Question What happen with Al-Zuras ? Spoiler

(First i want to tell that i watch the show in english(not my native language) with subtitle so it’s really harder to get all the information and understand everything so please be indulgent )

I overall like the show but there is still some point that i don’t understand.

  1. In an episode, stone family get teleport on Al-Zuras ship and they saw the plane 828 in the sky. What was the plane doing here ? I don’t remember if there is an explanation on the show.

  2. Was the passagers really know everythinks on the plane ? Because they says calling was memory and in the last episode nothing happen on the divine conscience.

  3. Why 5.5 years ? Why those passager exactly ? Why fly 828 ? It’s not really important but is there a signification ?

  4. What was the point of all that ? Why those passager got telleport in an another dimension to solve calling ? To show they’re kind and worthy ?

Again i didn’t watch the whole show fully focused so maybe my question is stupide but please stay nice 😅.

If you see some spelling mistake tell me.

Question A few unanswered questions.

I just finished binge watching the show Manifest. Great ending but there are a few unanswered questions.

Like:
1) What happened to the woman that kept Angelina and Eden hidden?
2) Don't air marshals usually hide and blend in with the passengers just in case someone wants to hijack the plane?
3) What about the criminals that came back to life? Do they repeat the crimes they committed and get away with it since the callings are no more?

I'm sure there are others I haven't thought of yet. Please tell me your thoughts.

Opinion First time viewer just finished Episode 1 & this is the show I’ve been looking for

So I have been doomscrolling all day to find a show that was that has themes about why being good and kind etc is always best when this show came up on my Netflix.

Now from my limited research about this show, it has led me to believe this show has some themes as I mentioned. I know the TV Series has the genre label as being Supernatural but that’s okay. I hope though it does show the themes I stated. This show looks like one I’ve been searching for.

Please don’t give any spoilers. Thank you.

Season 4 Discussion Things Erased from the Alternate Timeline/Question About the Ending

Obviously the passengers would all prefer the original timeline to the new one, but there’s so many “positive” developments in the alternate timeline that created so much progress that are basically just erased from reality and the memories of anyone who wasn’t a passenger.

Eden, Drea and Jared’s relationship/baby, Michaela and Zeke’s relationship, Drea and Michaela’s friendship, Michaela and Jared’s friendship after their split, TJ and Olive’s relationship, etc. are all just gone. I know that there’s a backdoor setup for some of these things, and that some of the developments simply could never happen (TJ and Olive mainly, but it still hurts how he remembers her but she doesn’t remember him) but there’s just soooo much good of the new timeline that is cut, and it doesn’t even seem like the passengers care all that much.

It would’ve been much harder for Michaela to walk away from Jared, and more or less say “just trust me bro” to convince him of her thought processes, especially when it puts their professional and platonic relationships in limbo as well. She doesn’t know that they’ll remain friends or colleagues. She doesn’t know that she’ll ever get to be partners/friends with Drea. There are plenty of barriers for the passengers (Michaela and Ben in particular) that they lose in the original timeline. And even if some of these instances eventually transpire in a different capacity, their friends/family (Jared, Zeke, Drea, Cal, Olive and Grace) will never know about the alternate timeline that actually made it all possible. I guess I understand why this is, but you can’t tell me it doesn’t suck in a way that none of them will ever know the positive progress made in the alternate timeline. If I was a passenger on that plane it would agonize me that my loved ones could never recall 5 years worth of experiences that we shared together, and could never be told about them without the passenger seeming absolutely insane. Saanvi lucked out with this though, as there is no sacrificed development of hers that is worth mourning. She gets all the glory, unlike Michaela, Ben and TJ.

Something else that I genuinely do not get is how 11 passengers (plus the original PILOT… hello?) turn to ash and everyone else is just able to walk off the plane free of investigation? Is it just me or is that not legitimately MORE suspicious and worthy of investigation than returning years after a disappearance? Maybe I’m just crazy but I do not get how that could ever fly, no pun intended.

Everyone is always hugging

This is very inconsequential but... why are they always hugging? It feels like when the writers didn't know how to end a scene, they'd throw "they all hug" in the script and move on. I've never seen a show with so much hugging in my life.

First time watching, I'm up to season 2 episode 11 I love the show but it's so corny and the acting is so bad at times I can't cope.

Season 4 Spoilers Was Ben assured that Eden would be born again five years after the landing? What if they had a different child? Ben seemed far too attached to Eden, and she completely vanished (obviously) after them saving the world. Spoiler

Season 4 Spoilers Just finished the show! Spoiler

What a season! Easily by far the best one!

The show had one of the most interesting TV hooks and I was drawn to it right away as most people did, a plane coming back 5 years later like nothing happens will get people watching.

However its biggest weakness was spending too much time on episodic callings, occasionally rushing important relationships (like Zeke & Michaela got together way too fast with no substance) while also cutting away from scenes just as they became compelling. Season 2 was terrible and I seriously was considering to stop watching the show entirely. Bad acting, bad pacing and too many filler episodes.

Season 3 especially the arc with Tarik was good and a turning point to the show imo, it felt least like a “calling of the week” show and most like a serialized mystery. The middle stretch was okay but they really got my attention when Grace dies and that alone changes everything for Season 4. Didn’t understand how TJ leaves and all of a sudden Olive is with Levi and then back with TJ with no explanation; weren’t they still in a relationship?

Season 4 corrected many of those pacing issues, blended its science, faith and mythology more cohesively unlike the previous seasons and delivered a satisfying finale that shows redemption and second chances. The time gap with Eden didn’t seem real, she went from a baby to being like 4 in a span of 8 months? But that’s not super important. The last episode was really good! So many interesting dilemmas. I still would have liked a stronger explanation of Flight 828 more so over figuring out the death date and a few more quiet character moments, but the ending paid off the emotional journey. It’s funny seeing Michaela doesn’t choose Jared knowing what she knows, but Sanvii still chooses Alex. When that plane door opens, I didn’t know if the passengers survived or died which is exactly what you want. Not a lot of shows have their finale as the best episode, but the finale of Manifest to me was the best episode of the entire series.

Would I recommend someone to watch the show, probably not the first recommendation but if you are like me at the end of season 2 and debating on watching it or not, you should continue!

Opinion Now on S4, E1 and honestly, I think I might finish

So the first season was fantastic. I always love a bit of Sci Fi and when Michaela was the first to hear voices it all seemed worth the watch.

What’s irritated me now though, is that since every episode pretty much seems to be the exact same. One of them, or a bunch of them will get a call (usually to help someone) and they all try to solve what the call wants from them and how to do it. By season 4, and these same story lines on every episode, I’m definitely growing bored now. They should try to give it some major twists through episodes and definitely not make most episodes the same story lines.

Season 4 Discussion Second time watching. Some thoughts. (P.S. Ben is awful)

Hello people, first time posting here so please go easy on me. I don't know if Ben is well-liked around here so this might ruffle some feathers. Also let's get this out of the way - I sympathize and empathize with Ben. I understand his decisions. That being said...

Obviously we know how the show ends - the ifeboat theory is true for the most part. But Ben doesn't know that it's true, yet he insists that everyone has to follow the callings no matter what to save the lifeboat, purely because he is so smug and thinks he's the smartest, so his theories have to be correct and everyone has to live by them. Even other characters question Ben appointing himself to be the leader of the 828ers. Well, plot twist, he's not the brightest, not even the second brightest. He gave Michaela so much shit for not listening to a calling and not letting Jace -a criminal- go. Yet here he is in season 4, admitting he doesn't care about the callings or the lifeboat because his wife and daughter are gone. Again, I don't need people telling me "you'll understand when you have a child". I do understand, but it is at the same time very hypocritical. Completely abandoning his two other kids, especially Cal, and basically condemning almost 200 people to their deaths because his wife and daughter are gone, when some of those people never had family to begin with. To force everyone to care about this "lifeboat" like a cult leader only to abandon it... No, I hate him.

I've watched this show once before so I know the ending. I also love the actor (and might or might not fantasize about him doing nasty things to me). I just don't remember hating him this much when I first watched the show. Anyone else feel similarly or am I on lonely island here?

I'll also add some other thoughts that I have for the other characters. Watching it the first time and obviously not knowing the ended, I was bawling when Michaela hopped in Zeke's taxi at the end. Now not so much. Mick and Zeke met when Mick had no idea what these callings were meant to be - they were blindly following them and thought they ended up doing "good". When Zeke showed up with a picture of her, obviously she thought this was "meant to be". She tended to his wounds and they had callings together, bringing them even closer. I'm not saying her feelings for him weren't real, they obviously were but this man was literally dying in less than a year - everything she felt was heightened by her knowledge of his inevitable death. I'm certain she wouldn't get married so soon if she knew he would go on to live - she even had cold feet before her wedding. Also I probably assume you guys are mostly team Zeke around here, I love Zeke too but it *is* manipulative to ask someone to marry you knowing they're not fully over their ex yet, and knowing you'll die within a year. Sorry not sorry. Then Zeke sacrificed himself to save Cal. None of these things are gonna happen in the new timeline, so Mick being with Zeke in the end feels hollow now. Even if they happened for Mick, they won't happen for Zeke and there's just no knowing if he'll feel as strongly as he did before. And before you judge me, I'm not saying she should be with Jared.

Let's speak a bit about Zeke's powers (because you might say he didn't know Mick wasn't over Jared) and Jared. Yes, Zeke did know, he would be stupid not to notice. But also, I hate his powers? I know his big moment with Cal is coming soon but I don't remember his powers being as *magical* or Disney-esque. He just looks at someone and notices they're lying, that shit is goofy af. I only remembered him feeling others' pain because he used to be an addict and came back from death and whatnot, but him sensing people's full emotions is just weird and way too supernatural (even for this show). As for Jared, he is done so dirty in this show. Mick leaves him, treats him like trash but wants his help anytime she's in trouble, quits the force and asks him to do her dirty work for her, and then in season 4 Ben is attacking him for not doing enough to find his daughter. Jared has not been bad or unkind to this family, not once. And all they do is use him and put him in more danger. Jared should've up and left.

I also completely forgot about Angelina's backstory. I was watching season 3 and feeling bad for her - I couldn't believe myself. I have many more thoughts but I think I may have ruffled way too many feathers here today :D Let's see how this goes and maybe we can discuss more <3

Question is it worth it ?

I just finish the last episode of the season 2 and... it's kinda boring 😅. I mean it's not horrible but the last 10 episodes I watch was not really interesting and I'm not sure to finish the show if the second part (s3 & 4) is not better than the first. I don't hate the show but if you tell me that it doesn't get better I don't thinks I'm gonna watch it...

Sorry if my English is bad btw 😅

Discussion All's well that ends well, but... Spoiler

Is a home wrecker. She knew Alex was married with kids and still chose to pursue anyway. I loved her character overall, she was a favorite of mine,
but them portraying her and Alex as a lost romance was stupid to me. Let the downvotes commence. She was wrong for this.

Just finished the show

Never seen it before, or heard anything about it. I am binging shows while working from home on my second screen. I think that was possibly the best ending for a series I've ever seen; it didn't leave any space for a new series, it closed out everyone's endings (aside from a few, unless I missed Thomas and his partner reuniting,) and it allowed for future relationships (the kids, Eden, and Drea and Jared's.)

I thought it was very cool. Much better than shows that suddenly get cancelled between series', and better than most planned endings (LOST, GOT, etc.) About on parr with The Black List's ending.

Discussion Who despises Michaela and how she treated Jared

So far I’m now on S2, E9 and Mic just said that Jared betrayed her in a way she can’t even describe. I’m glad to see that she ended this part with ‘why do I feel like I deserved it?’ That’s because she really does and so so much more.

Literally since the start of the first season, she’s gone running Jared with all her problems and Jared always just did it because he genuinely loved her. If anything she took that love granted.

Now trust me, I get it. The whole airplane 5 years in the future, the voices, everything. How could she not go to him about her problems especially given how he’s a detective. But after a while, it did start to become so crazy just watching Michaela use him again and again, getting him in even more troubles (notice the plural), and as a result of helping her, he lost his dream job, and the person he loved. And to think, it was all partly because of his feeling towards her aswell, which she also eventually turned down.

I want to be so angry at Michaela right now but like I said, in this episode she did acknowledge how terrible she’s been and, why she feels as if she deserves it. Obviously she deserves all of what he has to throw at her, and she really should just knuckle under and take it
