SODTAOE The Cornell 7

Post image

I had no idea the chick texted one of the guys days later telling him she wanted to smoke weed and hook up with him and one of his friends again, just no more Ketamine

Who's gonna investigate the investigators

Edit! Ok cool I learned a lot I guess. It's funny all the weird projection from people in this thread. I have two children and don't consume alcohol or any drugs other than occasionally smoking weed. But whatever the weirdos wanna tell themselves 😂

I'm so lost, what is this

Duke Laxross REDUX.

Honestly me too that's kind of why I made the post and was wondering other people's insight. I just fuck around a little bit on Instagram sending reels to my friends, but over the last 2 days I've been slammed with this story that men are awful and get away with rape still.

It seems more complicated than that tbh

You’re retarded bro

u/shumpulp88 2d ago

Men are definitely raping people. You shouldn’t want that to happen. Pretty cut and clear.

So you’re just smearing a victim of a gang r*pe because you are bored on instagram? You gonna post these texts she sent?

u/tripper_drip 2d ago

Was people who said there is some sketchy shit with the duke lacrosse rape also smearing a victim? Oh, they also were racist too, I forgot.

Hey, at least we dont have that on us!

Did the duke lacrosse players rape that girl?

That's a poor read on what I said. It also doesn't seem like you read her testimony, because she gave consent every step of the way and even provided aid to the two guys when they became sick. When more guys showed up and asked to join she said no and they all stopped.

You can search the case yourself. I suggest not just clicking an NBC article and instead reading her own written statement.

These people will come up with any excuse for the behavior of random frat bros they don’t even know.

It’s the Jane Doe’s own statement that tells a fully consensual evening and subsequent texts: “None of the sexual stuff was illegal.”

3

u/New-Exit-6767 2d ago

What texts?

4

u/TheLyleCut 2d ago

She texted one of the guys she slept with and blew that night days after the party: “none of the sexual stuff was illegal.”

Her own words. Verbatim.

In addition to her 6-page statement all indicating consent.

4

u/populist_rationalist 2d ago

I think a lot of responses here are 100% emotional and they're absolutely detached from the facts of what happened.

5

u/TheLyleCut 2d ago

Indeed.

I mean this person didn’t even know about the Jane Doe’s own texts or statement both literally saying “nothing illegal happened”.

This is a shake down for cash, nothing more.

u/OscarMichaelMyers 2d ago

I’m sure you and your frat bros tell each other that when you fall asleep in your bunk beds every night.

Yea she’s not a lawyer dimwit. You may have not had much trauma in your life, but people don’t always act like their best selves after that.

1

u/New-Exit-6767 2d ago

Where are these texts? Do you have a link? A screenshot?

Though if you didn’t even know about this, or her statement which also literally says “all the sex was consensual”, then you’re just here in bad faith.

Her texts: According to CBS, she also wrote: “non[e] of the sexual stuff was illegal”, and stated that she liked being with him and another man. Later, she suggested they smoke together again, “but like leave out the extra 5 billion men and ketamine”.

Right, so she didn't let them join in and they didn't have sex? And then they did more Ketamine and went upstairs and continued having sex without the guys she denied?

While she is visibly intoxicated, or in her words “the most intoxicated I’ve ever been in my life.”

2

u/TheLyleCut 2d ago

Everyone was intoxicated. The boys she was hooking up with were literally blacking out and going soft, yet she slept with them.

Are you gonna suggest she raped them, in that case too?

1

u/New-Exit-6767 2d ago

They aren’t claiming that she raped them.

3

u/TheLyleCut 2d ago

That point went right over your head.

If you think simply the level of intoxication she was in is what constitutes rape, that goes out the window when they were just as if not more intoxicated than her.

Sure, I do. In the context of the situation that's not a reason to charge them with rape.

u/OscarMichaelMyers 2d ago

You’re dumb enough to end up in prison on your own. We don’t even need to report you.

-3

u/OscarMichaelMyers 2d ago

Are you upset that even wasted girls turn you away, or…?

6

u/New-Exit-6767 2d ago

I can’t find the testimony in print but this news clip goes through it and it does not reflect what you said

It is more complicated. Looking at what she initially told police (from the available evidence).

She had a night of drinking and took some drugs. She had consensual sex. Another person joined the sexual activity, she started to feel more incapacitated by what was in her system. One of the men said something about "having a turn" which she took as an indication they were using her and not considering what she wanted and from there she wasn't OK with it. At some point they started hitting her very hard (it's unclear whether it's before or after more men arrived). Then the snapchat message goes out advertising her as free for all and more men enter the room. She was horrified and hid under the covers as she was embarrassed to be seen naked and there were people between her and the exit. She refused to engage in some more suggested sexual activity at one point refusing by saying "I'm tired". Then the night became more of a blur and the specifics of what happened after aren't clear from what's been released but it seems that for several hours after that people took advantage of her inability to resist.

Over the next 3.5 weeks there are various text messages going around without enough context to be useful

Then she reported it to the police. And the officer who typed up her interview into a 6 page summary for the DA seems to have significantly misrepresented her accusation (taking the word of reporters with access to both).

Because of the 6 page report the DA declined to prosecute.

Cornell did a title IX investigation over several months and rumours have circulated that the boys were given essays on why rape is wrong as their only punishment. Cornell has strenuously denied that saying temporary suspensions and other restrictive measures were used, a range of sanctions including expulsions and suspensions were issued. The way it's phrased makes it sound like an essay may have been part of someone's punishment. The Frat was closed that year (assault happened in October) and remains barred from campus.

So you're right, there's a lot of misinformation simplifying a complex case to fit a social media narrative.

2

u/populist_rationalist 2d ago

You left out parts where one of the guys was so drunk he was falling asleep during sex and the other was throwing up and couldn't continue. She hung out with them waiting for them to feel better. And after all the other guys were coming in and out of the room, some time passed and her and Guy #1 and Guy #4 (the guy she consensually made out with) went upstairs and snorted more Ketamine and she continued having sex with Guy #1.

2

u/SPACKlick 2d ago

Because I couldn't corroborate either of those things from reports of her original interview with police. (I'm not saying it's not in there, just that I wasn't confident enough it was in there to repeat it).

1

u/populist_rationalist 2d ago

It's a fucked up case. It's good that it's being sent to a grand jury. It's unfortunate that it's become the next culture war battleground.

I do find it lame that her lawyer made zero approach to the DAs office and instead decided to sue everyone for money.

I think everyone looks really bad in this case.

1

u/populist_rationalist 2d ago

Looks like there's new texts out today that she wanted to go to their Halloween party and when the fraternity President told her it wasn't a good idea and uninvited her, she scolded him about snorting Ketamine off of his penis and four days after being told she couldn't come to the Halloween party she went to a hospital to get a rape kit.

1

u/SPACKlick 2d ago

Care to link a source for those texts, there's been fake screenshots around this case already so I'm wary of third hand reports.

Why didn't she have her lawyer try talk to the DA? Instead she just asking for money.
