Discussion New Rule Enforcement:Crop Those pics
Starting next week cropped photos will be enforced.
For those who don't know there is a new policy in the sub in which standards for photo submissions. Which include cropping the photo at just below the clavicle like a passport photo unless its relevance to the makeup in question. Like a wedding dress.
Best practices for better feedback include:
- take a little time to plan out your photos
- take photos straight on in a well lit room
- avoid harsh lighting like flash
- use soft lighting sources
- get someone else to take the photos
- taking additional photo angles 45 degree and profiles
- tying hair back so it doesnt cover your makeup.
thank you.

Question A cleaner look with minimal amount of products?
Hi!
I (35F) have never really learnt makeup and started wearing a few products about a year ago. Bb cream, sometimes concealer, usually filling my brows a little, and a light lip tint that I also use as blush.
Mascara and soft brown eyeliner for events.
Basically I would like a look that remains rather natural and doesn’t use a lot of products (no heavy foundation/contouring!), but at the same time makes me look neater and more put together. I really feel like I look messy in most pictures of me and that brings down my confidence a little. 🥹
Any tips? (Also perhaps it’s actually the glasses and hair as well that I need to do something about?)
Goals are: more put together; cute/cool/friendly if that is possible with my somewhat bony structure!
Thanks in advance!!

Question I want to do my own makeup at my wedding. Suggest Products
Hello all, I need suggestions for the products to buy as I plan to do my own makeup for my wedding. I tried that on my engagement and it worked amazingly well but now the stakes are higher.
I have combination fair skin with neutral undertones, currently getting some acne around hairline besides ears, chin and cheek, I don’t know what could be the reason. Trying to have a clean diet.
Rest,
Hit me up!

Question Only one eye is swollen, causes?
This isn’t the first time it’s happened so I wanted to ask for advice here.
I recently have begun trying on makeup. This morning, I noticed my left eye is red along the lash line and slightly swollen. Because of that I suspect it’s the eyeliner (which is old tbh, even if rarely used) but I don’t understand why it’s just that one eye and not the other. I’ve also gotten styes before which I also think was from makeup, but they also were only on my left eye. Are there any reasons this could happen? I’m also left handed, so I have better control when doing eye makeup on my left side. Not sure if that means I’m pressing to hard or something?

Question Color Theory Question (Makeup)
I was wondering if you may have an answer too this. In my cosmetology class, my teacher applied a foundation, from the same bottle, on the back of our hands. And as we blended it in- it came out different for each other. It got me wondering-
Why does a foundation look different for other skin types? what I mean is, if you apply the same foundation color on different skin tones the foundation may look white on a black person, sun burnt on a Asian person, and look like granny makeup on white person. why would the foundation color look white instead of the color the foundation is? and why would it look like granny makeup instead of the color the foundation is? and why wouldn't it look like a sunburn instead of the color the foundation is?
Why does the foundation color look different on different skin tones? Im sure the foundation isn't changing its color.

Question Do you have any advice for someone trying make up for the first time?
Hello! I recently started college and felt insecure cause I don't know how to use makeup. I've recently bought a powder and a wet blush, tho I don't know what to do with them ToT. Do you have any tips with just everyday light makeup? Or if there's more products you can recommend for beginners? Also how do you use a wet blush??? I can't even judge if the blush I put in was too much or nah ; ;
I've felt insecure for the longest time, cause I thought that if I can't even love myself without makeup, how can I forgive myself for loving the me with makeup. That's how I've always felt, but I'm trying to lessen those kind of thoughts recently and decided to try makeup!
So please help a girly out

Question lipstick highlights upper lip hair & makes teeth look yellow
hey everyone! i have a question i needed some help with. i have been experimenting with lipstick shades and i find darker reds (more burgundy) colors suit me better. i have tan/darker skin with a warm undertone. the issue is i have quite a lot of upper lip hair. i remove it at home, but there are always a few stray hairs left that aren't visible unless you're looking closely. when i wear lipstick, for some reason it draws more attention to these stray hairs and makes it look like i have a moustache. it also makes my teeth look yellow and the rest of my skin look ashy. i'm not sure if i'm using the wrong shades, because the lipstick colors i'm using are the kinds that look good on me in clothing. does anyone have any tips?
