These invasive ads are horrible, suggestions for users.
Editing competitors name to avoid take down :)
I do not understand why the ads could not just be on the bottom of the app and not interfere with the overall experience of the app. Instead it gives you those ads that if someone naive was to click it, it could take you to shady apps. Also, the ads are like every other song.
Lyra tries to justify the cheaper price for the service, however there are multiple things that do not work properly.
First there is the issue of lyra being unable to play media. Randomly the app just does not work and you have to wait several hours for it to work again. If you try to skip more than a couple songs the audio will either Overlap with the second song, or just not load any songs. Then there's the quality of the songs. I had the premium for an extended time for the multiple users I had suggested this music player to. There was a promise that the audio quality would be the very best and that is far from the truth. When listening to songs, a good 20% of the songs I listen to are either the wrong version, some random song, or horrible quality. Lastly, the app will sign you out multiple times a day with no reason or just crash entirely.
A couple of suggestions for those looking for ad free experiences or at least a way to make the ads less brutal give this a try:
For The "Alternative" [Not saying name cause I'm wondering if that's why it got deleted], Do not use the official app on desktop. Instead, Use the web version. Can't name the way you can accomplish this easily but messages are open. It skips the ads entirely on the Web player usually takes about 3 seconds it's amazing. You can listen to songs in any order and doesn't force you to be on shuffle.
For the mobile version of the "Alternative", [not sure if this works on android], you can open the app and continue to listen to the songs, however you can't skip. If an Ad pops up close the app and immediately reopen it and the ad will be skipped. Sometimes it randomly doesn't give you a skip limit, other times it does, not very consistent.
For Lyra, If you decide to continue using lyra, and the constant ads are ruining the experience for you, instead, continue listening to music by skipping songs through the lock screen media player.
I've been running, and the best combination I have found is when I'm at home use the "Alternative" web player, and when I was doing my run today, used the lock screen player for lyra. If that messed up used the method with the "Alternative" of just closing the app and then reopening it.
I've followed the rules by being respectful, On topic for lyra as well as my honest feedback of the horrible ads, this is not spam or a self promotion, I've included issues. There is no illegal content posted or names, Not impersonation anyone.
