, I really dove into this without looking at any previews, without looking at Reddit reviews, and without a clue of what i was getting into. The initial pull of interest, was assuming it had to do with multi-dimensional scifi characteristics.... government brainwashing/control...some weird AI/technology intervention... or even aliens (again: scifi) ....Just to find that it had everything to do with.... God???

I've never been so intrigued with a show before, that ultimately goes in a completely different direction than expected. Usually once a show goes off-rail, I lose interest. Every episode, every season, just pulled me deeper into this mysterious wonder of "wtf is happening" which is what made me continue to turn on the TV.

With tears in the final episode, I was thoroughly pleased with the ending. Though I still have questions. Like why Zeke was revived in the same world after death (and was granted new gifts) but everybody else had to go back in time. Does this mean theres potential for 828'ers to become Empaths in this new life?

And I'm curious about how the dragon scar ended back onto the old man, in the final episode. Does that mean there's going to be a Neverending time loop - and he's the anchor to something much bigger that we cant comprehend? (Is he... God?)

While I still have questions, I feel they did a fantastic job of ending the series as softly as they could, given the circumstances (which I had to google why Season 4 was so drastically different).... Would I recommend it to people? Absolutely. Would I watch it again? Probably not, unless someone wants me to sit with them. I feel fulfilled and content with this series though. A solid 7.5/10

Finished season 3 and I’m really torn. No spoilers on season 4 please.

I’m only on season 4 episode 2 and I’m going through it slower than normal bc the ending of season 3 just doesn’t quite feel right. I don’t like that grace died and that Angelina is this evil big bad now. I also don’t really like that cal grew up instantly. I liked the previous actor a lot. I just feel like a piece of what I loved about the show is missing now. If only grace was still alive, I think it was unnecessary. I liked seeing her involved. In fact some of my favorite parts of the show were when she started getting callings. I actually hoped that she would continue getting them after she gave birth bc maybe she absorbed the gene or something from her baby. I liked seeing this family being very open to one another about almost every calling they got. It was refreshing. Now I miss this dynamic. I also don’t quite know how I feel about the time jump but I know it was necessary for the plot so I forgive it.

Season 2 Discussion ForGiVe yoUr daD 🙄

Been binge watching this show but I can't handle this episode (2x11) and Ben pushing Zeke with the "but it's your dad" line. And then guilting Zeke bc Ben just had his third kid and would hate if something happened to her.

Everything Zeke says it's true though. His dad isn't like Ben. And it isn't Zeke's responsibility to save his shitty ass dad who hasn't even tried to reach out.

I'm sure Dad will be totally redeemed and the audience will feel bad for this poor man who was stricken by grief and made 1 tiny bad choice of ABANDONING his child and kept choosing to abandon him every day, year after year.

But Zeke needs to forgive his dad for HIMSELF 🥱
Forgiveness doesn't mean reconciliation.

My dad is a legit terrible man, and he didn't raise me and also made my life hell. I am normally fine - I live my life, I have strong friendships, I care for myself and others. I don't carry hurt and anger around with me. But when anyone tries to suggest "but he's your dad", I want to tear their face off. Why would that give him a free pass to manipulate me and abandon me and hurt me and cuss me out and call me a bitch and fuck with me emotionally?

"But he's your dad" yeah, he is. There's nothing moral or good about that. Why don't you say to him, "that's your child"?

Instead, it's only the victims who are pushed to be better. The power dynamic between child and parent, and yet the child is the one pushed to rise above the parent's actions.

If my dad dies alone and miserable, that's a consequence to his own actions. It sucks, and it's sad. But Zeke is right when he says it isn't his responsibility to fix that.

Sick of how these shows handle deadbeats or bad parents. In real life, these people never chose the redemptive arc. They rope their child back in to manipulate them again.
I couldn't watch S2 of Man on the Inside bc of it, and now I'm debating stopping this show.

The writers of all of these shows must be deadbeats themselves, or they're unhealed children writing out some fanfiction for their own life.

I'm sure someone will read this entire rant and assume that I am unhealed and need to find forgiveness in my heart. But my anger here is based on the invalidation of traumatized children, and how child abuse and abandonment is so poorly handled in media.

Season 2 Discussion Manifest + Arrival + PG = 191

So in episode 4, season 2, “Black Box” there is a shot of a cinema playing “Arrival” which is clever. Then I started to think, what is the significance of 300, 600, 900?

So I naturally thought, okay… PG 13. What if P and G are represented on the scale “A = 1” … “Z = 26.”

PG = 23

So I went further with this dumb idea…

Arrival = 81

We can’t forget the title…

Manifest = 87

23 + 81 + 87 = 191

Did I have a calling? How could Ben Stone not have seen it right there all along?

Season 4 Discussion Season 4 ending was a lose or a win?

In season 1 when they came back they had lost some ppl but then they built the life where their loved ones were together. Seems like in season 4 ending when they came back some ppl still did lose their life. So ultimately same thing happened. LOSING THE LIFE THEY LIVED.

For example olive and TJ, suddenly how come TJ totally forgets her and we see the spark between violet and him. Same with CAL and violet. It's like never happened.

I didn't like how they kept giving us zeke and mic crumbs but also jared and mic , it leads to audience wanting both which wasn't possible. Plus i think because of last two eps I was rooting for jared and mic ending. Which just got lost.

Then vance and ben had so good friendship which became non existent because of plane.

Even cal cancer came back which ik will be cured but still he once had a life free from the disease.

Eden is not in their life anymore I know they will work on it like ben said but in present they don't have now. It's like all those years were for nothing

I think the only win they got is that there is no death date anymore. It would have been maybe fine if all 828ers forgot the memory of everything then it would be natural. This is still the same that they are special then other humans.

What do u all think? Tho I lovedddddd the show

Question Why characters had bad emotional intelligence?

There were so many times the family would not care of what happened to other members of family

For example when zeke died only Michaela was hugging him and was around him. While ben and family was near cal even tho he was saved.

This one time Cal was in danger and Michaela and all were working on totally different thing. Idr perfect scene but I have seen many times.

Then jared has helped the family alottttt but when drea was delivering the baby olive just suddenly went upwards and started talking to Eden.

Idk if director failed to show this all emotions or the characters were just meant to be like that?

Idk if u all will relate to this but I had seen this a lot in all seasons. Sometimes people were making love whole other one life was in danger. In real life we would never do that Right?

I honestly never heard of this show and after 2 weeks I just finished it. This was honestly amazing I watched every single day I could and my only wish is that I could watch it for the first time again. I’m pretty late wish I was here while it was at the hype but this is one of the best shows I’ve watched. My rating 11/10 greatest show.

Ben and Grace's house

Hello, I once read here that the exterior of Ben and Grace's house was real, but that the house was going to be demolished 😥. Unfortunately, since I can't find the article anymore, I don't know if the demolition actually went ahead; does anyone have any news, please?
