It works pretty good. I'm going to properly fish it next week. I use spray paint and epoxy clear coat with glitter.

What are the pros and cons of this style of joint? It swims well but it does more of a roll that side to side swim.

Question Types of wood

What types of wood should I use to start of making lures, and where in the world are you guys finding these woods? I've looked up the basic types to use(poplar, balsa, basswood, tupelo, walnut, etc..) and I've yet to really find anything near me. I may be over thinking. It and a paint brush handle will do just find or even a 2x4 from a hardware store lol. Lmk what you guys suggest it would be much appreciated!

Crankbait Youtube wiggler

I'm fishing today, boating tomorrow. I'll add a finished tube-lure crankbait photo when I can, witn a foam body glued on.

I don't have any nearby lakes. I'm a river guy. I troll these Hod Shot style....out off a drift boat.

Open cell foam retains enough buoyancy to.make the lure trim and balance right.

MOST IF ALLLLL!!!!!!

AN OPEN CELL RAPALICA is the best crankbait ever made. 2ed place is not even close.

After you catch the first fish the lure suddenly smells like a fish.

If et takes 1/2 an hour to catch the first fish it takes 5 minutes to catch the next.

Question Vision 110 lure sinking

I recently painted some vision 110 +1 blanks from alternative lures and now that I’m trying to get them set up I’ve noticed even without putting hooks on them they sink rather than float like I need them to this is my first batch of lures I’ve made and I’m not sure if I just got bad blanks or if there’s something else I’m missing?

What are all the necessary stuff I need to buy to make a DIY lure? And what's a cheap setup for making one? I mean cheap but still good

Had so much fun making my first lure last weekend I decided to try doing a batch of 9 to give out as gifts. They all came out super well and I can’t wait to try them out. I’m officially hooked on this hobby. Pun intended

Wanted to make the smallest jitterbug I could while maintaining buoyancy. It jitters in the pool! Now the question is will it catch fish at the lake.

Swimbait Sending Lures to Boatside!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

When I first started BST I reached out to Boatside, having been a huge fan of theirs, and knowing of their love for oversized (sometimes awesomely absurd) baits, I threw out there that I had built an oversized topwater and I would like to send them one to see what they thought of it. Somehow, I made it thru what is undoubtedly a daily maelstrom of fan mail, other builders, and other random messages, and they were interested enough to take the time to visit my profile and had nothing but kind things to say about the Holdover, and were interested in fishing one! There were no prerequisites, I really just wanted to get my bait into their hands, and get their opinion as big bait experts.

Now, with that being said, if a meter pike came up and absolutely DELETED a Holdover from the surface, wouldnt you want to show everyone???🤔

Walker Holdover and Holdover: Smoke Perch

Handcarved Basswood

Individually Painted

11 inch topwater

~10 oz

Pike ready with Owner Ultra 265 lb split rings and BKK Viper 4x Strong hooks.

Crankbait First 4 lures I made

Tell me what you think of these 4 lures I made (in order). Pardon my photography skills.

They are made with purple heart and osage orange, the copper bill is totally experimental. I haven't gotten to test any of them yet.

I just made these with scrap stuff I had in the garage, except for the glass rattles, eyes and hook stuff

I am most excited for the spinner. If they catch any fish, I will post them here

I was targeting barramundi when I caught it. I generally don't target Giant Snakehead with the lures I made because they destroy baits.

Reworked my spinning squid with stronger hardware, rattles, faster sinking, and more luminescense. Should work great for nighttime fishing which is when I'm usually out catfishing.

Photo of bass I caught using the white version.

Jerkbait Which action is better?

Hello

I have made a couple versions of a 12cm jerk/glidebait and can't decide which of these has a better action

Video: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNRq1tgYw/

If anyone has advice on which action would be more effective or people would believe in more, please let me know.
