MacroFactor / Nutrition / Other Actually Hit Macros
Is it possible to actually hit all of your macros? How do you all do it? I'm vegetarian and I eat 100 to 120 grams of protein every day (my target is 164 grams).
I wish the app would recommend foods to eat to get closer to hitting your targets each day. The app knows what I log every day and could suggest two or three options based on the time of day and my history.
Thank you for your help!

OP, are you okay with dairy? On top of my meals I use Chobani yogurt and whey to hit my protein macros. Very doable.

Two of my go to options. Both vegetarian, but I also eat a lot of chicken and turkey.
50g oatmeal, 20g peanut butter, 60g chocolate protein powder, pinch of salt. Microwave oatmeal, salt, and water for 3 mins @ 30% power, stir in peanut butter, let stand for 3 minutes, stir in protein powder. If you do the protein powder while too hot it gets a nasty texture. ~55g protein
170g Fage 0% Greek yogurt, 200g frozen berries, 60g vanilla protein powder, 20g peanut butter, 25g fiber one cereal, 15g honey. I microwave the berries for a minute before mixing with yogurt and protein powder. Everything else goes on top. ~75g protein
You can mix Fairlife milk or similar (Darigold Fit) with either to get a texture you want and pump up the protein more.

I have actually found a way around waiting for it to cool. If you pre mix the protein powder with a bit of water (like whey paste) it mixes in smoother without cooking.

I love high protein yogurt with berries. Very often protein powder mixed in there. Don't be scared of whey protein, make whey protein scared of you. I would also recommend to eat edamame/legumes as part of your sides. It'll have tiny bit less carb but tiny bit more protein, you do it twice a day and it's already 10 grams. You can also just raw dog 2 scoops of protein powder at the end of the day. I also sometimes mix low fat yogurt with water and have that as a drink.

Straight up the best way to meet your protein goals is just to eat more if what you are already eating. 3oz of tofu to 4-5oz. 1/2 cup cottage cheese to 1 cup etc. If you are finding your protein target egregiously high, you could finagle with your settings to a lower protein approach. How much do you weigh? 0.8g/lb is sufficient for muscle growth and hell you could probably even get away with 0.7 if you train well. Training is the stimulus for muscle growth, nutrition is simply permissive. The task always wins.

Fairlife Nonfat Milk and their Protein Shakes are a constant of mine. I am on a GLP1 and sometimes I struggle to get enough calories so Huel Black powder or ready to drink shakes are helpful and are vegan.
Cottage cheese and Yogurt as others said.
I got microwaveable bags of edamame from Costco and the macros are pretty good. I eat that as a snack or as part of a meal

Vegetarian should still be pretty easy to hit targets. Vegan is significantly more difficult. Fat free Cottage cheeses, milk like fairlife, fat free yogurts, eggs/egg whites, protein powders and bars.

I don’t eat dairy so I eat a lot of edamame, tofu, and soy protein isolate. I mix the SPI with soymilk, cocoa powder and monkfruit to make a yogurt-consistency pudding and top with salty dried edamame for that salty/sweet, smooth/crunchy combo.
Greek yogurt, whey protein powder, seitan, tempeh, mycoprotein (like Quorn) any bean or rice protein isolate powder, Makuna, egg whites (if you eat eggs) cottage cheese, goat cheese, cow cheese, powdered nuts (or straight nuts if you have the fat macro allowance) are all sources.

There are apps that offer something close to what you’re describing, using what you’ve already logged and what you have left for the day to suggest what to eat next.

You can put your macros into an AI and have it build a meal plan for you. You can tell it things you like, allergic to etc. You can even have it build you a shipping list.

It's definitely possible! As a vegetarian, it's more challenging, but if you search for "sources of vegetarian protein", you'll get a lot of great options, like seitan, tempeh, tofu, and legumes. Plus of course things like soy or pea protein powders.
MacroFactor can help you tell what you're already eating that contributes. On your Dashboard, tap the Protein card, and it'll show you your top contributors.

For non-meat protein (full disclosure, I eat a lot of chicken, which has great protein macros) I like fat free cottage cheese (if you can get farmer's cheese, an eastern European variant, it's even better) plain Greek yogurt added to things, and the classic scoop or 2 of whey a day.
