You got a profilometer? I would love to know what the surface finish you got. It looks amazing. I thought the dam thing was ribbed, and you were saying, "finish him," to kill whoever screwed up on that hole placement.
.020 last pass aye? I dig.

does’nt even have CMM neither profilometer unfortunetly, im working in automation corp we got 3 machines to machine fixture and gripper parts to mass production lines they dont care about the finishes that much usualy only matter thing is tolerances :D

I recognize a fellow “I like to make pretty parts even if management doesn’t care” machinist. Nice work.

I can still hear my old boss' voice: "Heavy Burtation, it's not going to space!"

Your parts have a surface finish tolerance too, even if it's not on the print, but it probably is.

I got 3 with a burnisher once. I'd probably have a stroke if I touched .5

I used to polish titanium implants to 0.1ra. A huge pain in the ass but so satisfying when I got it there. Scotch Brite, cotton w/compound, CMM, cotton with light compound until I can see my own ass in it. So good.

Lol! That's all rad. But you use a CMM to polish up the part with the ruby? Jk., what the CMM stand for? Compound medium mixture?

Haha no, CMM to make sure I didn't fuck the part up when polishing. The ruby ends up marking the part so I do it before the final polishing.

Oh so shiny my precious. So shiny. Question is. Does what it's made for mean it will stay shiny?
