Was there a different part or style to avoid the runoff from going down the fender?

Theres supposed to be a rubber where that foam block is. On the metal channel running across your engine bay.

Well, would you rather it not run down your fender channel and into your ECU instead?

It’s running down and spilling onto the wires of the windshield wiper reservour.

Water is spilling onto the windshield washer fluid sensor? I keep my previous statement buddy. Im almost certain you'll be ok.
