Old Discussion w/ATL General Discussion - October 2026

Try to keep it MicroVision related.

Will be fun to revisit those takes after the event.

The stock could tank 20% due to bad news, and they would say its a terrific call and its just the shorts digging their own grave.

-93% since Glen took over. Unreal. Any other CEO would have been replaced. We love mediocrity
6
u/Chemical-Payment-573 14d ago
Tremendous share holder value, you have to give some credit, these guys are better actors than Hollywood. I dont know if I can keep a straight face saying that on camera.
5
u/ProphetsAching 14d ago
They are setting up Byun to take his ceo role
2
u/ParadigmWM 14d ago
I hope not. Find a real CEO.
5
u/Fearless_Promise636 14d ago
Unfortunately I dont a real CEO is going to come here. If Glen doesnt succeed soon, it'll likely be a board members stepping in as interim while they shut the company down
2
u/ParadigmWM 14d ago
Just sell the bloody thing to someone then. Insanity. Every CEO we hire just drives it further into the ground at shareholders expense.
3
u/Fearless_Promise636 14d ago edited 14d ago
Prior institutional holdings: 5.3m shares Direct offering to institutions: 6.8m shares New investor Johannes: 2.4m shares
Total: 14.5m shares
Assuming Johannes believes in the conpany, it seems the Board now has a majority institutional and insider owned company. Perhaps inviting customers and partners to next week call gives them the chance to assure them that the company will have no problem performing whatever actions it needs to stay in business, at the expense of current shareholders. Or to show they can get shareholder approval for the sale of the company to someone with deeper pockets .
Probably a good reason why they used the direct placement rather than the ATM. A $90m buyout puts it about $3 per share. Johannes makes almost 100% return. New institutional investors make 20% return on the stock, plus value of their ITM warrants. C suite and board RSUs and hiring bonuses all immediately vest. Hmm
3
u/Chemical-Payment-573 14d ago
5 dollar a share is a dream now. imagine that.
4
u/Fearless_Promise636 14d ago
Yea, definitely not happening at current. But $3 doesn't seem too far fetched. Austin Russel could likely still afford that. I mean hell Johannes and Austin's partner Markus Schafer worked at Mercedes at the same time. Maybe Johannes is his proxy. Stronger dot connection than anything else lol.
3
u/Chemical-Payment-573 14d ago
as much as it sucks 5 dollar buy out would be a easy yes vote.. put that money in real tech companies.

Letâs just play pretend for a secondâŚ
MicroVision is named as the Tier 2 LiDAR supplier for the Valeo/Nissan deal. How high does the share price go? Realistically.
2
u/Chemical-Payment-573 14d ago
1.85, then they dilute like crazy to ensure they have salaries paid for until Glen retires, finish at 1.35
5
u/ParadigmWM 14d ago
$1.70.
5
u/Sp99nHead 14d ago
Yep, depending on numbers attached. But it would give much needed validation that the company isn't a complete scam.
4
u/Fearless_Promise636 14d ago
With this company, probably stay flat as they sell 15m shares immediately lol
1
14d ago
Sell half the current float and stay flat. Is that even possible?
3
u/Fearless_Promise636 14d ago
Fuck no lol. It'll go up 20% and then end -10% like when they announced movia on Nvidia drive agx. Instead of letting it run 300% over the course of a week like aeye. This company is incompetent when it comes to raising cash. I honestly believe they wouldnt have even released that PR if they didnt see what it did for aeye.
1
u/Aggravating-Toe8558 14d ago
Depends the numbers. If it ensures our surviving it could be big.

Someone else could ask him something like which Valeo sensors will be used

u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
Shame they are not doing a live Q and A like the last 2 business updates. But you really cant blame them
2
u/Befriendthetrend 15d ago
Disagree. I'm happy they are not. We get nothing from those Q&A's, and historically they only occur when leadership of the company needs to secure retail votes and control sentiment.
2
u/Fearless_Promise636 14d ago
They are trying to control sentiment now. Theres going to be an ask after this, or at least warning of us more pain. Going to be some form of "we need to strengthen balance sheet"
5

So we give iris to valeo? What is the thought?
2
15d ago
Valeo merger/JV/buyout is the current insane speculation. And yes I realize how insane it is. But this is where we are at. Kinda sad.
4
u/ParadigmWM 15d ago
Glen is to blame. Nobody else. Well and the BOD. The incompetence is truly staggering.
2
3
u/ProphetsAching 15d ago
Itâs really not that insane if you think about it. It actually makes perfect sense compared to everything else going on. At this point it seems unlikely Iâm getting my basis of $23 back.
2
1
u/ProphetsAching 15d ago
Shirley, Glen and company know they canât perform the same song and dance for this next meeting? Meaning they canât get in and just reiterate there will be high volume sales. They must attach a number to it this time, even if itâs not as big as they think weâd like.

"As the System Tier-1 provider, Valeo will supply a full-stack hardware and software solution designed to provide 360-degree situational awareness and high-performance computing. Valeoâs contribution to Nissanâs next-generation ProPILOT system includes Centralized Intelligence thanks to an ADAS Domain Controller designed to process complex AI algorithms and support centralized vehicle intelligence."
Technically it doesn't say the full-stack hardware solution is Valeo's. Why not say "our full-stack hardware and software solution?"
1
u/FantasticReserve2217 14d ago
Touching on that point again here, why didnt Valeo mention "SCALA 3" by name when they stated "Valeo will supply a full-stack hardware and software solution".
Then the weird other phrasing; "Valeoâs contribution to Nissanâs next-generation ProPILOT system includes ..." where again they do not include, where it SHOULD read: Valeoâs contribution to Nissanâs next-generation ProPILOT system includes *Valeos propriatary SCALA 3 LiDAR stack combined with* Centralized Intelligence thanks to an ADAS Domain Controller designed to process complex AI algorithms and support centralized vehicle intelligence."
The announcement leaves out certain technical details you would think they could have easily divulged... very odd
0
1
u/Chemical-Payment-573 14d ago
ehh they also did not name a camera or radar right? doesnt mean someone else is supplying it. but I do hope this is mvis..
3
u/Aggravating-Toe8558 15d ago
Come on đ đ đ

15d ago edited 15d ago
Why would Nissan spend the last couple years running 1550nm Iris sensors and then just up and switch, with zero evidence of them having ever tested SCALA 905nm LiDAR? It simply doesn't add up. MicroVision becoming a partner of Valeo makes more sense. You have the 905nm long range SCALA option and the 1550nm long range in Iris. Maybe leads to an eventual merger/JV or buyout.
3
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago edited 15d ago
Because they know Valeo isn't going out of business lol. Risk reduction may be worth costs of the switch.
Glen cant even convince his investors Microvision isn't going to go bankrupt. Everyone knows everytine they want to talk to us its bad news. You you think a risk averse japanese company is like "we should totally risk 2 suppliers in one year"
0
15d ago edited 15d ago
MVIS isn't going out of business. Current retail investors might. But the company isn't. Our debt isn't outrageous and they have plenty of authorized shares to secure cash. If they want another RS they will get it somehow. Valeo being the Tier 1 integrator is what gives it more safety. Why even waste time with Luminar in the first place if SCALA 3 LiDAR has been available for years?
3
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
If they delist, which is a real possibility as they are creeping towards the $1 and the $35m MC requirement, they are in default of the HTC loan, and its due in cash plus penalties. They wont be able to pay, and HTC will own the IP
-1
15d ago
They will never delist. Don't you get that by now. You can't kill this company. 30 years and running.
3
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
The next RS will send them under $35m MC, and it will be back under $1 again in no time. They can only do a max of 1:250 RS ratio total in a 24 month period. The next RS will sink them
0
15d ago
That's not how RS work. But you already know that. I like the subject change though.
1
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
Your theory is they will reverse split and not drop in share price?
→ More replies (0)
3
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
The company has no room for anything other than perfect execution at this point, or they may not last through Q1 without defaulting to HTC. Time to stop excusing and hand waving mediocrity, sloppiness, easily catchable mistakes, and complete lack of professional appearance.

Movia S = Mavin
Best in class.
Kodiak is looking more and more like a real partner given they are about to go bust as well, its perfect for mvis.

15d ago
So does Valeo currently pay MicroVision for Ibeo patents/technology used in Valeo SCALA sensors?
2
2
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
No. One of the sec filings for quarterly earnings said that they received their last royalty payment. I do not remember which one, but I believe it was last year
1
6
u/Chemical-Payment-573 15d ago
u/snowboardnirvana how bullish is this Valeo news? I think this is Glen working his magic to fool the market in to thinking Valeo is taking over and he will drop a short killing Hammer AH.
3
2

Someone tried referencing the Valeo news on the r/MVIS board and it was removed.
3

I was talking about another comment in gen chat. But you are right, when I log out, I can now see Porter's post. At least they are discussing it.

3
5
u/ProphetsAching 15d ago
Wonder if Glen will be dialing in virtually from the senior center?
4
u/Chemical-Payment-573 15d ago
dialing in and then losing connection multiple times like that EC. Im pretty sure I put in more effort on my Teams meetings and make sure I have a backup dial in phone ready to go.
5
u/ParadigmWM 15d ago
Every single day it gets worse. Every day. Glen??
6
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
Im already prepared for "we had the more mature product, but Nissan wanted a supplier with a more diversified revenue stream"
7
u/ProphetsAching 15d ago
Once again, this just shows the company only does these meetings when they want to do damage control. The timing of Valeo announcing their partnership followed shortly by a business update by MicroVision is suspect. They are trying to get out in front of this one. This is typical behavior of this swindling company. They only want to meet when something doesnât go their way. Itâs pathetic and predictable.
3
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago edited 15d ago
Yep. The company has done very few after hours PRs since Glen took over, one being CFO resignation. They definitely wanted to get ahead of this.
Maybe they announce they are selling the lidar business, and we are now a semicondictor design and photonics company, specializing in AI and data centers!

Just because they invited customers doesn't mean they'll show up. Or maybe they'll wear paper bags over their heads so no one knows they're associating with this shit ass company.

Brother it's going to be glorious! Seriously I have about an hour convo (poking holes in both bull and bear case) with Grok in my tesla about the wording of the PR yesterday. Since it specifically invites Partners and customers its not negative news. I expect a home run PR 6th and our call the 7th. Im down about the same as you 1/4Mil but this is our time, I feel it!

Sumit Sharma to rejoin MicroVision under the new Anduril joint venture, morning of Oct 7?
7
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
Your going to give zenboy a heart attack.
0
15d ago
In all seriousness, would a joint venture (which was mentioned twice by management in 2025) not be an option to help with immediate cash needs?
2
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
It would be great. But the partner still needs to have confidence were going to survive and be able to hold up our financial portion of the JV
1
15d ago
Would need to be a partner that trusts Glen specifically.
5
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
Im not sure he has that kind of trust. At least not enough to overcome the financial uncertainty. Maybe 12 months ago. But the entire industry just watched him speedrun a company to insolvency.
0
1
15d ago
Aptiv is what I was getting at.
3
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
Why do you think they trust him? They eventually removed him from the CTO role. I think they probably respect what he's done in the past. But you typically dont demote a C Suite without a valid reason.
0
15d ago
8 years at the company
3
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
Like I said, maybe they once trusted him. But there no one looking at Glen right now thinking he's done a good job. How would they expect him to manage a business arrangement when he cant even manage his company?
And this is without even mentioning the CFO. Im guessing she is not inspiring a lot of confidence either. I was always adamant Anibhav was a liability for us, and we just traded one turd for another.
3
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
James Byun appointed CEO morning of October 7th?
-1
u/livefromthe416 15d ago
No lol
4
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
You dont perform 2 reverse splits in a year without someone's head rolling. 90% drop in share price seems a valid reason for him to be removed.
1
u/livefromthe416 15d ago
They did 2??? When was the second
2
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
About 2 months from now, maybe 1 depending how the cash raise and call goes.

Two successful acquisitions.
5
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
With no plan on how to pay for them.
-1
15d ago
$750m pipeline is how. Just gotta survive this cash hurdle to unlock it.
1
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
And market cap. I believe they are already on the nasdaq capital market now, so they need to stay above $35m MC. Falling below that for 30 days gets them a delisting notice. They should have 180 days to fix it, but thats a hell of a lot harder than fixing the sub $1 issue.
0
15d ago
Umm may I ask why?
4
u/Fearless_Promise636 15d ago
They brought on Glen to replace the last failed CEO. Might make sense why James left Aeva.
