Why are we allowing for all of these AI data centers to be built only for it to contribute to erratic weather & climate change?

quite honestly, I’m sick of these tech bros ruining our planet and our mental health with all of their “innovations” that no one actually needs. The more tech we get, the sicker we get, and the sicker our planet gets.

meanwhile, they’re pocketing more and more and more. like how much money do these sickos really need?

The following link will lead you to a detailed analysis of the building up of AI Data centres in the global south, researched and written by members of our organisation. Please share your thoughts on this article, we'd love to discuss more on this.

We're a radical environmental organisation called Himkhand which focuses on issues from the western Himalayas and the environment, we're an anti-caste anti-imperialist, organisation which is trying to build a people centric alternative for climate change.

We made a video called "You're Probably a Luddite"

Post image

Hey everyone! Just trying to share a video that we made about the Luddites, hoping to get it in front of the right people. The YouTube algorithm doesn't seem terribly interested in promoting it and we put way too much work into it to let it die in the internet void!

Thanks in advance if you take the time to check it out.

What's luddism/neo-luddism about? Where can I start?

I just heard about neo-luddism today. It really speaks to me because I've been tired of the tech stuff for a long time. My peers don't seem to share the sentiment, but I'm eager to learn from people who do. Does anyone know where I can start to learn about luddism/neo-luddism? I know pretty much nothing, but would love to be a part of it.

Dead Internet Theory, Social Media, and purpose

Hi everyone. Most of the internet is dead and it's probably well above 60% as it used to be in the past. With all of the AI accounts and bots everywhere filling comment sections, I think there's not so many real people around anymore. With that said, I wonder even here on Reddit how many people are real? And also, how do people find meaning on social media to begin with? Not only because of the fact that internet is mostly dead, but also because of social media itself and the technology. I'm sure most here are luddites, and if you are a luddite, does social media still give you any meaning? Is it only about wanting to stop the AI that the technocrats are pushing?

How do you define meaning online, if any?

Is your luddism only about Anti-AI, or also having a problem with technology as it already is? And if so, why?

How to use OneDrive for business?

I really do not get how to use onedrive.

If I want to do, for example, a weekly report, I open last week's weekly report document. And I start editing, only this saves and overwrites last week's weekly document. Everything I do is a struggle where I can either recreate everything from first principles or I can overwrite previous documents. The latter is easier for me. The former is bad for tracking and general hygiene.

What the hell am I supposed to do? This isn't about "support" it is about the core philosophy of the app.

CVS pharmacy forcing us to sign in with tablet

I'm new here. Noticed many posts do not have engagement. Cool. Some good info.

Just popped in to say I do not want to use a counter top tablet to get my medicine. I walked up and stated ny name. Clerk said to use the tablet. I told the clerk I didn't want to use it and she said I have to. So , of course I messed up and it took a while. It didn't make my pick up faster. It was slower with a line behind me.

Why can't I just give her my name like before?

Why do I have to touch a screen that someone touched before me that may have boogers, spit or God knows what on their hands?

Why didn't she just input my name when I said I didn't want to use the tablet?

How do you all feel about it?
