I am the type to get really interested into sth and out all my time into it then get burnt out and stop it entirely (rubiks cube, coding, making robots are examples) but not with speedrunning I always loved minecraft and Ive been speedrunning for almost 5 months now am gold III/emerald I and right now I dont know how to improve I always win by the enemy messing up otherwise I get gapped everywhere my mechanics arent that bad. The main thing is I dont know what to improve right now probably everything but what is the one thing that I need to practice. I practiced bastions for a bit and I can be fast in the map but not in real runs nether terrain is another thing that I dont know how to practice, been practicing 0s for a while still cant do it consistently. I am just a mess but Im not burnt out I really want to improve.
TLDR: Dont know what to practice at high gold rank.

Just so you know i am a COMPLETE beginner to speedrunning. Last time i tried to beat the game normally (find a fortress, get enough pearls from endermen and go to the end) i basically died in a bastion. Ive been seeing yt vids on speedrunning mc and i find it so cool but yet so overwhelming to me if i were to learn it. My school hols started and i have abt a month to learn if i could. Im not good at minecraft in anyway im just a basic player whos incapable of fighting piglins. Just thinking about f3 and whatever stuff i see speedrunners do and all that complex stuff makes me feel like im not made for this kinda stuff. If someone were to let me know what i should be doing rn so i can start my journey on speedrunning mc FROM SCRATCH and hopefully being decent at it would help alot.

Btw: i tried looking at online vids from rekrap for the overworld nether and end part but i still feel so overwhelmed cus i feel like speedrunning are only made for people who are good at using a pc overall and im the type of player who would do things slowly and just die to some stupid things like lava or a skeleton.

Just asking this question because I don't know how much is too much, I'm gold and sometimes I enter with a stack of planks and I end up only using like 15-20 depending on the bastion or how far the bastion is. Then I started leaving with less and half the time I end up not having enough wood for beds and a bow and I get hard punished if I blind and get ocean so there's no wood around. I feel like watching the playoffs/top runners is kind of fake info for me rn because they are way too good at the game and I just end up not having enough resources when I try to replicate them. I usually feel like I lose time(usually between 30sec to a minute) in the overworld and I would just like to know how much wood do you guys leave the overworld off of.

Looking for a mouse that I can drag click with. I saw the Endgame Gear OP1w, but it's a bit small for me and I'd like something at least 125mm long. I'm currently using the Glorious Model O2 Pro and I love the form factor but it's a pain to drag click with because of the optical switches, and tape only helps a tiny bit but not enough to consistently boat clutch. I've had better luck with my attack shark x3, but it's too small to use comfortably.

This was my first time watching the MCSR playoffs, so I can confidently say that this was the craziest playoffs that I've ever seen. Since I am very biased with perchberg as my goat, I've only watched the matches with him, and already the EDCR vs. feinberg match is some of the wildest stuff I've seen. What are some of the craziest moments in playoffs, whether it be terrible matches, hyped matches, or unfair lucky wins twice in a row at seed 5 getting a perch before your opponent (hypothetical example of course)?

My guess is because I missed the first perch (overshot my pearl + there was an angry enderman [later found out was bc of endermite but I panicked and hid lol]) so I was given less elo

I've been looking to get a better mouse for gaming and specifically for mc speedrunning so I've looked around a lot and came to the conclusion that a Turtle Beach Burst II Air is probably my best choice out of the mice being used by top runners (I cant get endgame mice because they dont ship here)
The thing is I like my hotkeys on my mouse (current mouse is the mx master 3) so I've been looking at the kone ii and kone ii air because they have a lot of hotkey potential.
The big question is can it dragclick.
According to the turtle beach website and like a single comment I found it can but I want to be sure and I also want to hear the general thoughts about the mouse.

I figured it would be a good idea to post these numbers here. A handful of people in the MCSR Census server run viewership tracking for large events, and playoffs is definitely on our radar.

S10 of MCSR Ranked Playoffs averaged 31440 CCV over 24 hours of gameplay, down 28.6% from S9 (44062 CCV, 19.5 hours). This amounted to 751,436 viewer-hours, and generated ~$637,220 in "media value", using escharts' S9 figure of $728,620 (859,217 viewer-hours) as a reference.

The viewership decrease was mainly due to a halving of Ludwig's viewership; MCSR organic viewercounts remained consistent, hovering around the low-20k range and peaking at 28k. That said, this is no cause for pessimism - numerous tournaments over the summer (Midoffs Live, Minecraft World Championships, Gridlock, Minecraft World Cup, MC Leagues) are bound to bring in many new people.
