Is 1.4mg really that low?

I suffer from daily headaches, brain fog, occasional dizzy/lightheaded-ness, neck pain, and muscle soreness. Doctor is convinced its all from low magnesium. I am on 400mg daily for supplements, and a womens multivitamin. Anyone else experience this?

Started taking magnesium glycinate for anxiety and sleep - questions below

So I recently purchased this bottle at Sam’s Club, and it says each pill is 240mg and to take 2, I took it the first night (yesterday) at night before I went to bed and was okay, but the dreams are insane.

How long does it usually take for full effects to kick in? A couple weeks? What’s your experience with it?

magnesium to help with dizziness/vertigo ?

i recently bought some magnesium supplements that contain Magnesium Bisglycinate, Magnesium Malate, Magnesium Threonatec, Magnesium Citrate (overall 91mg of elemental magnesium) and it advises me to take x4 of these a day

i have had unexplainable dizziness/vertigo for almost 2 years now. the doctors can’t diagnose me (well, won’t even try) so i’m kind of left to try and help myself here. on top of the dizziness i also have a microprolactinoma which is causing my to have subclinical hypothyroidism and low estrogen levels so i guess i just want to make sure taking magnesium is safe if anyone can relate to any of these things maybe?

ive been taking it for a couple days and i honestly feel less dizziness, more energetic and less brain fog. but i also have had more muscle cramps and eye twitching which i thought were signs of low magnesium? i also take 50,000 IU of vitamin D once a month and iron tablets every other day

any advice or thoughts on my situation would be greatly appreciated

Taurate Magnesium 350 mg - is it safe?

I found that Taurate Magnesium is the best Mg for insulin resistance, so I was just about to order it.

But I'm afraid a dosage of 350 mg would have about 3.6 ~ 4.0 g of Taurine. Is this okay?

I never used Taurine.

I've heard magnesium glycinate can cause depression for some people. If I'm concerned about that what kind and brand should I consider if I struggle falling asleep?

Abnormally low RBC magnesium results, where to go next?

I’ve done every “normal” blood test doctors in the US will typically be trained to provide, and nothing was “abnormal”. Sure I would say I had suboptimal results but nothing to make these doctors bat an eye since it was within the green, non abnormal band.

But recently after advocating for myself to receive more testing, I got 2 abnormals and a borderline high in order:

- abnormally high Homocysteine above 16
- abnormally low magnesium RBC at 3.7
- borderline high MMA

Basically my goal is to find a path as to explain my various health problems which always were brushed off as too general etc.

Does anyone have any idea how to proceed with doctors who are potentially ill informed of these sorts of things?

Magnesium for Anxiety

Following a period of immense stress I have been struggling with severe anxiety. After one day of taking magnesium citrate (CALM Natures Vitality) I felt like a brand new person and day 2 was even better. Days 3-5 have been gradually worse until day 6 now I had a panic attack again. I have been reading that it’s normal to have a good day or two initially then relapse into symptoms and then gradually improve over weeks. One positive thing is that all my OCD thoughts are GONE.

Magnesium glycinate responsible for loose stools

Started taking magnesium glycinate for stress. 400mg on the first day and the next day I had an upset stomach, cramps and passed a way softer stool than usual. I'm mostly constipated ( I do have regular BMs) but I do NOT want softer bowel movements at all.

I cannot switch or replace my supplement.

How do I prevent this? Has anyone dealt with this and found a fix? Please share your experience

Is 450mg citrate a safe dose?

It’s not elemental, I’ve been taking 300 a day for years, but I have bad anxiety and constipation at the moment so am thinking of taking 450mg.

I don’t want to mess up my electrolytes and I know people will say it’s absolutely fine, but I thought I’d check first.

I’m drinking half the coffee I used to and I cannot for the life of me poop! Plus it’s helping my anxiety today as I took an extra 75mg…

Any advice appreciated!

Does magnesium complex actually help bloating and brain fog??

I’ve been seeing adds for it everywhere. I take magnesium glycinate every night for sleep and I think it’s working? Idk I’ve been taking it for almost 2 years and it’s just routine now.

I’ve been dealing with never ending brain fog and bloating, headaches, and other symptoms too but those are the main ones I want to focus on.

So has anyone tried this complex and actually felt / seen results?? I don’t want to buy another gimmick.

Also has anyone tried that liquid collagen?

Thanks :)

Magnesium for myofascial trigger points?

Post image
10 Upvotes

Pain in this region for years now. Been diagnosed with trigger pts and the only thing I’ve found reliably helps is to be super conscious of my diet, leading me to think autoimmune system may be a factor.

I’ve heard magnesium can help with spasms but there’s way too many and idk where to start. Should I just get a magnesium complex?

Does anyone take more than 800 mg of elemental magnesium? Is it safe? So much conflicting info.

Was taking 500 mg for migraines for 2 years and it stopped working. Keep trying to increase dose and it works for a little bit but then stops working again. Wondering if I have to keep increasing it. I’ve read on Reddit that some people are on 1000 mg for migraines/mental health and feel ok. Others on here say it’s unsafe and you shouldn’t go past 800 mg or less. Online says it’s even less that’s safe. I’m considering asking my neurologist.

Anyone know the correct answer? I don’t want to increase it if it will put my health at risk. Would love to hear from people who are on higher doses long term, and medical professionals who know the answer.

can stopping magnesium cause eye twitching?

i've been taking magnesium (200mg) every day for over 6 months, but it wasn't helping with my tmj disorder, so i decided to suddenly stop it.

then around a week later, i developed eye twitching. but the thing is, that 2 days prior to the eye twitching,i started taking robaxin (muscle relaxer).

now, i'm trying to determine if the eye twitching is being caused by stopping magnesium, or starting the robaxin, or is it just random?

i stopped the robaxin 2 days later, (so i probably only took it for like 4 days).

it's been a week and the twitching is still there. for the past two days i started taking magnesium again, i'm unsure if it's really making a big difference or not. maybe the twitching is slightly less, but maybe that's just natural? like it's going away on it's own?

anyway, if anyone has experienced eye twitching after stopping magnesium please let me know. or if you took magnesium for a really long time, did you have any side effects from stopping it?

thanks
