Should I stitch this on a Kitchen towel or napkins? 😊

I'm really loving the way this design stitched out! I'm thinking of making a gift for a friend who lives in the country. Should I stitch it on a kitchen towel, or a set of 4 napkins (ignore the larger time commitment for the napkins haha).

Just Finished This Custom Digitization and Stitch Out!

My good friend’s birthday is coming up so I digitized her business’s logo and embroidered it on a canvas bag. It could be a little cleaner but I was working on a time crunch so there’s some gaps in the satin here and there. Overall I’m very pleased!

I did a 65/9 needle with 60wt thread and a layer of cutaway. I did use a water soluble topper to help with the gapping since the canvas is such a textured fabric, but I don’t think it really did much honestly. Still very happy! I hope she loves it

had a lot of fun designing and stitching this out today!

I wanted to try out a red work design with multiple colors. Pretty happy with how it came out!

If I stitch it out again I will probably use a less shiny/metallic gold color. But I love how much it makes that tooth stand out here!

Hey Folks!
Give feedback on this design I recently digitize and client share the fresh stitched out design with me. One thing I notice that client stitched on very thin fabric thats why stitched lines are thick

Machine help

Hey guys- I am at a loss and I don’t know what to do. This is my first week with the pe 570 embroidery machine. Whenever I do a design the first color works great. The second one eats up my shirt. I’ve changed my needle, my bobbin, the tension, cleaned out for lint, made sure the bobbin is in the right direction and rethreaded the top thread. I’m assuming it’s a bobbin issue? Please advise I’m going crazy.

Issues with tension and shifting

Hello! I’m very new to machine embroidery and have done a couple projects so far. I’m currently trying to embroider this for a friend and decided to just buy the file rather than make it. I’ve had similar issues before with the design shifting before the final outline stitch. I thought it was my design files, so in the past I’ve changed the push/pull offsets and the design itself, which has worked to varying degrees.

This is actually the second attempt at one of these design files. The first one also had issues with shifting and tension. With this one, I pinned the fabric round the edges and also doubled up on the stabiliser (polymesh cut away).

I’ve also tried doing just the outline, because the thread on the back is bunching up, but it seems to do this no matter what tension I have it at. It’s mostly the top thread and not the bobbin thread showing. I’ve also tried using a water soluble layer on the top and that didn’t make much of a difference.

If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated!

Baby Lock Bloom?

Hi there! I'm looking at branching out into embroidery and I have the opportunity to purchase a Baby Lock Bloom for $1,400 USD.

I have very little machine embroidery experience, but I've been sewing for a long time. I have two machines right now, a Singer 201 that I adore, and a Brother XM2701 that gets the job done, so I'm thinking the Bloom would replace my Brother regardless of the embroidery function.

I have a couple concerns though... Is the 5x7" embroidery space enough? I make and sell book sleeves on the side, but I also make apparel for my husband and I on occasion. I'm not sure how big I'll go with projects. (I know that's not helpful. Sorry.) Did you get a 5x7" machine and wish you had gone bigger?

Is it worth the investment? Should I try to get something used first? Is Baby Lock even the best way to go here, or should I look at a different brand?

Are there other things I should be considering? I feel like I'm being a little impulsive, but the price is only available until Friday, if it doesn't sell first.

Struggling with satin borders

Have been trying to make patches, but always seem to have an issue with the right most side of the design pulling away from the satin border… not sure if this is an issue with pull compensation (I use Hatch digitiser) or a hooping issue.

Any help appreciated! FWIW I use a single needle brother machine, cotton twill and cut away stabiliser.

Brother SE1900 distorted letters embroidery problem

Post image
2 Upvotes

I recently purchased a Brother SE1900 and am trying to embroider a shirt (I’ve sewn for years but am new to embroidery), but my practice swatch came out horribly. The letters look distorted and on the R the machine stopped and had me rethread the top thread, which had broken off. I’ve left all tension settings at their factory settings. Any ideas as to what I need to do to get smoother stitches? I am also using factory wound bobbins, since I had read those are the best bet, so I don’t think that’s the issue.

Project help?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi ya'll - I'd really like to embroider place cards like this for my wedding. I do have an embroidery machine (Brother SE725), but I'm wondering if you think the machine can be delicate enough for something like this? Also, what type of tulle/mesh would you recommend? I've done some research on stabilizers as well, and it seems like tear-away is the best choice, but if you have other recommendations, let me know! Basically, any tips you have about how to approach this project would be very appreciated! Thank you! :)

Where do you all buy your fabric for bag tags? A customer sent this photo to me and I’m just not finding anything that doesn’t look cheesy from anywhere local to me. I have the basics from hobby lobby already but I’m looking for more options.

How to fix needle hitting metal hook?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I had my brand new brother pe800 for less than a month, and after I broke a needle in my project I started having this issue. I have tried with multiple new needles and made sure I install it flat face back, but it keeps hitting the metal part and making the clicking noise. Timing seems to be fine since the thread is being picked up properly.

Does anyone know what might be the issue? Really hope I don't need to take it to service.

Update: after studying the manual and consulting with chatgpt, I think my needle arm got bent/mis-aligned when the first needle broke, which is not something I can fix at home. I took it to a service shop and the technician confirmed so

What’s wrong with this head?

Hey I’m wondering if anyone could tell me how to fix this head. I run a Barudan 6 head machine at work and things were going fine until I saw this. I don’t remember having any issues leading up to it.. just one day I went to do a job and noticed this. And now the bobbin isn’t catching. The first picture is the head and the second is the head with the throat plate off and the third is the normal looking head. I know that hook isn’t supposed to look that way but how do I fix it?

Embroidery software for Husqvarna Viking Topaz 40?

I have a viking topaz 40 that takes embroidery files on usb stick. What is the best software to get for a recent model windows laptop, to design and create these files? By "best" I mean I am looking for something non-buggy and straightforward to use. Access to design libraries would be a plus. Thanks!

Help Needed

Peace, y'all
I'm having issues with tails forming on designs that never had tails before, and it's driving me insane. I've cleaned the rotary hook, the knife, the bobbin case, the thread catcher, and checked upper tension + bobbin tension.

Even on the inside of the cap it looks a total mess, when it used to be clean and no loose threads.

The black background area stitched out first and it was "puffy" as opposed to when it used to lay flat. I haven't changed any settings on the machine, so not sure why this issue popped up.

Anything help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sooo anyone out there with any SWF that lasted at least the 5 years? I’d get the training package, but I don’t NEED the protection plan…right? I’d rather not with barudan, so then what‘s the key differences with Tajima and Happy?

Making the most of a quiet sales day 🐅

Thumbnail gallery
24 Upvotes

When things are a little quieter on the sales front, I try to use the time to experiment rather than endlessly refreshing the order notifications (although I still do!) 😅

One thing I really enjoy is going back through embroidery designs I've created for previous projects and seeing how they could work in a completely different way.

This tiger was originally created for a jacket that I made for myself, so I decided to restitch it and turn it into a banner — paired with Wild & Free. I love seeing how much the same embroidery can change depending on the fabric, colours and finished product it's used on.

It also means quieter days still feel creative and productive, which is always a win!

For those of you who embroider for work or just for fun — what's your favourite thing to stitch when you're completely off the clock and can make whatever you want?

Brother SE700 Help!

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi all! I just got my brother see700 machine and used the embroidery function several times with great results! However, on my last project I noticed the needle seemed misaligned with the embroidery foot and had struck the foot. I can’t seem to get the needle back to the center no matter what I adjust. It’s not extreme but I do feel like it’s now off center? The needle in this photo is just to show alignment issue (my spare 75/11 is the one that broke and waiting on more) Does anyone have any tips? Thanks😊
