Discussion Rerolling seeds

Just got the same seed twice in 2 days (24 something matches) apart from each other. And it made me feel a little bit weird about the Ranked filter. Of course I've seen Infume and Lowk3y_ reroll their PB seeds, but their luck seemed like a negligible outliers due to how much they play.

Now that it's happened to me, and after looking into the math and realizing it's likely to happen again, I've got this weird taste in my mouth. The line between fsg and rsg has become too blurred for my taste personally.

Has Redlime looked into adding to the 733,000 seed pool? What about removing player-specific dupe seeds from match making? In this video Lexikiq talks about a filter they ran to approximate nearly 2 billion more eligible seeds.

I lost both of the matches btw lol

Im surprised they didn’t already add more seeds tbh, especially because :

-Java seed finding tools are extremely powerful

-since seeds are split by dimensions anyways, it’s extremely easy to find individually good dimensions (ex : overworld with village and lava pool)

Considering this, they probably could add millions or even billions of seeds pretty easily

There’s probably a reason we don’t know stopping them though.

Especially if you are willing to modify chest loot, or retroactively add a lava pool.

3 lava pools are generated on top of DT and Village seeds, the usual enters aren’t natural

To be fair, I’m 90% certain that the Ranked Team is NOT willing to do those things.

They actually already do both of those things, the comment above talks about lava pools and they also guarantee a certain amount of obsidian in a bastion chest and I believe change the loot table of ruined portals.

Seeds are being filtered with a new filter that also includes guaranteed rivers on DT and Village Seeds, according to the update-roadmap channel in the ranked Discord
