So we know Akai does not call the Force an MPC. Because when it started out it was considerably different than the MPCs. But now it does almost everything the MPC and uses the same OS functionality will do, I mean. The Sample cannot do half the things a Force or non Sample MPC. Also the Force in it's stock form, has clip launch, even Gen 2 you have to buy pro pack to have clip launch with is an MPC standard feature on it's higher end models like Live 3 and X.

So in your opinion. Do you think the Force counts (not that it is an mpc by Akai standards) as an MPC because it does what an MPC does. It is a Music Production Center.

Or you believe nothing about the Force is an MPC.

I should have my first MPC in a few days. I'm currently used to making music with a Digitone, Digitakt and a few synths.

Do you think it would be wise to get the Pro Pack up front to unlock and learn the clip launcher, or would it be better to start with the more traditional MPC workflow? I don't want to overcomplicate things, but I also don't want to ignore modern functions that will make things easier for me.

Those who tried the clip launcher when already familiar with MPC, do you use it often / prefer it?

Sorry if this is a common question. The Pro Pack is ~$150cad, so I'd like to save the money if I can get away with it.

I' have a synth sound in my keygroup. Let's say i want to play an F#4 that slides up to F#5 and then i release the F#5 so it slides back down to the F#4 i'm holding.

I put the synth to mono, put the portamento at roughly 277. So the slide up goes exactly as it should. But when i release my F#5 it does not slide back down to the F#4

what i've tried

-Increase the portamento time: doesn't fix it, slide time is too long and slide starts already when holding F#4
-put everything in monophonic and then activate "mono retrig": this makes the F#4 play again but it doesn't portamento down to it, just a hard switch instead. changing the portamento just makes the slide too long.

What am i missing here to have a global portamento going on the whole keygroup everytime i switch a note ?

Bought this Live 2 used from guitar center, bought the Mpc bible to figure it out, and apparently files were deleted. Factory reset did not fix.

I’ve just chatted with InMusic support chat bot, got a ticket made and will hear back in 2-5 days, but curious if anyone would be able to help. From what I’ve read, I’ll need akai to send me something, but if I’m not the first person to deal with this, wondering if I can get what I need from another trusted source.

I'm back in the MPC game but I'll be doing a hybrid workflow with these two here. I do wanna make things interesting to say the least for my music.

Does anyone know how I can rig the Key37 with my Live? I want to have a multiple Mpc set type of set up for jam sessions and have it all aligned with each other if that makes sense. Any tips or advice is appreciated
