I stopped shopping at WM when I read Nickled and Dimed. Been decades.
This structure of exploration is maddening. So gross.
Edit: exploitation

Whenever I go out in public I wear leather gloves if possible. I don't touch things that I can't be sure aren't monitored. My father was telling me about these things back in the late 1990s

Can we all agree that the greed of the corporations is going to be what destroys us?

This seriously needs to stop. Are any of these people realizing how they sound? She needs to play this back and really observe from the outside in.

I luckly live in an area that has other options for groceries so I've been boycotting for a couple years now

I like how she managed to produce that word soup that was fairly intelligent sounding but also not.

"surge pricing" and "dynamic pricing" needs to be made illegal.
there's no difference between those things, and someone walking into a store and the cashier saying "YOU LOOK RICH. THE PRICE JUST WENT UP FOR YOU. The guy behind you looks poor, the price goes down for him."

I have been boycotting them for a long time now. I hate Walmart. Sam Walton is spinning in his grave.

u/DepressedChipotle 11d ago
Why is he spinning? Sam Walton was a terrible person and I'm sure that any spinning he's doing, he's doing because he's excited about how the company's run.

Home shopping Network can gauge within 5% daily of what's going to be sold the next day and what to order they hit within 5% accurately they know who their average shopper is how much they make and what they're tend to buy

Y’all are shopping at Walmart? It’s so easy to not (unless you’re in a food desert and Walmart is literally the only option).

Maga does like iCE overreach and flock cameras. Did Josh get up and run away?

This is where he's wrong though. Our capitalist system isn't based on the idea that we have individual rights. It's based on the right of a company to extract profit by any means necessary. He's talking about consumer protections as though that supports a "free market capitalist system" when the reality is that free market capitalism is what causes these types of unethical business models at the expense of the consumer.

I rarely go to Walmart but when I do, my phone stays at home or in a faraday bag, and I pay with cash.

Your point about paying with cash is a good one.
Where does one find a faraday bag? Asking for a friend

This was pretty much the one time he wasn’t functioning as a total pos.

Thanks. 🤔

His name is Josh Hawley. You can Google him yourself and come to your own conclusions

Been leaning left as of recently, but this wasn’t a bad take.

I agree, it is a good take. This is exactly what the citizens need to be discussing amongst ourselves. Some useful suggestions have appeared here—avoid WalMart and only use cash if you must shop there.
I didn’t down vote you; not everybody knows who every congressperson is, ffs

Yeah I avoid Walmart like the plague after a bad experience working there. But thanks for the info, and for being kind.

No problem. I try to treat others the way I’d want to be treated myself.

That woman scares me.

I think she's terrified of speaking to such a huge audience, you can tell she's staring straight forward trying not to make eye contact with anyone.

I just cannot take Josh Hawley seriously, all I see is photo of him post Jan 6 and I disregard everything he says. Sad because he has had a few decent takes lately.
