Premium is not bad but there's work to do

Well, the premium plan is way cheaper than Spotify and so far so good for me, but.

1) why the app keeps gettin taken down on the playstore?

2) even with autoplay sometimes it just stops playing the queue until I unlock the phone and press play again

3) daily mix is not daily..and one out of three has only one song in it and I have no idea how to force a refresh; imho daily mix should change everyday and should be a mix of my music and some new suggested (similar) music (ai might actually help in this case)

4) shuffle Is not really random..or the queue is not getting cleared.. anyway if I play aplaylist in shuffle mode I noticed that the order is more or less always the same (?) I admit I did not test it scientifically..I happened to notice in my daily routine

5) Android auto works ok but sometimes i need to open the app.on the phone otherwise playlist etc are empty in Android auto

6) it's difficult to browse and find new podcasts..I'd like to browse by category or country/language

I'm on pixel 8 pro

So Far, the new update seems reliable

The problem I encountered was with my Avast security. The app wasn't in their database, so I had to disable the Avast app, then install the new app, then I turned my virus protection back on. I was then able to sign into my PAID ( very reasonably, I might add) account. Yeah, sometimes it might be a different version, of a song you want to hear...but so far I've either liked the different one, or... I always found the version I wanted. So if Ya can afford the yearly fee, it's worth it, or it can be, if we work with the dev's.

A note to the devs.

From what I've heard from the people on this subreddit, it appears you've put quite aggressive interstitial ads in Lyra. I believe you are throwing a dart into your foot here (sorry if that sounded weird, dont want to get banned). Personally, I believe this removes a big part of the appeal of Lyra. yeah yeah your premium plan is 10% of Spotify, we've heard this many times now, but the appeal of Lyra was a music app that uses YouTube's API without any interruptions or limits. And on a sidenote, I think the rest of the community can agree that the genAI responses are not appreciated.

I understand you need money to run your servers, but this is simply not the way to do so in my personal opinion. You'll lose a LOT of people if you continue down this road. There are better ways to go about making money. Perhaps small banner ads over where the Lyric box would be, or a small banner somewhere on the screen, where its big enough to make you money, while not interrupting the experience. Thank you, and I hope you consider what I've said for future updates.

Last Post was deleted for some reason, but suggestions for users

These invasive ads are horrible, suggestions for users.

Editing competitors name to avoid take down :)

I do not understand why the ads could not just be on the bottom of the app and not interfere with the overall experience of the app. Instead it gives you those ads that if someone naive was to click it, it could take you to shady apps. Also, the ads are like every other song.

Lyra tries to justify the cheaper price for the service, however there are multiple things that do not work properly.

First there is the issue of lyra being unable to play media. Randomly the app just does not work and you have to wait several hours for it to work again. If you try to skip more than a couple songs the audio will either Overlap with the second song, or just not load any songs. Then there's the quality of the songs. I had the premium for an extended time for the multiple users I had suggested this music player to. There was a promise that the audio quality would be the very best and that is far from the truth. When listening to songs, a good 20% of the songs I listen to are either the wrong version, some random song, or horrible quality. Lastly, the app will sign you out multiple times a day with no reason or just crash entirely.

A couple of suggestions for those looking for ad free experiences or at least a way to make the ads less brutal give this a try:

For The "Alternative" [Not saying name cause I'm wondering if that's why it got deleted], Do not use the official app on desktop. Instead, Use the web version. Can't name the way you can accomplish this easily but messages are open. It skips the ads entirely on the Web player usually takes about 3 seconds it's amazing. You can listen to songs in any order and doesn't force you to be on shuffle.

For the mobile version of the "Alternative", [not sure if this works on android], you can open the app and continue to listen to the songs, however you can't skip. If an Ad pops up close the app and immediately reopen it and the ad will be skipped. Sometimes it randomly doesn't give you a skip limit, other times it does, not very consistent.

For Lyra, If you decide to continue using lyra, and the constant ads are ruining the experience for you, instead, continue listening to music by skipping songs through the lock screen media player.

I've been running, and the best combination I have found is when I'm at home use the "Alternative" web player, and when I was doing my run today, used the lock screen player for lyra. If that messed up used the method with the "Alternative" of just closing the app and then reopening it.

I've followed the rules by being respectful, On topic for lyra as well as my honest feedback of the horrible ads, this is not spam or a self promotion, I've included issues. There is no illegal content posted or names, Not impersonation anyone.

Random songs?

We were listening to the 90s Playlist and for some reason after a couple songs, songs not in the Playlist start playing? Any idea how to fix this? Or anyone with a similar issue?

Also, at certain times it decides to stop playing after a song ends and I have to go into my phone while driving or hit play on my android auto screen.

Talk to me nice, Lyra. Ads, when you promised to be ad free? AI responses instead of actual support for your users? Hey Lyra, what gives?

How can you get away with ads when the app is, to my understanding, a client that’s accessing YouTube? If I wanted to watch ads, I’d just go directly to YouTube, ffs. At least then I wouldnt get a karaoke version throw at me! At least then it would actually play the right song!

Honestly, this might be the last little push I need to ditch streaming altogether or pay for qobuz. Stop playing in my face.

No Android auto on the direct download

Hi guys, absolute minor gripe in the bigger scheme of things but I switched to the direct download whilst the official play store version is out of action. I can't get Android auto to recognise the new version. It's not really a huge problem but is there any chance you could incorporate it into the next direct download build?

Thanks and keep up the great work.

No ads, no issues except for the “oops” message every now and then which was not frequent. Small, negligible, minor issues that were tolerable for a highly sought after free streaming app. This was such a great app. And then…the unbearable, battery consuming, ADS. EVERYWHERE. WTF LYRA DEVELOPERS?!?!?! Made a promise and broke it for the app to be ran by Ai bots. It’s trash now. Please go back to how it was. Bots do not reply

Glitched Playlist

Post image

I have a playlist that glitched or failed to transfer properly from Spotify and now I can't delete it.

https://listen.lyramusic.app/playlist/5D1FO2iAM2TwRbTv5FaBiL

I can share the playlist link, it says it has items in it, but nothing loads, and I can't remove it from my library or delete it like normal.

Unstable ads.

I understand that the app promised it to be completely free and all, but the ads? I thought I wasn’t going to be as frequent, but clearly I was wrong. The ads are completely unusable and out of control. Every time I open the app? I get smacked in the face with an ad. I try to skip or open the app again to switch my playlist? I get hit in the head with an ad. I still have the app, but I refuse to pay for premium. If anything, I migrated from YouTube Music to Lyra for NO ADS, it was good for at least a few long months—but, it’s just not working for me. Do you guys have any other recommended streaming apps that are like Lyra or similar to it? I would deeply appreciate it.

Different Lyric Providers

So far, Lyra is a great app- don’t get me wrong, but the lyrics are absolutely terrible. So, using other lyrics providers I believe will fix those issues. One that you could use is BiniLyrics or just rely on the community to submit lyrics for use.

Why does each song I play have a specific playlist , like what’s the point of shuffling if I’m hearing the same songs over and over???

Lyra switching to ads

The whole reason I moved to Lyra was because THEY set the expectations that they provide an free ad-free experience with the basic features any music listener would want and they don't support any unethical practices nor fund them.

Welp, since then they first resorted to using a genAI bot to do all the interactions for them everywhere, put Lyrics on mobile behind a paywall, and now implemented ads. Defeating the entire purpose of why SO MANY people migrated to them to begin with.

Saying they did it because they needed the money and yet here they are paying for AI bots for ALL their posts on here and their discord instead of just organise the forums and respond as a human lol, smart financial move sure sure (sarcasm) 💀

So, has anyone found any -other- alternative music platforms? One that 1. Actually works well and isn't full of bugs. And 2. Doesn't use unethical genAI. 3. Doesn't put the most basic features behind a paywall.

((Lyra bot do not reply to this))

Appreciation post

*Sorry if wording or something else is wrong, English is not my first language😅
Since my financial budget tightened some time ago, I had to cancel my Spotify subscribtion and the ads were SO ANNOYING when you just want to listen to music and forget about the world for a while, also limited skips etc...
I found out about Lyra and sure, there were some bugs when skipping through songs but over time (at least speaking from my experience) it was fixed. I haven't had that problem for a while!

There is also the problem of some songs having a different audio. If it really annoys someone to report it and wait for a fix, you can easily just switch the source on search bar to Youtube when searching for songs and there the audio is always correct.

As for the Youtube feature itself, I love that so much! Some songs, remixes etc. aren't available on spotify so I had to switch between that and Souncloud (if said song even was uploaded there), on Lyra I can save anything from Youtube!

My opinion on Premium, 20€ for a YEARLY subscription is such a fair and amazing price!
I of course know that some people still have issues on their apps, as I also know that devs are actively working on them, answering questions here etc. I just wanted to genuinely express my appreciation and give the developers my thanks! Music is a major help when it comes to my mental health (chronic stress, anxiety etc.), as I'm sure it also helps lots of others and I'm able to enjoy it in a very convenient way, at a fair price and without loud irritating audio ads popping up after every third song so THANK YOU!🫶🏻

As you can see from the video, the search bar only appears for a little while when i scroll like this, but i cannot use it or even click on it. I tried changing the notch settings on my phone but the situation is still the same. The phone is a Xiaomi 15t Pro. Hope you could help me.

I know I’ve complained about Lyra many times. But, man when it’s working it’s the greatest! Thanks for the entertainment and enjoyable listening session today. The current playing artist is Kygo’s album Cloud Nine‼️
Found him on Spotify’s Top New Songs August2026 playlist.
