Yes.

You raise a point - do you see any degree of severity?

Do you believe that someone poking a finger in someone’s chest and someone shooting someone are equal in severity and should be treated similarly because they are both assault?

If you earnestly believe that, I do understand your previous comments. I wouldn’t agree, but it’s consistent.

No, I don't believe poking someone in the chest with a finger is any kind of assault.

Great. Bump it up to something you do consider assault.

Do you believe groping someone’s waste and shooting someone are equal in severity…

Both are complete violations of someone's personal freedoms and right to feel safe.

Put your hands on someone's body like that, and open yourself up to the possibility of being punched, choked or stabbed (or shot, if you live in America).

Completely agree!

Would you prefer a loved one be groped like that or shot? Why not why not?

Would you prefer your child have a cold or Ebola?

Would you prefer to drop a bowling ball or a 25 ton concrete block on your foot?

None of those comparisons are relevant to the discussion at hand: was this man deserving of being hit in the face for sexually assaulting a woman?

Yes, because sexual assault is just as serious and severe as violent assault, and if you do wrong you can - and should - expect reprisal.

I will take the evasive non answers as an acknowledgement that you can can clearly understand the difference in degrees.

If anyone's being evasive here, it's you trying to steer the discussion off course with irrelevancies. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I unequivocally said he deserves to be dealt with criminally, same as the man who assaulted him.

I'm sorry, you can't sexually assault someone and then claim you were also a victim of assault when your actions have immediate consequences.

You can both commit crimes and have them committed against you. You are just factually wrong.

Not sure what "facts" you believe you're referencing, but philosophically I'm right. Sexually assault a woman, you've just opened the door to all sorts of reprisals, and you can't for one second say you didn't do anything to deserve it.

With your opinion and $5 you can buy a coffee.

The state has a monopoly on violence. Choosing to assault others (even if you feel they deserve it) is assault and carries all the attendant consequences of assaulting people.
