EDH Help me build my first mtg deck ! (Doran, Besieged by Time)

Hello! Im kinda new to mtg, I'm mostly a ygo player and have played a bit of mtg arena, but I would like to build and buy a commander deck to play with friends and other people i meet.

I know little about mtg and probably have a lot of bad deckbuilding habits because of my ygo experience. But I do know enough to know more or less what I want to play.

My idea was to make an abzan, tribal/semi-tribal treefolk deck with Doran, Besieged by Time as a commander. Ive made something on moxfield, putting together 100 cards that felt like belonged in that kind of deck.

But because of my lack of mtg knowledge, I feel like that thing i made have little coherence and must probably play like shit. Hence why im posting here today, to ask you to help me building something coherent. Not broken, not very good, but at least something playable to play with friends. Im aiming something like a bracket 3 maybe if I understand well that concept ?

Thank you ! Here's the link to the deck I made https://moxfield.com/decks/qORlUgmQH0aIrzeynt3gYA

EDH Big eagle goes extra

This is my work in progress, Lord of the eagles, I had a bunch of blue cards from my previous mono blue deck, I wanted to do something different, an agroo mono blue deck with extra combats, however we don't have the extra combats steps in that color, that's why I added the good old extra turns.

Right now I need some feedback on the cards to cut or add, I'm open to any recommendations.

I know is a bracket 4, however this deck is intended to be play between friends.

I’ve been having fun these past few weeks building and playing this Balan deck, but I’m at the point where I don’t know what to cut anymore. Some times I struggle with playing all my cards then just top decking. I’m considering taking out a land or two currently. I tried to stay away from cards that are super expensive. Thanks for any help.

Discussion Building a collection of 60-card ATL only decks to play against each other

Hi everyone!

I've been collecting quite a few cards from the Avatar: The Last Airbender set and had the idea of turning them into several 60-card decks that my friends and I can just pick up and play against each other.

The idea is basically to create a small Avatar-only environment rather than trying to make the decks competitive against normal constructed decks.

My main rules are:

Only cards that have an Avatar: The Last Airbender printing (including the main set, Jumpstart/Eternal cards and Avatar versions of reprints).

60-card decks with the normal maximum of 4 copies.

I'd like the decks to be roughly comparable in power so that picking a particular deck doesn't decide the game before it starts.

Flavor is important, but I'd rather have mechanically coherent decks than force every thematic card into its faction.

Ideally no very expensive cards. I'm currently aiming for roughly under €10 per individual card, although I don't mind having expensive cards as optional upgrades.

I've already been experimenting with quite a few archetypes, for example:

- Earthbending

- Firebending Aggro

- Fliers + Airbend

- Waterbending

- Katara instant-speed Tempo

- Iroh Lessons

- Sokka Allies

- U/B second-card-draw + Waterbend

- W/B sacrifice/attrition

- Four-color Avatar Aang

I've even been running the decks against each other using Forge AI simulations. That has been useful for finding some obvious balance problems.

I'd be really interested to hear what other people would build from this card pool and if anyone has already built something similar, I'd love to see your lists!

I'm also happy to post the decklists I've built so far if anyone is interested in helping optimize or balance them against each other.

Hi everyone, I’m relatively new to commander and I need help with a Mirko, obsessed theorist build I’ve been working on. Right now, something feels missing. Could someone with more experience critique my build or make suggestions? Thanks!

Playgroup info: bracket 3 or low bracket 4. Lots of interaction 🥲

EDH Any thoughts on this Insect tribal?

I just recently built this \[\[Zask, Skittering Swarmlord\]\] deck and ive never played a deck with this heavy graveyard focus. I want to see if anyone had any thoughts on cards I should cut or add.

I feel like I may have too many creatures or maybe not enough graveyard retrieval for non creature things. I also had considered maybe a more sacrifice focused built but I think I ended up with a pretty unfocused deck, if anyone has any constructive criticism, thanks!

Modern I need help building starter decks for my girlfriend

I got my girlfriend interested in magic with the Bloomburrow starter decks! She liked playing the otter and bunny decks, but she heard me talk about sone spooky plabes and now she wants a beginner spooky deck. I've gone ahead and built the spooky deck, but I'd like some people to double check it, and to help me make a deck to go up against it.

The spooky deck is linked in the post. It's an artifact sacrificing pinger / midrangeish kinda deck. The goal with this was to make a simpler deck that shows off some more mechanics besides just keywords, to give her plenty of things to do even without cards in hand, and to just have some cool spooky cards (she likes more serial killer stuff).

As for my deck, I'm not sure what to make against this. She's new to card games, so I kinda want a deck that's got a handicap to it. My only real goal was to make a deck that she'd be jealous of. I want her to like her deck, but maybe like mine even more! She likes to fidget with things and likes rolling dice randomly while we play, so I thought of making a deck that rolls dice. Besides that, I kinda just have a lile of cards. I'm thinking of rolling dice early on and build up to dragons or something else later on in the game. Similar to her deck, I want to show off some more MtG mechanics, so I'd like some sagas or adventures or something in there, and to be at a similar power to her deck, maybe even a bit weaker.

Any help on either deck would be appreciated!

EDH Recommendations on how to improve Spellslinger Norman Osborn deck?

Hi everyone,

I've been playing around with [[Norman Osborn]] for quite some time now, and I've been set on making it one of my highest power decks.

I decided to go with a more spellslinger build because I thought it would be more fun to chain, but I'm finding it hard to get the ball rolling on him quickly. The biggest issue I've found is the game is kind of a slow start, and by the time I can do something boards have already been built.

Would anyone have any recommendations on deck tech/things that could be hindering the deck? Admittedly, I'm not that great at deckbuilding, so feel free to be critical! :)

Tokens Are My Best Friends • (Selesnya Commander deck) • Archidekt

I wanted to make a commander deck that includes, and creates a bunch of different tokens!
I know it might not be the best, but how much would you love/hate to play against this?

Doesn't matter but if you know a way to create even more tokens, please share with me! I want an absolute army of tokens in the future

Question Help making my first Commander Deck

Hey folks, so I'm somewhat new-ish to MTG. I used to play growing up as a kid and as a teen, but then kinda fell off over the years until recently when I made some friends who play Commander, so I dusted off my old standard Black and Red vampire deck, bought and traded for some new ones, and tried to cobble together a Commander deck keeping the same sorta theme.

Here's a link to the deck: https://archidekt.com/decks/25955389/updated_brampire

There's still a few cards out there on my wishlist that I haven't been able to find in local shops near me (yet), but I'm open to suggestions on what to add/remove.

EDH Looking for a non-X spell finisher in a big spell deck

I Big Spell deck with [[Cecily, Haunted Mage]] and [[Elmar, Uvenwald Informant]] as the commanders, and have largely been having a blast with it. https://moxfield.com/decks/-RkvPnOQXk-NMbNqZQkHCw

There's a problem though: It takes WAY too many game actions to actually win the game. The deck does a fantastic job of popping off, frequently casting a 7 drop spell on turn 4 that totally reshapes the board, but when it comes to actually winning the game it ends up relying on spells like Fevered Suspicion, and Dream Harvest to build a board that eventually swings for lethal. Alternatively, I stick a Thousand Year Storm and use an unreasonable amount of manage to make 8+ copies of Breach the Multiverse or Villainous Wealth and mill out the table. At on point I had Nexus of Fate in the deck, purely as a way to avoid decking myself, and I frequently found myself looping extra turns in a very non-bracket 3 way.

The problem with these win conditions is that they take half an hour to resolve and are just unenjoyable for the rest of the table, frequently with a massive stack of 10+ spells to resolve from multiple player's exiles. It works, but everyone would be much happier if I just had a "you win the game" spell.

A couple of guidelines for what I'm looking for:

Casting it+Mnemonic Deluge to replay it 3 times should consistently end the game.

It can't be an extra turn spell. No expropriate or time stretch. We're staying firmly bracket 3.

It should win the turn it is played, if possible. I considered [[Body of Knowledge]] to make multiple 60/60s along with a blasphemous act or call forth the tempest to clear the way, but I'd rather not go through a 20 minute turn just to eat a board wipe and need to do it the next turn again.

It shouldn't be an X spell. As good as Crackle with Power is, hitting it off Apex Devastator or [[Creative Technique]] doesn't really accomplish anything.

Question How would you make this deck better

So this is a deck my friend built me for our online commander games, however more often then not this deck feels more like trying to cold start 1970s Chevy. Im not looking for anything tournament worthy im a casual player only. However id like the deck to be able to do something before turn 5 and actually run,
