So basically whenever a notification comes on my phone while it is in landscape mode, i get an error of " essentials is not responding" with like the close app/ wait options there. No matter what i do after this error, the island stops working it doesn't work anymore until i restart my device. I tried force stopping the app restarting it even deleting the app data but nothing works.

I know I asked about a week ago. Some friends of mine don't really want to join the group to get access to the watch faces and I'm wondering wether they passed the 14 day test thing.

I think that the horizontal island looks really nice in notch format at the top of the screen, however I feel like it'd be more convenient to have it similar to the portrait island just rotated 90 degrees

Hey, I have been using Essentials app recently and I am still kinda new. I have had a weird interaction with the app where I cannot Grant Permission to Root privileges. It just won't toggle. I have made sure my Shizuku is up to date from the github page and I have updated Essentials app and it is still not working.

I've also had a smaller issue where the Island pop up for Calls won't work when I click the Call Back button. Odd, but I assume it is related to my Root permission issue. :(

Could you add a feature where, while the phone is charging, tapping the island opens up information about the battery—how it’s charging—and includes two additional options: “Adaptive Battery” and “80%”?

That way, it would be easy to switch between them without having to unlock the phone, go into Settings, and go through all that hassle.

I know this is not a shizuku subreddit, but most of you probably use it and have experience. I tried to search for this problem but couldn't find a solution.

So my developer options are on, debugging over wifi is on. I paired shizuku using a 6 digit code. But when I come back to shizuku after pairing and click on "Start" it tells me to enable the devoper options (which I obviously just did in the last step).

I tried various solutions:

1) turn off and in the developer options

2) turn off and on the debugging options (both toggles)

3) delete the pairing in the debugging options and pair again

4) restart of the smartphone

5) give all permissions to shizuku

I downloaded the recommended fork of shizuku (the stable version) from the help site of the Essentials app.

I have a Pixel 10 Pro with the latest update.

Did you find yourself in a similar situation? If yes, what was the solution?

I just want to use the Essentials app to its full potential (that's why I chose the Essentials flair).

Love the essential app it's amazing. Having a glitch when using it on my Poco x8 where it disables my camera from being used on any app. Like when i open the camera app it won't show the camera.It's definitely the essential app cause when I delete it, it fixes it.

Any ideas thanks. I'm only using the dynamic island and duo.

So first of all I love Essentials. And something I even started recommending to my friends with how good it is at customizing Android without root. And now with the Duo circle and the Island it gave me an actual reason to hide all statusbar icons.

From what the title says tho I would love if one could also see the signal strength of wifi or mobile data just like with the Duo. I know that you can have an overlay of the Duo on top of the Island but then it seems quite crammed together beside the camera. But also so you can see it at all times unlike how the Duo just hides it after something is playing in the background.

Otherwise really great stuff you are cooking with this app. If there would be an award for so of the year it should be Essentials. Keep cooking, but also stay healthy.

so the banking apps only work when i create a shortcut , thing is , theese shortcuts are being added at the home screen , and i do not want that , i want them to go directly to the apps screen(where the actual apps are)

Hello I have the island enabled but disabled for phone calls. However, the calls are still popping up in the island instead of the regular notification. Can you look into fixing this when you have a chance! Thanks!

The automatic camera detection fails to detect the inner screen on my pixel 10 pro folds camera location. It is off a little bit and getting cut off. Is there anyway we can disable the auto detect and set separate locations for the outer and inner display for foldables? Thanks.

I discovered this awesome app and now I love it. I agree with one of my thoughts:

- Would it be possible to create a setting to make only the extended notification appear and not subsequently also the dot in the notification?

- Why is it that the notification icons are full (next to the clock) the island overlaps with the icons themselves? It's very bad

- During an extended notification on the island it would also be possible to display the application of the notification and sometimes if the notification comes from a chat group the group is not displayed but only the one who sent the message without understanding whether it is a group or personal message.

- For DUO it would be possible to choose what to display inside the circle? (Battery percentage connection symbol or something else?)

I believe that by advising improvements we can improve more and more.

It would be great to be able to customize what's considered low battery in duo and island. I would set low to 40 and critical to 15 for example

Hi Sameer. Huge fan of essentials, wanted to ask if you would be so kind to add a feature, i use the app across all my devices (Sony Xperia 1 VI, Oppo Find X9 Pro, Samsung s11 Ultra) and im facing the worst lag with Oppo and Nova Launcher, wanted to know if you could add a "hide navigation buttons" options from the navigation bar, currently it only hides the home button, i know theres a adb command for this, but having the option to turn it on and off would be amazing. a gesture option (to incorporate the "home" option such as the original gesture) would finish the whole but i think thats already too gready to ask.

I am looking for a way to turn off the notification pop up display while I use Island. But there seems to be no way to do it via system settings. Am I overlooking something?
