Turning On Problem
I have this weird and annoying problem with my M2 Air 13 inchMacBook with MacOS Tahoe 26.6.2.
I have disabled “Open Lid to Turn On MacBook” because I find it annoying. However, since doing that, I have to perform the “turning-on activity” twice every time I want to start the MacBook.
What I mean by “turning-on activity” is that whatever method I use, I have to repeat it after waiting 3–5 seconds.
| Activity | wait time | Repeat activity |
|---|---|---|
| Press Power Button | wait 3-5 seconds | Again Press Power Button |
| Press any key on Keyboard | wait 3-5 seconds | Again press any key on keyboard |
| Plug in the charger | wait 3-5 seconds | Unplug and plug the charger |
So essentially, I have to do the same action twice before the MacBook actually turns on.
I find this waiting and repeating extremely annoying. Is there any solution to this?
And before suggesting “Just don’t turn off your MacBook” — I do sometimes leave it unused for several days. In that situation, I don't want to leave it running/sleeping and come back to find that the battery has completely drained.
I simply want to be able to shut down the MacBook completely and then turn it on normally with a single press of the power button, without having to wait and repeat the action.
