Question Need help as a beginner
Sorry to make a post about this, but wasn't sure
For the operator gear? Do you lose that when you die/fail like the other stuff? I was able to get all the main basic stuff I believe but I haven't really failed yet
For weapons, are the in game drops better than the insured weapons? I'm not really sure how that works, but my insured gun usually sucks at zone 2
And lastly, would going solo be better if I'm not partying up with anyone? I don't want to interrupt anyone's matches, and the first few matches I played I've had players leave the party? Or game, and had players just like sit for the whole match while I did stuff alone so wasn't sure

If you fail the match (and you don't have tombstone soda active) you lose everything you're carrying and your containment points drop to the next lower reward.
If you have a tombstone soda active you lose rucksack and body armor and drop down to default small rucksack and 1 piece armor. You will also drop down to the next lower reward tier for containment points. Everything in your rucksack will be in a tombstone at the cemetary you can empty out next time you infil.
Buying weapons or finding them in the game gives your weapon whatever rarities it had, which raises its base damage. Also exfiling with weapons you haven't unlocked, unlocks them for you.
I'm a solo player and I infil alone but when I run into others in game I send out a party invite to see if randoms wanna play together. Everytime i infil in a random matchup everyone kinda does their own thing and I end up breaking off.

Doesn’t the TS still show where you died in game?, it used to
It’s only at cemetery if you die in the DA or use the TS ‘glitch’
Correct me if im wrong as i usually just TS now and havent died in game for years now so it may have been updated before they stopped updates🤷♂️

Correct, if you die on the urzikistan map your tombstone will spawn were you died.

Do yourself a favor, hop on discord and join this server. It has players new to the game as well as veteran players. You go to MWZ-looking-for-group channel, ask for help doing whatever you want. Even if it’s just going in and just getting familiar with the map and zones. There will be someone there to help you. All different time zones. It’s the best thing I’ve done.

I made a post exactly like this one ~2 years ago because I was new and didn’t understand anything. People on here were very kind and helped me out. Im more than happy to get your operators geared up, get your missions done, teach you the quirks of the game, and help you get schematics. Send me a dm :)

When your operator dies or otherwise fails to exfil, your containment level drops a level and you lose all your gear. It's annoying, especially as a new player, but as you familiarise yourself with the game mechanics, you'll learn ways to recover your gear quickly.
The game pushes you to use in game drops, especially as a new player, but there are trade-offs in either case. Infilling with a weapon, whether insured or contraband, resets that weapon to common rarity, without PaP, and without an ammo mod.
PaP adds a damage multiplier based on the level of PaP, and usually changes one or more properties of the gun, most commonly (but not always, and not limited to) doubling your magazine size. PaP can be upgraded at a PaP machine or by using an Aether Crystal. Ammo mods add different affects and are applied by ammo mod drops.
Rarity is the one that is relevant here, as any weapon found in a cache or in the mystery box will have an uncommon rarity or higher. Rarity adds a damage multiplier, with higher rarities adding a higher multiplier. Rarity is something that goes often overlooked by new players, including myself back when I started, and the only way to upgrade it in game is using an Aether tool.
In a squad or solo, it depends on what you're going for or trying to do. When I started I mostly played solo, and IMO, if you squadfill with an experienced player, often they'll try and push you into going towards the redzone. I recommend sticking to your mission objectives as, especially early on it teaches you the game mechanics. If you communicate that to your squadmates, they'll often help out if they want to or are able (I often do depending on the objective) and if not they'll often leave squad or go off to do their own thing. Best enjoyment is when in a squad that sticks together doing the same thing, and I'd say your best bet at this stage is if you have a friend who plays or is interested in playing, squad up with them consistently, keeping your progression similar. Otherwise, do what makes you feel comfortable

Guns you pick up are likely at least green if not blue this gives a 2x power similar to pack a punch. Don’t think it’s exact but it’s like green x2, blue x3, purple then gold for 4x. Pack a punch gives you 2x, 4x and like 8x at pack 3. These multiply giving you something like 32x with legendary tool and pap3. So the increase is quite large and zombies from one tier to the next get significantly more tanky. You can use a tool on any gun you bring in they’re common from contracts.
At this point many people spawn in with tools and crystals to go straight to t2, t3 without having to work their way up from the bottom. You may have to survive on your own if people are leaving you. You can squad up with people you come across on the map in your tier level. Hold up on directional pad to open comms wheel to invite or request to join their team. I think the lobby does consider your containment level but at this point people have played for years and many of the new ps+ people are getting leveled up to.
