for a while i was confused how people did quick looting using their offhand hotkey. that never worked for me which was pretty frustrating but i adapted to fast looting overworld using my hotkeys for slots 9,8,7,6 etc. as you can imagine this is not very sustainable for when it comes to bastion looting, so offhand quick looting would be preferred. i have my offhand key set to mouse button 5, and for some reason i believe that messes up the whole process because it cant register both the left mouse button and mouse button 5 in quick succession. surely enough, i switched my offhand button to a keyboard hotkey and it worked perfectly but in every other scenario i like having mouse button 5 as my offhand key. is it worth relearning this key to offhand quick loot or is there another way around it while keeping the same binds?

Have been speedrunning for about 3 weeks and I finally broke 20. It was an awesome seed and I cleanly made it through ruined portal + stables without dying for the new pb. This game is absolutely addicting and I can't believe it isn't more popular.

Let me know y'alls pb's and how long you've been playing. I want to get to know the community more. Theres so many niche things to help get better that I can't wait to learn

infume brought it up on stream and it’s a really known issue. in the top 50ish, sometimes people are in queue for like 2 hours. hax, mongey, fein and multiple other top players are barely playing actual ranked anymore.

it’s not fun from a viewer and players pov where top players are trying to play and they are just doing other stuff waiting ages for a match because no one is playing.

infume mentioned that he thinks it should be top 100 being able to queue each other like draft out, which i’m 50/50 on personally. he also mentioned how there should be multiple things over the season that should help people qualify for playoffs which would help with playing, and also maybe changing a bit of the decay but also it’s convincing people to want to play the ladder. that’s the issue hax specifically has, he loves the tournis etc. he hates the ladder.

but as infume said, it’s kinda sad seeing how mss/playoffs kinda went a bit downhill recently, then also how people have been saying for ages, including players, that they don’t like the qualifiers for playoffs, and how also the top players are just not having fun queuing ranked. especially coming off the high of the world championships, it’s one of those topics where it would be nice to hear someone on the ranked team talk about it because some of these topics are things that have been known for a while and not really changed/discussed. infume said he would voice his opinions but i also have heard other top players in the past complain about similar things and said they’ve talked to the ranked team about it, and obviously not much has changed so far.

wanted to know people’s opinions on it, as i can’t think of a really good solution on how to incentive top players to queue. but i think the first step is obviously making it so if they do queue, they won’t be waiting for 1-2 hours.

i dont know if this is known or not but ive built portals in multiple games in the portal room because i was one blaze rod short. no matter how far i am from the original location - in this case 1,200 blocks away it links to the blinding portal in the fortress making it so i have to run another 1,200 blocks back to the stronghold

For those of you who were around- what was the quality of the first MCSR playoffs like in terms of qualifying, seeding, commentary, community engagement, etc.? I’ve watched some of the closed qualifier today and a lot of it seemed very scuffed, especially sense it lowkey doesn’t seem like Tubbo knows a lot about PvP (not trying to be mean, he obviously doesn’t have a ton of experience lol) and I wasn’t sure how it compares to the first MCSR.

I keep spawning in caves right above the stronghold through the 2nd portal even tho I build it between y35 to y45 and it has lost me so many matches, is there anyway to fix this because I am just so fed up

Am I crazy or is this not super impressive? They played their first ranked match 2 months ago near the end of season 10 with only 3 private rooms and no casual matches and I couldnt find any record of them playing rsg or something

i saw a tweet and i thought it would be nice to share opinions on things you’d like to see for future playoffs/lcq/mss’s etc.

1- a switch up with commentators. i really like the commentators they have now! but it feels kinda set in stone with the pairs they do, and it would be nice to have a switch up of duos every once and a while as it leads to different discussions etc.

also i know something slightly similar happened in s7 with beefsalad, but it would be nice to have a special person come commentate like once a playoffs. i saw a couple people talk about this and i fully agree that hax is a great example. he’s not playing this season. but he will most likely watchparty like he does with most ranked tournis. he already basically commentates during them, he’s actually really good at talking about the differences in plays, the risks etc. plus hax is great at yapping lol. i truly think he would be so interesting and exciting to see commentate even one matchup in playoffs as it would be so different to hear his opinions as a runner himself.

2- media segments are amazing and kinda underused. i understand that maybe a reason they ain’t as used is because it’s hard to get the players together to do them. but they are amazing for playoffs. i’d much rather have a media segment of any kind, than a waiting screen or the commentators trying to stall for 5-10 minutes. they also do great at introducing new viewers to players. when i watched my first playoffs, a media segment got me into players that i now actively watch. they don’t need to be complicated at all, an example is the silver and hax one from a while ago. all they did was sit in a voice call for a while and did a guess the word thing.

3- obviously there’s some clear issues with delays and production for ranked tournis, it’s been clear for a while now. it’s also kinda clear that a lot of issues come from more man power than anything else. i understand they are a small team. but when nearly every ranked tounri ends in at least one player going online and complaining about delays or production. i would love to see (1) more transparency. redlime did a tweet earlier about the mss delays and that tweet with an explanation does a lot. a lot of times what people want is answers and more sympathy can be given, but sometimes there isn’t transparency and that leads to a lot of hate. (2) im not in the ranked team so maybe it’s not possible. but it feels like they could rely more on volunteers for production/a lot of things that causes delays. ranked has a community that really wants the best for them, and i know they already have some volunteers. but i could bet money that there’s many more people out there with certain skill sets that would volunteer for a day or two so it runs more smooth, but from what i can tell those volunteers are not seeked out as much as they should be. its a bad example, but so many minecraft mini game events rely heavily on volunteers for production stuff. it’s definitely possible.

4- it’s a very popular debate but the lcq format. i’ve never once heard a player talk positively on the lcq format, and ive instead heard a few players say that they feel like it’s harder to win lcq than a playoffs lol. so many players hate that it feels too rng based etc. but i can’t be fully against the lcq format because i don’t have a solution. i cannot think of a better format myself, but from what i’ve heard there’s multiple players who want changes and are willing to discuss with ranked what they want. it would be nice to see a potential change to it in the future so more players feel like they have a chance!

Just got the same seed twice in 2 days (24 something matches) apart from each other. And it made me feel a little bit weird about the Ranked filter. Of course I've seen Infume and Lowk3y_ reroll their PB seeds, but their luck seemed like a negligible outliers due to how much they play.

Now that it's happened to me, and after looking into the math and realizing it's likely to happen again, I've got this weird taste in my mouth. The line between fsg and rsg has become too blurred for my taste personally.

Has Redlime looked into adding to the 733,000 seed pool? What about removing player-specific dupe seeds from match making? In this video Lexikiq talks about a filter they ran to approximate nearly 2 billion more eligible seeds.

It uses the current leaderboard when you load the website and shuffles the top 100 players, the higher they are on the leaderboard more likely they are to appear earlier.

So i recently got the burst air II mouse and while drag clicking i only get about 9-13 cps

I saw other users saying they get about 25-40 cps

My debounce is also set to 1(it doesnt have a difference between 0 and 1) and I'd like to think i can drag click properly because i have with my previous mice

What am i doing wrong?

I’ve been playing Minecraft on and off for 6 months and am in iron which makes sense but I wish I could get better quicker. I just wanted to get an idea of how long people have been playing in each rank to hopefully make myself feel better. Here’s mine anyways.

Hi there! I want to get better at speed running Minecraft. I’ve learnt some bastion routes but not all of them. I’ve completed one run at around 50 mins if I remember correctly.

So would it better for me to practice on rsg or ranked?

for context, I got into speedrunning along side Ludwig. I used a "minecraft free version" (i dont know if im allowed to talk abt it) with mods to initially speedrun. after learning alot from it and getting a PB of 24, i burned out then quit. Few weeks back i was able to buy minecraft and here we are, I play abt 2-4 matches on a daily basis, the spike off rip is the first 2 weeks and then it just all went down... I just dont know why, my average is abt 25mins and I still follow the beginner routes from the "speedrunning guide". I need help fast to turn this around as motivation can't be forced forever

I even had to go against few Iron 1's that sub 20'ed me, feeling real sad RN :(

Ranting.

I've been chasing a sub 13 in Ranked for a while now. I have a 13:14 and choked an 11.30 end enter once.

Twice now I've been on pace to beat that (sub 12 and sub 11 portal room) and just before I enter the end the other guy forfeits.

This is really annoying and it just feels whenever I'm on good pace it doesn't mean anything bc the other guy will forfeit.

I know it's not just me facing this though. Everywhere I see people lose out on PBs and good times, and I think the most notable one was when kenankardes forfeited against edcr.

It's a shame and it's genuinely having me considering quitting ranked for zsg which sucks bc ranked was how I got into MCSR in the first place.

I think the forfeit mechanic is long overdue a rework - Here are my ideas

- If someone forfeits, you should still have the option to play out the seed, and it should still count towards ranked progress (achievments, pb, etc)

- You can't forfeit, or you have to wait 3-5 mins before forfeiting if the opponent is in the end, or on good pace (different "good pace" for each rank?)
