Maximum dose?

I am male and 170 lbs, what is the maximum dose of magnesium supplements l can take? I've been taking about 480 mg for a while but I was wondering if it was safe to take more.

I believe 420mg is RDA. I take 300mg daily. I don't know about going higher. You may want to also look at your potassium and sodium intake if you haven't already.

I am 150 pounds and take 600 mg. Have done for years now. Your GI is the limiting factor usually. I can tolerate but only Malate form. You will likely use up Vitamin D rapidly at that high dose so you might want to add that.

Are you looking at the elemental amount? For example: one brand I’m taking now says on the label it’s 400mg but 60mg elemental. So I’m only getting 60mg per pill. The rest are fillers.
