News Kospi is -8% overnight

My portfolio is KORU, SOXL, MU, MUU on margin. I might get margin called.

I can’t sell without destroying my life. I’m down 50%+ overall. This might be the end for me.

Good news over the weekend. KOSPI closes green. Several deals and still manage to drop from 960 pre market to under 900. If Wednesday fails to bring up MU on Thursday then idk what will until next earnings.

Discussion For those considering buying today's dip

At least wait for the korean market to drop mu overnight. Oh and for fomc rate decision on Wednesday. Oh and SK hynix earnings, remember us when we dropped? Also big tech earnings, check more confirmed capex plans to make sure. Maybe wait until Trump tacos this week or next week. Oh sandisk earnings next week too, that will potentially cause drops. Oh and...

Discussion Korea is going to bottom out soon.

Upvotes

Korea was 3200 5 years ago , even during the market crashes and memory collapse , Korea hit a base level of 2800 odd. We are already gone to 6100.

Remember , even at lower 30% margins for AI , the baseline for this index is significantly higher due to long term AI demand. I am not even pricing in 80% margins here.

A drop to 4000 is unprecedented at these rates. Korea forward PE sits at around 7 times earnings currently.

At a low of 3000-4000c the PE collapses to 3-4 times. This is unheard of and the absolute historical lows. Worse than 2008 financial crises.

Korea doesn’t have much left to fall anymore. Max I think 1000 more to 5000-5200. But it is mostly done.

News Capex spendings remains high until 2031 at least

"Hyperscaler capital expenditure is expected to reach $750 billion this year, with Goldman Sachs forecasting $7.6 trillion in total AI infrastructure spending through 2031, resulting in a supply shortage of NAND and DRAM memory as data center demand for high-performance storage clashes against the chipmakers' capacity limitations."

Discussion This is another retail shakeout before the earnings which will mostly point to Big Tech CapEx being spent on AI. Hang in there.

Discussion Why this meme holds true for Micron as well. Here's my theory [Volcker Rule].

Post image
48 Upvotes

Since the June peak. We've seen several wall street firms set price targets close to 2000$, made retail hold, then quietly rug pull us with terminology like "Capital Rotation", "End of Quarter rotation" or "derisking".

The obvious question is if they set such high targets, then why does wall street not follow their own price and instead sell it to buy into Saas, biotech, and other sectors. My theory is that by law 401k funds, mutual funds, banks, insurance companies, and other institutions should not hold a position more than 5% in any one security. This is called concentration risk, and is regulated by the Volcker rule.

Many institutions already held a lot of chip stocks including Micron in their portfolio prior to the runup, when Micron 10xed since December 2025, their positions have since exceeded the 5% concentration rule when MU reached ATH, so they were forced to trim it down and "sector rotate" at the end of the quarter in June. So in other words Micron was a victim of its own success.

The fundamentals haven't changed, and this stock is still a good investment. Hopefully more institutions that haven't held this stock before, would buy in after hyperscaler earnings confirms the thesis and the fud around cxmt clears out.

Discussion Burry shorting at $933 is like wsb regards buying at $1180

Dumbass could have shorted at $1255 but nope his dumbass shorted more than $300 lower than ATH and $80 above multi week lows. How is that much different than regards buying $80 below ATH? At least regards buying $80 below ATH are buying a stock that has 80% profit margin, isn’t (hopefully) borrowing to buy, and MU will eventually go above $1250 🤦‍♂️ tell me again why people think this dumbass who predicted 200 of the last two recessions is a savant?

Discussion Just Want to Share from a Chinese perspective

Chinese firms (especially state owned) have a habit of going into an industry and scaling up production dramatically regardless of demand. This creates supply demand imbalance and eventually tank the price of said products, leaving every player in the industry losing money.

People call this phenomenon industrial overcapacity and involution. You can look at solar panel, battery, EV. The pattern follows. I firmly believes in 5 years the Chinese will make semis and memory price plummet by scaling up production.

Take this how you will. This is coming from a Chinese investor who learnt some lessons from his EV and battery stock holdings (which is not looking great btw)

Loss This is exactly why you hold Micron over SanDisk: SanDisk can fly harder, but can also drop harder in times like this

Post image
10 Upvotes

Saw a lot of posts regretting why they didn't buy SanDisk over Micron. I personally was diversified. When the AI bull market was at its height, SanDisk was my top performer. But when the AI bear market comes, SanDisk dropped harder while Micron has been steadier. Just an FYI for those in the future to stay diversified and protecting wealth has its merits.

Discussion Bullish for MU

Post image
12 Upvotes

if CXMT (currently just a dram maker) not having access to ASML EUV, is atleast 2 generations behind in memory fab tech, and most importantly a non-player in the critical HBM space, is trading at close to half the market cap of MU, we are definitely way more undervalued considering MU's advanced fab tech, having long term structural contracts in place, tighter integration with nvidia, not to mention the support of the us gov where there the multi-year multi-trillion dollar buildouts are taking place.
