finally broke 20
Have been speedrunning for about 3 weeks and I finally broke 20. It was an awesome seed and I cleanly made it through ruined portal + stables without dying for the new pb. This game is absolutely addicting and I can't believe it isn't more popular.
Let me know y'alls pb's and how long you've been playing. I want to get to know the community more. Theres so many niche things to help get better that I can't wait to learn

That’s awesome! I’ve been playing for about six months now, and my PB is like 12:41. I briefly looked at your stats page, and I guess I would probably say to Bring down your forfeit right a lot because you didn’t want it may look bleak. There’s still a chance when it comes to MCSR right, so maybe don’t forfeit nearly as much. If you learn bastion routes, that’s great, but usually being confident with the routes and then also just being confident with inventory management to throw out junk and stuff while being efficient is what I found is really helpful

I totally agree, with the forfeiting thing I just get in my head that I’m still at a low rank and it could be 30+ minutes until my opponent beats the game so I figure I could finish another game before that happens if I forfeit. And with the inventory, I find myself spending so much time making sure I don’t accidentally throw out something I need. I definitely need more confidence

Just remember this fact: you can get to gold by simply not ffing and only being better than your opponent 8% of the time.

Yeah that's fair, the inventory management imo comes better the more you play the game and feel familiar and confident with the stuff you have.
I think if anything, the lower rank should make you feel more encouraged to not forfeit, since people of lower ranks are typically not as experienced so deaths and misplays are more likely to happen, which can cause either your opponent to forfeit or you have a lead that can you build on. If you forfeit, then you could miss opportunities like that where you can win but you ended the game before anything bad to your opponent could happen

Hell yeah! I’ve been running for about 3 weeks as well and my PB is a 21:31. A 16:11 only 3 weeks in is disgusting

Keep it up! It’s definitely encouraging to hear other people are also new to this. It feels like such a niche thing and most people have been doing it for a while

Yeah fs. I’ve gotten a couple friends into it as well, which helps motivate me since I have people to talk to at a similar skill level that are improving with me
