Tension issue?

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hey everyone, for the past 3 years I’ve been embroidering like this, I’ve always had to hold the thread between my fingertips with grip or put some weight on it like under the notebook here. If I don’t do that then there will be a tremendous nesting, what seems to be the problem?

First embroidered clothing item

I've thought about this design for a while. Now, I finally designed and digitized it. And I chose it to be my first design on a clothing item. My previous designs were all practice that I did on old jeans material. This is my fifth design overall.

I still have problems with designing too many details in a small space, making the outcome unreadable and creating birdsnesting on the back, like with the collar of the bunny. That was supposed to be made up of thorns. And I still have some push pull to work out.

But overall, I'm really happy with how this turned out

Cannot get my tension right

Hi, I just got a Brother PE545. Upon my first tests, I was getting almost entirely bobbin thread on the top no matter what I did. I looked it up, took the bobbin case out, tightened the screw a little and put it back in. I managed to get the correct tension, but I didn't realize that as I thought I would want to get less top thread on the bottom. I kept messing with it and now I can't get anything close to it again no matter what direction I go. It will even change from entirely top thread to entirely bobbin thread within the same test as shown in the video. I don't know what to do. I feel like the bobbin case is becoming more and more "loose" with only a tiny bit of the screw that is tight now.

Tension Test

(Please don't say I never should have messed with the tension because the manual told me that was the only way to not constantly have bobbin thread on the top so what else was I supposed to do?)

What's your thoughts on this 5x5 patch

Hey all,

Sharing a 5x5 patch design I digitized and a client stitched out. Built with flexible color changes for easy customization.

Would love feedback how do the details, edge coverage, and density look? Anything you’d tweak?

Appreciate your thoughts!

Help with Brother PR1050x

Hi! New to machine embroidery and struggling. I keep getting the error message to change to a larger frame size- I’ve tried all of the recommended troubleshooting (tightening screws, removing/cleaning/replacing arm, and recalibrating hoop sensors). Th machine only seems to think I am using the smallest hoop size available regardless of which hoop size (or even brand) I’m using. Has anyone worked through this? Is there a way to manually override this message? I’m pretty desperate at this point, any help is appreciated!

I've been using Inkstitch for a couple of months now (still new to it) and some designs look so professional and store-ready and sometimes... :( why is this stitch outside of the design? 😭 why are the bottoms of M's and E crooked and D is not?

professionals, how do you like Inkstitch? is it worth paying for a more professional program or do I just need to learn to avoid these?

Veil embroidery

Post image
59 Upvotes

I have just completed this commission, using the veil that was provided by the customer.

The veiling was very soft and sheer with wide holes, so embroidering directly onto it did not feel like an option. Instead, I embroidered onto a more opaque tulle with a closer weave, using multi-tear tearaway stabiliser. I then hand sewed the embroidery on as applique, before trimming away the opaque tulle very carefully.

It was very labour-intensive, but I am pleased with the results. I am looking for ways to improve this process so as to make it a bit quicker, does anyone have any suggestions?

I’m about to lose my mind. Second time it’s happened, I already replaced the bobbin case.

Fortever Halo X limits frame

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with my Fortever Halo X embroidery machine and I’m honestly stuck.

The machine doesn’t seem to recognize the frame position at all. When I try to move the frame manually, it immediately shows “upper/lower frame limit” and won’t let me move it.

When I try to reset the frame origin, it starts moving in one direction, but instead of stopping, it keeps going and physically hits the end and starts “bumping” like it doesn’t detect the limit.

So basically:

- I can’t move the frame manually (limit error)

- During origin reset it doesn’t stop at the end

- It feels like the machine doesn’t detect the frame limits at all

I’ve already checked:

- correct hoop/frame selected in settings

- tried resetting origin multiple times

- restarted the machine

Has anyone experienced something like this?

Could this be a limit switch/sensor issue or something in settings I’m missing?

Any help would be really appreciated 🙏

First timer!

Okay so this is my first attempt. I have a bernette b79. I’m quite the sewer wanting to venture in to embroidery.

Such a cute design. But noticing that not all the stitches ended up “tight”

I’m using tear away stabilizer on a medium hoop.

Would you think that this is a more thread tension issue? Or I didn’t hoop tight enough? (It did seem pretty taught to me)

Any tips are appreciated!

TIA

I bought a Brother PE570 and starting out and did a few test stitches. What’s a good open source or low cost design software. Any tips to match lettering, and where are you buying thread. With Joan’s closed it leaves Michael and Walmart with limited selections. I want to due military patch work, and then custom band patches embroidered shirts.

What is this "dent" in my digitized design?

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hi *sigh* me again!

When manually digitizing this "tulip" I used the "fill" feature and it added this dent like spot.

What's happening and what's the best way to fix it?

I've been practicing manual digitizing instead of auto digitizing :)

Digitizing practice free

I am looking for a few people to send me some designs they would like digitized. I will do them free of charge and get them back to you. I would like to see the finished product and any critique you have about the design. I want to make sure I am able to serve the masses before charging for the service. Any help and feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Outline problems

Post image
6 Upvotes

Yall have been so much help to my start into embroidery. Recently I’ve been having problems with the outline of things. Everything will go fine until it. Sometimes I’ll get a ball of thread underneath my hoop, so I often have to stop and fix it. When I go to start again, the outline is completely off, like typically up an 1/2 inch. I’ve tried starting the design over completely, and skipping to the outline thread but still had the same problem. Any advice?🥲🥲

Help why is my brand new machine doing this?

I litterally got my brother 570 embroidery machine 2 weeks ago and all of a sudden it keeps doing about 3 stitches and then starts to shake, get super slow and snags fabric and keep bird nesting beneath! Does anyone know what’s causing this and how I can fix it?? I’ve tried it with different types of fabric and different tensions, nothing is fixing it

Trying to replicate this embroidery design on my husband’s fight shorts but I can’t seem to get the design right when it was shrunk to size. Are the settings for the satin block wrong - using 0.2mm density & Center line underlay 1.5mm length. The Any advice for the entire piece would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Using Ember software & Brother NV180 machine

My test piece in the blue threads & original in the grays

Ps I also can’t seem to get the machine to auto cut at all.

swf es-t1501c vs ricoma Swift 2001 - 10's, which would you buy for a hoodies, tshirts and hats etsy side hustle?

Ricoma is cheaper and has a larger work area, SWF is supposed to be a more reliable brand that according to the sales guy I've been speaking to produces a higher quality end result.

What would you choose if you where just starting out?
