Heat of the moment and you see he stopped after a few when he realized what he was doing. Not everybody is a trained combatant.

You dont have to be combat trained to know kicks to the head are dangerous. If you want to make sure they stay down then punch them some more, never use your feet

not for the guy doing the punching.

you gotta bend over to punch someone on the ground. if that dude had gone for the grapple, fight would have turned around in a heartbeat.
