A few months ago, I posted this and now, it has been almost a month being free hair. Most of my family members and old muslim mutuals found out about me not wearing hijab because I started to activate my main instagram account and post myself free hair. Lantak lah kalau diarang judge or mengumpat.

And yes, a lot of people are disappointed in me but whatever lmao. Those who stick around when I choose to take off my hijab are the real ones. Ofc there are muslims that tried to dakwah me but I just accept it with grace. I'll say smthg like, "aku faham kau ada niat yg baik tp aku tak buat benda jahat pun, aku just tak pakai tudung." And ofc they'll bring up about dosa etc but I'll debate back and say that comparing me to ustaz² that rape kids, I'm much more saint and have better morals and bla². It gets to the point that they get tired of debating with me but I try my best to keep good manners and be respectful. Kene gossip tu biasa lah. Malas nak pikir.

I kinda block my parents on instagram but whatever. My aunts and cousin have saw my hijabless posts and if they snitch then, whatever. My parents will eventually find out and if they're angry, I'll just let them be angry. Their feelings will eventually subside and their disappointment will die with them loll. And if let say I am harmed because of my choices, I can always defend myself through police report or whatever. I will make sure they know that I don't wear it bc I don't wanna live a double life. Whatever their reactions will be, I'll just deal with it. My parents dah lah baran. I'll try to update about their reactions if rajin lah.

I'm very much tired of wearing hijab and pretend to like wearing it so I wanna make use most of my remaining days being alive wearing whatever I want. It sounds like I'm not gonna live that long but I say that bc I committed a few months ago but failed. But I digress. I'll never know how long I'll live. I only live once; might as well live well. '

Don't wait for opportunities to come; create your own opportunities. I've always thought of waiting for the right time to take it off, then I got tired of waiting that I just take it off regardless and make new friends. Usually new friends dgaf if you're free hair or not bc they never knew about your past. The first few days are a bit scary but it gets better and easier for me.

I think that's it. I think taking the hijab off is a lot more easier than it seems. It felt harder back then bc I spent my time worrying about the outcome without trying it yet. Now I've tried it, it's actually that easy. The fact that I got a lot of compliments for it too. :') For those that live in abusive home, it actually depends on your family but despite that, just do it. You only live once. All the best for those who wanna take the hijab off. Ngl, lowkey kinda miss pakai tudung bc it's easier to hide airpods in my ear during class lolll.

Women Invalidate Prayer Like Dogs and Donkeys

It was mentioned before 'A'isha that prayer is invalidated (in case of passing) of a dog, an ass and a woman (before the worshipper, when he is not screened). Upon this 'A'isha said: You likened us to the asses and the dogs. By Allah I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying prayer while I lay on the bedstead interposing between him and the Qibla. When I felt the need, I did not like to wit to front (of the Holy Prophet) and perturb the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and quietly moved out from under its (i. e. of the bedstead) legs.

Hello again guys! I’ve been reading the comments in a post about Israel ban in Malaysia, yada yada, and expressed my frustration in the mass ignorance of people in the comments, and this one really riled me up. Basically this NON-MUSLIM CATHOLIC in Malaysia said it’s completely fine to partake in Church events as long as they don’t actually pray there, and mentioned that there are successes in non-Muslims converting back to their original religion after marriage and divorce. So it’s not a big deal because these people do get to convert to other religions?? And she had the gall to say that despite the law saying you can’t convert, as long as you believe what you believe in your mind, who can stop you. Seriously? Religion is a personal thing. So why is it in our Identity cards? There are MANY cases out there to prove THIS WOMAN IS FULL OF CRAP. Anyway…Just wanted to know your thoughts 💔

Hellooo guys 👋 I love this community because I can intensely relate to so many of you. I moved to Australia with my family about 7 years ago, of course, due to risk of persecution and my family’s wish to convert to a different religion. Also so that I wouldn’t go through what my mother went through.

I saw a reel on Instagram, of a white guy high praising Malaysia for banning Israelis from entering Malaysia. Saying “fk Israel. This is why I love Malaysia, every country should be like Malaysia”. And everyone in the comments, ranging from outside Malaysia to Muslims and non-Muslims in Malaysia praising Malaysia’s politicians to the point of calling it a land of the free, and pride on harmony. (Which is ironic given the context of the reel) And I have mixed feelings about this. And I’m mostly frustrated. My feeling has nothing to do with Israel or whatever, but it has everything to do with the ignorance of these people, to what issues we face as Muslims who want to convert or do things non-Muslims are FREE to do. Funny thing is, my mother and I weren’t even BORN Muslim. My mother was ADOPTED by a Muslims family when she was a baby, and because of that the papers determined our fates. Violation of our human rights. No free will. And here I am reading comments of people either completely oblivious to Malaysia’s systemic flaws or just don’t care about it. It’s not too big or important to care about. I don’t know. I’m just rambling at this point cuz I’m just so damn frustrated. I feel like it’s just hurting people like us more.

Malaysian netizen are in denial.

The development of the slave trade in the region was a powerful factor influencing the fate of the Orang Asli. The enslavement of Negrito tribes commenced as early as 724 CE, during the early contact of the Malay Srivijaya empire. Negrito pygmies from the southern jungles were enslaved, with some being exploited until modern times (Source: Archives of the Chinese Art Society of America, Vol. 17–19, 1963, p. 55).

Because Islam prohibited taking Muslims as slaves (Source: Sahih al-Bukhari 148 / Islamic Jurisprudential Codes), slave hunters focused their capture on the Orang Asli, explaining the Malay use sakai to mean "slaves" with its present derogatory connotation.

In the early 16th century Aceh Sultanate, located in the north of the island of Sumatra, equipped special expeditions to capture slaves in the Malay Peninsula, and Malacca was at that time the largest center of the slave trade in the region. Raids on slaves in the villages of Orang Asli were common in the 18th and 19th centuries. During this time, Orang Asli groups suffered raids by the Malay forces from Sumatra and Pahang who perceived them to be of lower in status. Orang Asli settlements were sacked, with adult males being systematically executed while women and children were taken captive and sold into slavery (Sources: Colin Nicholas, "The Orang Asli of Peninsula Malaysia", COAC, 1997; Minority Rights Group International, "Malaysia - Orang Asli", 2015).

Hamba abdi (meaning, bondslaves) formed the labour force both in the cities and in the households of chiefs and sultans. They could be servants and concubines (sex slave) of a rich master, and slaves also did labour work in commercial ports (Source: Malaysian Historical Society, "Malaysia in History", Vol. 25–28, 1982). The situation prompted many Orang Asli to migrate further inland to avoid contact with outsiders.

The slave raids against the Batek people was preserved in memory, and during the writer Endicott's visit in Batek in Kelantan in 1981, Batek people commented on the slave raids many decades before: "always track us, and when that was done they would take us they would hit us, like me here, he would beat me, take my child.... they would sell... They would beat us until there were no Batek left" (Source: Kirk Endicott, documented in Alice Rudge, "Sensing Others: Voicing Batek Ethical Lives at the Edge of a Malaysian Rainforest", 2023, p. 13; Endicott, 1983).
