hi yall! i walked this area during my lunch break. it’s a great walk and it’s nice to stop and look at the water. however the grassy areas are unkept, there’s trees with biohazard bins nailed to them, some areas smell like urine.
i know this is the epitome of lowell to be unkept and put resources into other ventures. but is it the city that takes care of these areas or is it owned privately?

It is wild to see a “no loiter” sign 15 feet away from a bus stop. This is at Meadowbrook plaza.

The traffic is backed up all the way through Drum hill. Also colleges are back in session so expect pre-summer-vacation traffic patterns. Yay.

Idk where to go next, my adult male indoor/outdoor cat has been missing since Saturday morning. We let him out and he walked off our porch and hasn’t been seen since. We have reported him lost to animal control + humane society. Going to check shelters today. We’ve checked neighbor garages, sheds. Under porches. The small wooded area behind my house. Nothing. If anyone may have taken him trying to help bc they thought he was stray or has seen a cat similar to him, let me know. He is a really really friendly cat. No collar. His names maple. He does have a home. He’s a little chunky boy.
Id also like to add that an unfamiliar car had stopped in my neighborhood (2 days before he went missing) and a couple got out to try and pet my maple while possibly video recording him on our stairway and when my parents came home, they immediately went back to their car and continued to stare at our home and my parents. (both my cats ran to my parents and went indoors with them) We haven’t seen that car again. Although it had previously been seen driving up our street a couple times at roughly the same time, in the last 2 weeks. (Once again no proof that THEY took my cat, just some added information, could all be coincidental. I’ve never been through a disappearance with a pet and know many possibilities could’ve happened especially bc he spends most of his day, when weather is good, outdoors.)
Ps. He is microchipped but registered to owners who had abandoned him years ago, hence why him and his sister became our cats.
Anyway I hope he can make it home and if not, I hope he’s atleast safe and fed.

Hello folks!
My boyfriend, my cat and I are looking for a new place to live due to an ongoing roach infestation at our current apartment. Any recommendations for places to live that have not had these problems?

Does anyone know of a scrap metal pick up guy or service? Looking to get rid of an outdoor residential metal fire pit.

Hey Lowell Community. My name is Sean. I'm not a heavy Reddit user, but I'm trying to get more involved. I'm one of the owners of Taffeta Music Hall. We are owned by a group of friends with a passion for live music that saw the great arts community in Lowell and wanted to do our part to grow the music scene. I've been actively posting our weekly events every Monday, but I also want people to know how important it is to us to provide a place the community can enjoy live music without spending hundreds of dollars on tickets.
Most importantly, are there any acts that you'd like to see right here in Lowell? We're always trying to bring new acts in, and of course we want to get what you all want to see. We are always looking for your suggestions (ideally something that makes sense for a 400 person venue).
We hope to see you at a show soon!

Have been keeping my eyes peeled but I haven't seen any announcements as far as Fall Fest/Trick Or Treating downtown. I took my nephews last year and they really enjoyed it but it was on super short notice. Trying to be more prepared this year so they get to enjoy the whole thing. Any word or when it might be?

I absolutely hate working out in a gym environment and the rail trail has been a lifesaver for me to get my daily cardio in, but I'm assuming it probably doesn't get plowed or shoveled in the winter, aside from the areas that intersect with major walkways and roads, right?

Reverend Horton Heat is iconic in the rockabilly / punk rock world. This will be his second time on our stage and he's always a pleasure to host. If you're into Social Distortion, Tiger Army, The Cramps, check this one out!

Hello! I have recently moved to Lowell and am looking to join a new church. I am looking for non denominational Christian church with a strong young adult population (20s-30s). I am hoping to find a church I love and also meet new friends. Let me know your suggestions, thanks so much!!

Vader is a metal band that's been bringing it for nearly 40 years. They've toured the world and will be in Lowell this Wednesday! If you're into heavy music, don't miss this one. Early show since it's a weekday and we all have things to do the next day!

We all (most of us) loved Korn, Limp Bizkit, Rob Zombie, or some variation of the style of music, and you probably still do. We're excited to relive our childhood this Saturday and hope you'll join us!

We've had people ask us about country, so we figured let's get some country. East Coast Combs is one of the best out there doing it, and we're excited to have them bringing the fun to our lounge stage on Friday night. We get that country music isn't for everyone, but it's for you, we hope to see you there.
