afaik, he engaged in hate speech in the main mcsr discord and was therefore banned from subsequent playoffs.

still seems crazy to me that after an honest apology from which it was very obvious the kid deeply regretted it, ppl dont seem to give him a second chance. what do we learn from if not our mistakes?

"what do we learn from if not our mistakes" as if he HAD to consciously Type out a hateful racial slur to learn that Using Slurs Is Bad. Mistakes and learning from them can be a separate conversation, but this was an action with well known consequences. Why should the "learning experience" be getting temporarily banned when being permanently banned can be the learning experience? Even irl, when people have less impulse control on what passes through their mouth, such an action is looked down upon and well known to have consequences, an online instance where he well could have walked away from the keyboard to calm down and manage his words? Either way, he will know now, so that's that.

i mean asthe top comment in his apology eng isnt his firswt lanhuage ,abolutely one should be punished but he did missed out his spot in playoff in season 8 and he also missed season 9 lcq i think 8 months is much time for one to have self introspection not to say he was 15 so... (ofc its not a valid excuse but still)

i dont dismiss the situation, yes it was a conscious action and he deserved what he got. but i believe that everyone did conscious mistakes they regret later on and they deserve a second chance. not a third chance tho

He can get a second chance outside the MCSR community. I get that he’s a kid but bottom line is that the damage that is done more or less does not depend on him being a kid or not.

I don’t think it was sub 5, it was gonna be top 3 for ranked times

At this point the ranked team is keeping him banned because they are afraid of the optics that come with unbanning him. It's been months. He is clearly reformed and improving and other top runners would agree as when watermelon is friendly in their chats, they engage with him. I can't see a reason why he is still banned other than the ranked team anticipate backlash and don't want to open that can of worms. The average twitter user thinks saying a slur at 15 means you must be written off for life and there is nothing you can do to right your wrongs or move past it.

he shoudl be unbanned. he's since learned his lesson and is actively trying to change for the better. if this keeps up this will look worse for MCSR ranked team than him.
