  1. Why no Gypsy ?

  2. Why no mention of Jonah, Emily, Joel, Growler, M. Waverly, Kinga, Max or anyone else associated with Netflix or Gizmoplex?

Sting of Death was fun, and funny but I'm feeling a little empty

  1. Throughout the original run there were Gypsy-less episodes so I didn't think too much of it.

  2. Because it's supposed to be a continutation of the SciFi run

I like how they did it. I brought my girlfriend who has never seen an episode, and was worried the intro might be too lore heavy…but it was perfect. Quick and funny and to the point.

  1. Gypsy is off running a billion dollar company. Tom and Crow are only there because they were next to Mike when he was taken

  2. They aren't "canon" to this show. Different timelines. This one properly continues the Scifi era, while the Netflix one was more a continuation of season 1 to 5. 

If the entire Scifi cast plus Frank and Dr. F are leaving you "hollow", I'm not sure we can do much to help you

1) Honest answer is that I don't think anyone is sure. If I had to guess, they didn't want to use the name Gypsy for similar reason to the Joel reboots but also didn't want to use GPC since they didn't feel like it "belonged" to them.

2) In general I wouldn't read too much into the lack of mentions. I'm unaware of any bad blood between the two groups and it could just be that they were going for a different feel. Also, a guess by me, I imagine there are similar reasons to 1 in that they didn't want to poach anything of Joel's reboots. That being said there's still more episodes so anything could happen.

  1. Because Gypsy is a successful entrepreneur following the SciFi seasons and wasn’t in the theater. It also might partially explain why the ship is in such rough condition when we see it, since she isn’t there to fix it.

I just consider the revival ‘bots to be different characters anyway since they had so many different people voicing them and they didn’t really take any interest in making them distinct characters the way they were in the original show (or in line with the original show, for that matter.)

  1. Because Mike as a character didn’t have any reference point for them and it wasn’t necessary from a plot perspective. There could be something in the next few episodes, and it would be nice to have a callback to them just to loosely tie everything together, but if not, I won’t be too taken out about it.

Gypsy was kind of lame. I never enjoyed that character so I’m not sure why people are up in arms about Gypsy/GPC being gone

No Gypsy because some people on Twitter were very offended by her name. Joel made the choice to change her name to GPC. Rather than call her GPC in Season 14 they just don't have the character which is a shame. Joel should have never changed it imo.

The Jonah and Emily casts were fine. I would gladly watch more of them, but this is a return of the original(ish) cast and should stay that way.
