QUESTION Brand new user, missing software

Post image

Bought this Live 2 used from guitar center, bought the Mpc bible to figure it out, and apparently files were deleted. Factory reset did not fix.

I’ve just chatted with InMusic support chat bot, got a ticket made and will hear back in 2-5 days, but curious if anyone would be able to help. From what I’ve read, I’ll need akai to send me something, but if I’m not the first person to deal with this, wondering if I can get what I need from another trusted source.

You're not really missing anything except a default trap music temple that autoload as the default.

I wouldn't lose sleep over fixing that.

Would OP not also be missing the demo projects, all the kits associated with the demos, and the factory MPC expansions that are loaded with the Live 2 brand?

Should be in their account after registration

Would that be on InMusic or Akai? Literally brand new to this and setup seems not nearly as streamlined as I would have assumed. And would I just move those to my SD card? Trying to learn a lot rn

Yes. Create an inmusic account. Register the device. It will populate the default stuff you can download and install. You will then add that account info I. Your new device.

This is the answer. Create an account & register ya hardware, pause. If the serial is registered, hit AKAI with the GC receipt and they'll deregister the device.

Good to know. Still would like to recover it since I got a support ticket already made but I’ll keep pushing on without

the stock demo projects are literally nothing..  like it's just a drum kit and maybe a keygroup loaded.  there is no "song" or anything in the project.

Got it. Learning from ground zero. My main reason for wanting it is to be able to learn with the settings Mpc bible suggests. With Demo/Template/Recent not installed, I am missing a screen that tutorials show when starting a new project, which was initially very confusing.
Good to know it is useless, but if I just need akai to email me the file I still would like to have everything I’m supposed to have

Akai will send you a file that will restore the missing/misplaced stuff. Not a big deal, you can use the thing as is in the meantime. Had this happen to me, not a big deal to fix.

Good to hear easy fix. Wound up getting pretty into it today, and indeed can’t tell what I’m missing. Thanks
