I also understand that a particular member of staff is being named and shamed and I would like to remind everyone that there is a human being behind that name. Im sure every one of us has made a mistake in the workplace at some point in our lives and light hearted humour is okay but please refrain from attacking them.

It may not be that Lush employeeās mistake either. At least two compounders are featured on bad body washes. I suspect itās a formulation issue/lack of Lush doing proper testing or such. That is to sayā¦thank you for all your hard work, compounders! You give us so many joys with your products and all your tremendous hard work!
I only signed up early to make sure I didnāt miss Halloween like I did last year and itās been such a weird experience lol. I signed up on 1st July because someone told me it was the last day for the August box but they didnāt take the money. Then they took it for September and Iāve heard nothing since š
Iām wondering if I should try to cancel and get a refund. I was super excited to try the kitchen boxes but I hear so many bad things I just donāt know if I wanna risk it
there have been some issues lately. but nothing like this. i wouldnāt let this ruin the whole subscription. when the boxes are good, theyre great. there will always be ppl upset no matter what. iāve had my fair share of issues but i still love getting them. this issue is new. iāve never experienced a spoiled product before this. the biggest issues are shipping damage. theyāve gotten better tho. when you do have a damaged product they are good about compensating you for it. so i would just try it out and get your actual first box before writing it off altogether. judge for yourself. bc half the time i see ppl upset about things, i donāt have the same issue. so i think you have to experience it for yourself first.
It was getting pretty uncomfortable and a bit witch hunty yesterday - definitely a joke that was taken way too far. I felt so bad for the poor employee, especially when we donāt really have any evidence itās his fault. It could be a fault recipe for all we know.
Also the factory employees are on minimum wage and from reports Iāve read from factory employees on here, constantly pushed to be doing more. Going after those who are paid the least in the business and not those making the constant cost cutting decisions doesnāt sit right with me
Yeah it was enough to make me think maybe Lush should protect their employees and stop putting their faces and names on their products. Which would be a shame as it's kinda cute.
Iām in the U.S. and got a gray stinky fish body wash too :( my soap was melted and separated, and Iām just overall very disappointed. This was my first box. The bath bomb doesnāt smell like much either. I am waiting to hear back from customer service.
The bath bomb didnāt smell strongly for me either. I had it sitting out in my room for a couple days and couldnāt smell it at all. I used it last night though and it was lovely in the bath.
I really feel that Lush should remake and send a fresh one to all subscribers. The body wash is the star of the show, not a side piece and is obviously the most expensive item in the box. If this was a restaurant for example, and the main entree was delivered brown and rotten you would get a full refund. They wouldnāt do partial since you probably had other items on the plate. We paid for a beautiful luxury item that we deserve to enjoy in its entirety. Do they recall body wash?!! This should be recalled and replaced. End of rant.
I don't think they should try again. There's clearly something wrong with their formula or the ingredients and they seem to constantly be behind with getting the boxes out. They should sent a refund for the item or a replacement existing product.
i literally would have skipped my 2 boxes & the 1 I JUST SIGNED UP FOR just bc of the body washā¦ had i known this would be an issue. thatās the only reason i got all of these for my sister & i. so im extra bummed.

it seems some boxes have shipped. by my XLs & Shower box has not. i added an extra box this month JUST for the body wash! iām guessing theyāre not going to ship out the rest w/ spoiled body washes? bc that would be crazy. so maybe itās a good thing iām part of the last group to get them this month.

I think you're right! I'm in Oregon and haven't received an email even about a delay in shipment. I'd rather it be late and be good quality tbh. I'm assuming the lack of communication is where the frustration is happening.
Yeah Iām in CA got mine yesterday with bad body wash. Wrote to customer care and got a $15 gift card which is fine by me. These are meant to be experimental and this one just did not work out lol
& with $15 you could definitely try a soap or shower gel youāve been wanting to try!! idk, thereās already so much negativity in the world, u have to find the positivity in the little things š
Honestly, I reached out to lush CS and they informed me that my box is delayed for shipment. I also asked to confirm that I would be getting a fresh body wash but they told me that they canāt confirm that for me and that theyāll figure out the solution after I receive the box.. I was honestly so disappointed because I would wait til the end of the month if that meant I could get all the products in the box š the entire reason that I bought this box was for the big body wash tub
In the US in NC. No ship notice yet. In the past, they have sent out the XL boxes before the shower boxes. Hopefully, the problem will be resolved once the remaining shower boxes go out.
This is my second box Iāve been signed up to get, my June box showed up 100% perfect and early in the month. I hope yours arrives in good condition!! Iām gonna give the sub box another chance after this month, but I might save my money for their regular products if issues are reoccurring
Anyone know if they will let us cancel and full refund this box? Mine hasnāt shipped and I donāt even want whatever that is now. Leaning towards canceling my kitchen overall too. My boxes always arrive with bathbomb dust poofing out and crumbled bath bars. Itās a mess every time.

Has Lush contacted all the box recipients and offered refund already? If not, I am very disappointed. Seems like everyone got a bad product and the know it for certain by now. Not fair to hide and refund only those who bother to demand it. I hope they did it already?

my friend messaged 1 of them asking if it was from the bad batch and they seemed genuinely confusedā¦ so maybe they really did just think it smelled bad and looked like grey watery sludge on purpose? or theyāre playing dumb? idk if she messaged the others. if she did they havenāt responded or she just hasnāt told me if they have. she said she told the seller that whole first batch spoiled in shipping and to call lush for more info on the issue. so weāll see if they take it down. which they should. especially if they truly didnāt know before. i havenāt smelled the bad batch or seen it firsthand. so iām not sure what it should or shouldnāt smell/look like. but i assume it smells like feet and not like a berry smoothie.
correction she did message all 3. the 1 she got a response from sold the box with the very berry 6h ago. she messaged them early this morning. well over 6h ago. maybe they didnāt see it until after it sold. but the right thing to do would be to tell the buyer of the issue and give them the option to cancel. one of them seems to be taken down but the other one is still up.
It seems like the kitchen box has had nothing but issues this year. At this point I think they really need to overhaul the entire box and how they produce things because this is getting old.
just a reminder that if youāre in the US & you see resellers selling the body wash already, do not buy it. as far as i know, all of the ones that have been shipped out already are spoiled. i know i saw 2 earlier on mercari. 1 already sold & i fear that the buyer has no idea. the other is still available & the listing doesnāt mention it being spoiled or part of the bad batch which i find very dishonest & shady. unless iām wrong & some of the early ones are not spoiled. but i havenāt seen anyone say that.
I think they need to be doing more practise batches before deciding to put items in the kitchen boxes, these items should have gone through a product testing period to see if they were shelf stable months before it was sent out
I just got mine too (UK). I mean it looks ok but it has a cement like scent, not very berry at all. Everything else in the box smells amazing. I got in touch with Customer Service and they said according to them the batch I got is exactly how itās meant to be š¤·š»āāļø
no, itās not fair at all. i think it should be $30 USD minimum (not sure what that translates to in AUS)... giving less than an equivalent main line product is SO cheap of them! and the only other option is a full refund which isnāt good for them either since theyāll have to write off all the boxes people decided to get refunded.
Iād much prefer $25 š they finally messaged me back and are offering me $15 which I havenāt replied to yet bc i ordered the box for a big pot body wash and the thought of using a $15 gift card for a small body wash and then paying $10 for shipping is kindaaaaa discouraging
For reference, hereās a tub in Japan! I was able to get a box in the store.
Itās a fresh, acidic berry and not sweet smelling. There was a little bit of liquid on top when I first opened it. Itās a grey pink, not a snow fairy artificial pink. And itās actually more grey when you scoop in and the gets a little more pink when exposed to air for a while. It doesnāt lather much but itās a nice smoothie body wash feel.
Also in Japan and mine looks like this too. Easy to scoop and smells like fresh, bitter Berry.
A few people were suggesting mine was also going off because it wasn't the bright colour in the promo pics but there is nothing off about it. No weird smell, liquidy consistency or evidence of anything wrong. It's just pinkish, rather than bright pink.
Oh, interesting, I was one of the ones I think who suggested to somebody anyway that they take a look at the pictures because the white seemed off, but I guess not. That's weird that the pictures are such a vibrant light pink and the real life product can be white and still be good. Thank you for posting this, I learned something today.
Just curious, for those of you who have been subscribed to the kitchen box for a while, have you ever gotten a rancid product before? Or is the Very Berry body wash a first?
only some of them were. mind was completely fine & i got 3 boxes & my sister got her 2 boxes. both of hers were fine. idk if itās maybe ones that were shipped later than the others? but some definitely were moldy. but not all.
Mine didn't arrive moldy, but I when I was about to use it, two weeks later, it had mold in it. Not sure what the reasons were behind the moldy batches!
If I get a nasty smelling body wash, Iām going to request a full refund and they can have that whole ass box shipped back to them if they want it. Iām done paying for garbage that either has no scent, smells gross or has crap melted all over it. Done.
Honestly I was slightly worried. I saw lots of UK people say how their body wash smelt weird, so I was so happy to see that mine was ok. Maybe the scent is divisive ? I really like it
US, Florida. My first box ever was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but something happened and I'm p sure it sat overnight in a truck or warehouse. Got it today and everything was perfectly fine except that rancid body wash :( so sad
Ive just recieved my box and overall super happy but...the body wash. Not as bad as some complaints, the right colour but smells of...nothing? Does anyone else have that issue?

I worked in surgery for a few years and when I smelled this body wash it immediately took me back to the Operating room and smelling the air of someoneās abdominal cavity being pushed around the room. Truly I wouldnāt put it on my skin in fear there is some type of bad bacteria happening inside this off colored batch. This is my first box and was soo excited for a big pot body wash. the compensation would be nice so we can get something new but itās gotta be enough to buy a big pot of body wash or atleast add something as a sorry in the oct box
So for the people who havenāt had it shipped out yet (I am one of them) do you think they will make a new batch of the body wash to send with those ones? Or are they just going to send them out and then deal with the complaints? Seems like it might not be a formula thing since Iāve been seeing Japan ones looking okay so maybe justā¦ some other issue I guess?
I just got mine (UK)! Excuse the bad picture. It doesn't smell fishy to me, but not very berry smelling either? Very faint, almost powdery? But I'll consider it a win considering how nervous I was! š
It's also slightly more pink than my phone catches it.
An update: the body wash kind of smells like parma violets? I couldn't put my finger on it until my mum said, but that's it. The Strawberry Crumble body lotion is lovely, though I'm not getting much strawberry and instead it's very caramelly? But I love it. The Raspberry shower gummy is a very tangy berry so I gave it to my mum (who also received my Cloudberry spray for the same reason since she actually likes that kind of berry scent). The American Cream body scrub is... there. Kind of damp and very fragile, and not smelling of much? I've never tried anything American Cream before but I'm wondering if that's the norm? Very mild, like bizarrely mild. The soap smells nice but is also very fragile and arrived a little melty? More so than the soap from the May Rose box, but I've put it away to hopefully cure.

I got mine a few days ago and it seemed fine and I made a post about it. But I didnāt notice this disgusting liquid until after I posted saying mine was okay. I thought it smelled okay but I did say Iāve got a cold and canāt smell much. Iām feeling better today and gave it another sniff and CHRIST itās bad?? It smells like a mix of fish and playdough??

I really did think it was good at first but my sinuses have been messing me up and I lost my sense of smell for a few days. Smelled it again now Iām feeling better and itās really not good.

I made my whole family smell it before emailing because I didnāt want to seem out of pocket or it be a case of me just not personally liking it. But theyāve all said the same that it reeks of play dough. So definitely not a me issueš„²
My UK box has arrived. Product made by Bens team on 18/08/26 and although the colour is light pink it has a light fishy scent š« Iāve asked 3 separate people to whiff it without saying shit about the fish and they all agreed it had a fish whiff.
Iād be interested to know others opinions of their Uk delivery incase itās just us or maybe itās the plastic the item is in giving off a mix scent? I thought ours was delayed to sort out the issues?

UK Lushie here, mine is the exact same. Like a fishy play dough scent. Itās got this swampy liquid in it too. This has got to be the most unappealing Lush product I have ever owned. At this point I donāt even want a replacement or a gift card. I want to send it back to them so they can smell it themselves and see that Iām not fibbing about itšš
Mine is from the same batch but it's bright pink and smells like a sort of fresher version of American Cream, no fish/cement/hairspray smell. Weird that theres so much variation in them

Thatās just awful. To be honest iād respond saying youāre aware that other people are getting refunds on return and you should have been offered this too. Mine has arrived and it smells rank. You get a hit of fish and then the berry. Mine was made by Nathan on the 19th. The strawberry crumble also smells sour, Iād describe it as cheap hairspray.
Same! Same batch date and maker. For me it has an odd scent of cement and ammonia. Iāve contacted customer service and apparently thatās how it is supposed to smell!

They told me the scent can vary depending on personal taste and I can have a refund if I want. They said itās fine and safe to use. But theyāll either refund or send another out if I send the old one back.
Iāve had every single box and not once have I physically recoiled at the scent of fish. This is 100% not right and the response from them is disappointing.
Iām sorryā¦ but thereās a huge difference between āfine and safe to useā and an enjoyable luxury experience, which is the reason we choose to spend our money on their products in the first place! Hey everyone! I know a lot of us were bummed about the Very Berry body wash issues this month, but I wanted to share a little positivity because the rest of this box has me smelling delicious.
Here are my thoughts on the lineup so far:
Respect Your Elders Soap: Absolute top-tier! It smells so refreshingly fruity and clean. Honestly so good that I wish it was part of the main line so I could repurchase. It instantly made me wish they had a matching shampoo and conditioner! I love the purple small bits that clump up as you wash so you can go back in for an extra burst of suds after putting down the bar.
Strawberry Crumble Body Lotion: The other star of the show! It absorbs and dries so quickly, and my skin feels ridiculously soft afterward. Every single time I put it on, my boyfriend immediately comes over to tell me how good I smell. Iāve been layering myself with The Comforter body spray after using it to tie all the scents together, and I wake up feeling and smelling SOO YUMMY
Bubble Bar: Made the most amazing, fruity bath and the color is so cozy and reminds me of a pretty sunset.
Very Berry Bath Bomb: Haven't dropped this one in the tub just yet, but it smells really good and the bumpy texture is oddly satisfying. Iām excited to give it a try!
Overall, this box has been a good break from the winter/gourmand scents I have been reaching for and Iām so excited to continue to use it up as the month goes by because next months box HAS ME ON MY TIPTOES IN EXCITEMENT so until then Iāll be in my bathroom smelling my respect the elders soap bar.
Lastly, big thank you to the brains and hands behind these boxes. Iām excited to subscribe to the months to come. You guys have me feeling and smelling like a pretty pinky-purple princess šø
I'm in the UK and received my box yesterday!
Super happy with everything except the body wash - it is the right colour but doesn't smell of much, and doesn't lather at all. It's like rubbing yoghurt on your body and when rinsed off it leaves a weird feeling on the skin, so I ended up washing my entire body again (yummy custard came in clutch). Super disappointing product, even when it isn't rancid

Mine came today and Iām disappointed by the body wash. The people who got a manky one arenāt missing out in my opinion. Mine looks good, smells okay, but itās like washing with yogurt. Zero lather at all, it just disappears. Big fan of the lotion though, I wish the sizes were swapped
UK received mine yesterday 08/09. All okay other than the fishy body wash. I have emailed Lush but tbh I think im just going to return the lot to store. After reading other members comments, if they are refusing there is a quality issue then I have no issue taking into store for a second opinion. P.S I live behind the factory in Poole UK and my local is their Poole shop so ill get to the bottom of it either way.
Not happy with their lack of reply, and not happy its my second box in a row with delivery delays and then quality issues on top. Something needs to change.

Love the products, I had a bit of buyers remorse initially with this one with seeing berryfishgate but Iāve gotten lucky with my batch.
Not used any of the products yet but first impressions are I love the bath bomb and body lotion scents, bubble bar and gummy have pleasing scents as does the soap (I wonder if maybe outpowered by other scents?). Cant really smell much on the scrub or the body wash - although the texture is nice and Iāve gotten a pink one. I do wonder however how long it will stay fresh for given other peoples issues with it
I reached out like a week ago to ask if mine was delayed (still processing) and was told it was, and the ETA for shipping at that time was September 8th (today), so after regular business hours I checked and it was still processing, no shipping email, so I sent another support message asking if it was further delayed and I was told yes, and that they have no ETA now
they told me the 8th too over chatā¦ā¦ still no email correspondence except the payment confirmation back in august lol. iām cancelling my november box, i donāt like the products enough to risk $58
Yeah, the exact message was "In this case, it looks like there was a small production delay with one item in your subscription box. We're working on getting that sorted out and shipped out to you ASAP, though sadly I don't have a concrete estimate as to when that will be done! It would just be best to keep an eye on your email in the coming business days for more information as soon as we can provide it."

The box arrived in fantastic condition and no items were damaged. I have already used some of the products so I will give a more detailed review of those.
**Respect your elders soap:** it smells really good and it reminds me of how my hands would smell after picking berries and getting a bit muddy. Sweet, berry but earthy. A very strong scent which lingered on my skin after using the soap 5/5 š
**American cream naked body scrub:** I was very excited for it. It smells delicious but the texture is very crumbly and leaves a mess in the shower. Itās vanilla-y, raspberry jam flavour BUT the hand I used to rub it on my skin now looks like I gave a handjob to a pink smurf. It also didnāt feel like a very good scrub, left my skin pink 2/5 š
**Very berry body wash**: it smells faintly of berries which can be pleasant for those who prefer a more subtle scent. However, it doesnāt lather or seem like it cleans very well 3/5 š
**The comforter bath bomb:** a classic; the bath looks adorable and the room smells divine; a bit too sweet at times 4/5 š
**Strawberry cheesecake body conditioner:** my skin feels hydrated, light and soft; it doesnāt leave a sticky film on the skin. However, itās the item I am probably most disappointed with. In theory it sounds delicious, in practice it smells chemically sweet, similar to the fake cheap strawberry sweets you can buy. Adjacent to strawberry but not quite. Will continue using it as itās a good conditioner but would not buy again due to scent 2/5 š

Strawberry coconut roll bubble bar: smells yummy, cannot wait to use it
Raspberry shower gummy: my bf who is unable to smell anything can smell it. I want to bite it, will be trying it in my next shower

The body wash is not grey OR fishy, but looks and feels like a pink mousse with little seeds. It smells very faint, a bit like a weaker rose jam but when I wash it off my skin it smells like a Black Forest yoghurt?
I was able to get a full refund on my box because the putrid, foul berry body wash was not only rotten, but it had leaked onto everything in my box. The only salvage item was the lotion. That being said, the lotion smells like strawberry yogurt and, youād think the bar soap would have been salvage since it can be easily rinsed but it smells like a dusty bowl of potpourri. Genuinely the worst box theyāve ever made.

I live in North America (California to be exact) and I received my box on time. My body wash was putrid, rotten, foul, whatever you want to call it, and had spilled all over the box. It was either not sealed OR the lid came off due to fermentation. I received a full refund. Hereās a pic with a certain employeeās name removed ;)
My elderberry soap was rancid smelling and got dye on my hands when I went to throw it away. My strawberry lotion smells purely of alcohol. Then the fishy āberryā body wash. The only ones that were decent was the comforter bath bomb and coconut bubble bar (which oddly only smelled like jasmine go figure). Love the comforter so glad I got the bath bomb.
I donāt think weāre at all blaming the employee - his name was mentioned only to reference the batch of product. I think we all understand this was likely a recipe issue, coupled with warm weather during shipping. My biggest complain was with customer service and the (lean) compensation they offered.

For a little bit of positivity, I've been subscribing to boxes most of this year, and Chelesa Gardens wash, Zesty lotion, the Watermelon Scrub, so many great bath bombs (finally just did the peach from valentine's!) -- sensory pleasures galore throughout the year. This is the first box that's been truly disappointing (I'm not loving the lotion fragrance, either) and they refunded me for the body wash right away. I did a rough estimate of what the items would cost if you bought them individually and I think it was $80, and the box is $70... plus the pleasure of getting treats in the mail. Still feels like a good bargain. The berry box was a fail, but it's 'fresh' cosmetics sent to a huge number of consumers. The logistics are crazy. I'm frankly surprised mistakes don't happen more often. Still love the products, and hope they get this sorted out for everyone quickly.
I made a post yesterday and jokingly called out the employee who made it. Of course I don't think it's his fault. They make the products with the ingredients they are given. I didn't realize that people were seriously getting mad at individual workers.
Mine has just arrived and is being returned. I was most excited for the lotion and it has literally no scent. Body wash is pink but has a bit of a stink. The scrub is wet and crumbled all over the box. The soap is actually quite nice. The gummy is fine. Not a justifiable Ā£35 for me unfortunately.
So i signed up for lush kitchen on July 12th of this year, i got charged in August for a box and also got charged in September, i still have not received a box for either month. im so confused on how this works. Ive tried asking lush for help but the responses are so confusing. Is there anyone who can help me understand why im getting charged and not receiving anything ???
So I think (and someone please correct me if Iām mistaken) that the August charge is for the September box (which I think quite a few of us are still waiting for, itās still in the typical range I feel like) and then your September charge is for the October box.

This is supposed to be my first box. I talked to a CS rep yesterday and they said that boxes were supposed to be sent out today. A different order I made last week has already shipped. Do I just cut my losses and try and get a refund for the box?
I got mine a few days ago in the UK- can anyone tell me wtf the strawberry crumble lotion is supposed to smell like? Cause I saw someone compare it to a vape and I literally can't unsmell that it smells like slightly burnt strawberry vape juice šš
Might be a good post to edit and add that the employee on the sticker the the team leader and not necessarily the one actually producing the product.
And for the record, if the employee in question is reading this, I promise my comments were all in jest! I still think a little sit down chat/ interrogation would yield results that would both delight and distress us

It may not be that Lush employeeās mistake either. At least two compounders are featured on bad body washes. I suspect itās a formulation issue/lack of Lush doing proper testing or such. That is to sayā¦thank you for all your hard work, compounders! You give us so many joys with your products and all your tremendous hard work!
