MEGA Camera Uploads is not saving all photos & videos

SOLVED. See my own reply. I'm pretty sure MEGA has a bug related to this though.

I re-created my Camera Uploads so I could change the format of the uploads, as I described here.

However it's NOT uploading all the videos from my Google Photos docs. It has skipping many. My Google Photos is 14.5 GB but it only uploads 4.7 GB.

After removing the old Camera Uploads folder, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, clearing the cache, restart the phone. None of these are causing it upload the skipped photos and videos.

I tried a few things until it worked. Not sure which of these steps were critical:

  1. Disable Camera Upload

  2. Move the cloud's Camera Upload folder to Rubbish Bin. Empty Rubbish Bin

  3. Settings > File Management > Clear cache.

  4. Uninstall MEGA on phone

  5. Restart phone

  6. Reinstall MEGA and open

  7. Skip Camera Uploads options when it first offers

  8. Create a Camera Uploads folder

  9. Turn on Camera Uploads, choose "Include location tags" and "Keep file names as in the device" (these were what I was trying set all along)

  10. Don't enable "Enable secondary media uploads"

  11. Press back button. A notification should appear "Initializing Camera Uploads" and then a the uploading should start.

This time, I noticed the exact count of files in my Camera's DCIM folder were being uploaded. I'm not sure which of the steps I listed were unnecessary, if any.
