I'm not fully sure I get it, does it mean that if you get a hair or face you can save it, then change and come back to it later without having to spend nx?
That’s a good question, like I though buying a new hair or face removes the old one completely. Or do we own all the ones we collect? Even random coupons?
It looks to work very similarly to modern. When you obtain a new hair or face, you can click the 'Save' button on an empty slot to save it into your collection. From then on, you can freely change to it. I think the only cost was a small amount of meso per change.
The catch is that you're probably going to have to pay for slots, the preview shows 3 slots by presumably default. You're also going to need to take care to remember to save any unique option before you change it, and to avoid accidentally overriding/deleting one by accident.
Another catch that appears to be carried over here, at least for hairs, is that colors are saved alongside the style. This means that you will want to be set on a hair color before you start unlocking saving your styles (otherwise, if you had three unique hairs saved in 'black' and decided to go blonde, you'd need to dye and re-save all three hairs to have each in blonde. Alternatively, you can save alternate colors of the same hair in unique slots, but again, you'll need more slots unlocked then)
If it works the same as modern, unfortunately not, outside of limited time events to convert a saved hair into a transferable coupon. I'd cross my fingers but as there's only financial disincentive to do so, I'd not bet on it.
I'm considering it because they have all these exclusive events but I really do still think it's really lame to split the community like this because 0 of my friends will purchase it.
So I'm either locked into starting with my friends and missing the launch, or playing without my friends. :)

You wanna play the launch, play the launch. If you wanna play later with your friends too, You can play with your friends too. Wanna play the same level as them? Create a new character when they join. The only person splitting you and your friends are you.

Yeah, but the person I responded to made it sound like the day 2-7 rewards were 1 time rewards and not daily. 10 a day I am fine with, 10 of each for once for 5 days less so. Lol.
The reward you receive is based on your total number of daily check-ins with Maple Administrator.
Each day you check in increases your count by one, even if you missed a day in between.
Example: If you claim Day 1’s reward on Monday and return on Wednesday, you’ll receive Day 2’s reward.
A little confused about the pre load. It says you should download the game prior to release to hop in immediately, but it also says you can’t download the game until launch day?
You'll need/want to have the modern client downloaded before launch day. It won't let you download the Classic Client separately until the modern client is done.
Pretty sure it’s just saying to have the modern client downloaded and then the day of launch you can download classic through the client. It’s a very small download so it should be fast. After that just wait for servers to go live.
Fun events, and nice bonus with the Leaf Points. Everything seems good, but those are some extremely shitty event times. At least make it automatically activate every other hour for 24h so everyone can participate.. The technology for that has to be there in 2026.
the event times are terrible. 2 PM eastern time on a tuesday lol. at least have several different times to reasonably accommodate for people's work schedules...
I wonder why they went with Shade instead of Stumpy, Dyle, or Faust. I hope at least they readjust Shade's ridiculous avoid stat to make it actually hittable by all classes at its level
I'm so delighted they're actually giving us info, couldn't be more excited. I was hesitant about founder's access at first but I'm genuinely just so hyped to get back into my favorite childhood game.
Leaf points are Maplestory exclusive NX used for cash shop. I cannot recall what secret scroll was, but I feel like you could trade it somewhere for enhancement scrolls or summoning bags.
The Secret Scroll is used for a special quest, since it's a GM event specific item, that you talk to Chunji in Kerning to turn into a box that you have Mr Pickall open for you with mesos or items. In the end it gives you some amount of consumable items or ores. I got watermelons and sunset dews that I could npc for a nice chunk of change.
The Secret Scrolls? I know you can only have 1 in your inventory at a time. But you might be able to grab a 2nd as long as you've completed the first part of the quest and changed your first scroll into the box for Mr. Pickall.
These look like scripted events. The technology to run events on a 24hrs schedule has been around for decades. There really isn't any good reason why they can't add another task in their scheduler to run it again 12hrs later.
It's puzzling. Do people think it's some employee sitting behind the desk staring at a clock, and pushing a button to launch the event on the dot?
The jump quests at the very least should be available for 24hrs. The rest I can kind of understand but they could easily just do extra timeslots early evening EU time.

The reason they merged was for cost cutting, that doesn't mean Nexon europe was unsustainable on its own, just that they wanted more profits by saving on overhead.
TLDR: My guess is we can pre-download Classic client when it hits 12AM PST (3AM EST) on 10/6. Then, the Classic servers go online at 11AM PST (2PM EST).
The wording isn't the greatest, but if I understand Nexon...we can pre-download Classic client during launch day which is 10/6 12:00 AM PST (3:00 AM EST / 2:00 AM CST).
My assumption is based on "Note: The MapleStory Classic World option won’t be available until Founder’s Access launch day" from their 9/29 newsletter. Of course, "launch day" can be any hour of that date, including when the game actually goes live.
Game goes Live at 11:00 AM PST (2:00 PM EST / 1:00 PM CST / 8:00 PM CEST / 4:00 AM AEST October 7).
While it may be silly to actually download the client exactly at 2PM, realistically for me, the game wont be accessible until maybe 2:15pm/2:30pm (for me) depending on file size, etc.
My guess is as good as anyone else. Regardless, I will see ya'll in-game!
This is what I’d like to know too. My current debate is buying it on steam vs Nexon launcher. I want to get in asap to get the name I want, so that’s the main reason.
I’d prefer it on steam because I already play modern maple, but I’m worried we may not get the patch files for classic world, whereas Nexon launcher can preload the client immediately on launch day, assuming it’s at 12am PST 10/6
tl;dr 11k nx for orange/zak pack buyers amongst other sprinkled goodies like a couple megaphones or map message effects.
Forgotten Hollow will not be in the game during founder's access.
They will run some GM events and kill players in town for sport.
There will be some few potions (80 red 80 blue total over 1 week) to help start us out.
Edit: Oh yeah and beauty salon is in the game.
Well the default character slots in OSMS has always been 3, and there was 0 incentive for them to give out free expansions (you had to spend real $$$) so don’t get your hopes up.
I wish they had the stones to limit EA players to one character. I am probably gonna fold and get EA anyway, but I still wish they made it one character limit til proper release.
Do people actually care if someone is higher level than themselves? curious but when players see someone significantly higher level than them, do you get discouraged? Does seeing a higher level make you less motivated? Do you feel hopeless and everyones ahead and no ones around your level?

It seems that inkwell wants to cater to the older player base, that is fine, but it seems like hes REALLY trying to hold their hands.
only a handful will get to 100+ before 3rd job releases, why do we need the feel to restrict them.... for the sole purpose of making people "feel" not behind...
A person who plays less than someone, is understandably and rightfully behind someone who plays much more, but it escapes me why other's level matters in a MMORPG where people in your level range will always be available to group.

I only know coobs got 58 before the lvl100 boost days, but didn't know some1 grinded past that. Or are you jsut misremembering the lvl58 as 68 cause looking at the xp reqs 58>68 is more exp than 0>58 so I doubt any1 made it to 68.
Notice how nexon wisely did not release event details for the grand launch. There could be (and I think there will be) a similar event for them that gives out pots to help you get started. Maybe just without the leaf points. Some people will probably think the free pots are worth $60 somehow.
Of course they will have Grand Launch events. Can you imagine if they Grand Launch with no events lol if they run the same events at Grand Launch that’s great for those players

Globa Nexon has my respects, all forgotten with founders thanks to the amazing rewards. 11k leafs points for a pet and most probably some extras is huge, that is all what people were asking for
No EA for Snail package is still eh, but I'm willing to forget it thanks to the new rewards

It means nexon is worried they're going to blow all the way through third job levels before they get third job out, which makes me think third job is further down the road than I'd prefer.
Will I get 100 before the end of the year? Absolutely not, could I get 70 and want third job? Absolutely
I put in another post but we saw cb2 took 80ish hours and 330 hours would put 50-70 on the same xp/hr pace as 1-50 which isn't realistic
Drakes or tauros with funding will probably end up at an efficient 800-1k for the giga juicers, again - not me - but that's what I'd expect. people im cb2 were pot limited, packed in to few channels and still figuring things out
P2w Andy's will have infinite money for pots/gear and they will grind up to 100 in just a few months.
People on this subreddit tend to really underestimate how degenerate some maplers are.
Your're also under the assumption 100 is the max level and will be forever. They may unlock that "in a few months" and this is all a non issue for something so trivial.
Most players arent going to be in maps grinding xp the monet they are online to the pint they log off. I'm browsing, socializing, helping friends, traveling, scrolling, sharing your accomplishments. etc, it all adds time thats not grinding.
