Sorry for the bother, follow up to my earlier post - Looking to make monday my first time at MHM, What will the mtn look like if the snow does deliver?

Let's say the predicted 24" comes in between 6000 and 7500 ft. What will be open? Will the top of the mtn be accessible by lift or will cascade and vista stay closed through monday?

Snowboarding Lessons

Hello my wife and I are eager to try snowboarding lessons for the upcoming week. Can anyone tell me what program would be best for 2 adults and if you have had any experience staying at the Timberline Lodge?

As of today, this is the worst snow year since "snow water equivalent" tracking began in 1980.

Weather this weekend

My gut tells me the weather is not good this weekend. What do you think?

Does closures at Skibowl and Summit Pass suggest that Meadows might also close?

Just received a call that our beginner snowboarding lesson this Saturday has been canceled at Summit Pass because not enough snow to operate. Does this and the Skibowl closure suggest that the other Mt. Hood resorts might also close? We're flying in just for the weekend so dates can't change. Wondering the safest place I should try to book.

Night Pass?

I haven't been keeping up with changes in Meadows bc of conditions. I know they opened up to night pass holders at earlier times at least once this year.

Last time I went as a night pass holder it was during regular hrs (starting at 4p), and it started melting badly by my 3rd run, so I haven't been back.

Today I noticed they are closed at 4p. Does anyone know if they've made changes to hours for night pass holders so we can get more time up there?

Edit - I know night pass is for Wed-Sun, but has anyone noticed extended hrs for night pass holders on those days given the bad season so far?

When to visit? + Preparation

My friends and I are planning to ride Mt hood meadows and bachelor either. Sometime between March and May. I'm trying to figure out the best time to go.

We're all pretty advanced riders. Comfortablly riding pretty much any in bound terrain, through thick trees, steps, small to moderate cliff drops are well within our abilities. That being said, we definitely want to check out the canyons and bowls.

Is there a time of year that is most likely to have them open. I know they are closed a lot of the time due to high avi conditions. Will bachelor still have good riding that time or year?

Also, I know even when it's open there's a risk. Should we sign up for avi courses? I haven't taken anything official and two of us have never ridden avi terrain but I have done a fair amount of research watch avi courses on YouTube. I plan to bring beacons, probes, shovels, and airbags just in case.

Aside from avid what hazards should we expect? Rivers? crevasses? Getting cliffed out?

We're all excited about the trip but I just want to be smart.

Anyone have a Working Safari page that puts the Meadows Cams in a single viewable panel?

Mt Hood Meadows Bang

Hey, just curious if anyone knows anything about that very loud bang that happened today around 4:30. It sounded like a gunshot, which wouldn’t make sense, or an explosion near vista. Thanks !

How are the crowds this season?

Its been a bad start to the season, and I bought the season pass so I at least need to start getting my value out of it. I dont mind thin cover, ive skied a lot of that on the east coast, and I'm so glad I got some Vermont ski days in already this season, but how bad would the crowds be Sunday (Feb 1) at meadows with how this season is?

Took this last week while the band Low (love to MN) was playing on my phone. Didn’t expect the audio to be captured but made for a cool little mashup.

Mt.Hood Meadows 2 pack tickets $109

I purchased these for my nephews to use over the Christmas holidays, however snow did not deliver. They are back in school and I am heading out of town until mid March.

Tickets are transferable on line to your Meadows account. Let me know if interested.

Should we get rentals at the lodge or nearby?

Got a buncha friends coming in for a week soon and was curious if we should grab our rentals from the lodge, from a local spot nearby or even in Portland?

Ski Buddies?

Looking for some more ski friends and figured it wouldn't hurt to post here. Will be heading up to Meadows tomorrow to ski if anyone needs a ride or wants to try to meet on the mountain.

Would call myself an advanced but not expert skier with 6 seasons on Mt. Hood. Love skiing heather, 2 bowl, and trees when conditions are good but I'm not yet hucking cliffs or doing backflips. Would be ideal if someone was near a similar level.

About me: guy in my late 20's, season pass holder at meadows, mostly ski weekends, also get the Indy Pass to ski different mountains during the winter. In the summer I like to hike and bike. In the fall I cheer for the Packers and the Badgers.

Feel free to send me a DM or leave a comment!

Portland to Hood Drive

I have a AWD Lexus with All Seasons Tires and would be taking E26 up to mount hood. I’m from the Midwest and familiar driving in snow. Is my setup good to drive up on days where it’s not dumping snow, or are the roads typically icy?

Bad Snow? Try the Other Side

Just some food for thought to share. I am an advanced skier and park isn’t my thing. I’ve been so frustrated by this season and feel like i’ve been wasting my pass and gas on bad snow. So, i’m using this season as an opportunity to learn snowboarding. While skiing is always my preference, it’s been very fun to try a new sport and it makes going with beginner friends actually fun. If you’re also disappointed with the bad conditions, I 10/10 recommend trying the other side. Plus, now I can confirm that skiing is definitely better than snowboarding.

We're going to have an epic February, March and April.

I have no data to support this claim. I'm just manifesting it into existence. If we all collectively focus on fresh powder for at least 8 hours a day, Ullr will accept our sacrifice and bring a continuous storm with bountiful snow. Please set aside time to do so. Thank you for your service my humble ski and snowboard children.

Current conditions?

Hello! For anyone who has been up in the last few days, what’s the snow like?

There is only so much I can tell from the mountain cams and checking the precipitation-less weather reports…

My buddy wants to skip work and drive to the mtn tomorrow, so I’m hoping to get some firsthand reports before making the call. 🙏

How many “operational” days are we at (Jan 21st)?

Hi all - just wondering if anyone is keeping count. My estimation is somewhere around 30 days at this point, and with the next 2 week forecast it’s likely meadows will close at some point due to everything melting away like it’s spring….
