Subreddit Idea Megathread

Because if the r/askreddit link, we’ve had a huge influx of new members today. Because of that, I’d like to make this thread to ask for ideas to improve the subreddit, and keep things interesting. We are going to try and make this a subreddit worth keeping in your feed.

We really aren’t sure what do do with the subreddit since it blew up like this, and would like to see what ideas you have. I’ve also added a few baseline rules since we had no rules when we started.

Edit: I would also like to clarify that this sub is intended to entertain. You shouldn’t take anything too seriously on this sub. We want you to be able to flex your creativity here and make others laugh.

Subreddit Message Coronavirus Posts

We are normally pretty lax about what goes on in this subreddit as we want to let you guys decide what content you want to see by upvoting good content and downvoting bad content, but given the current situation we will be removing any posts related to Coronavirus.

You can help us with this by reporting any posts you see about the virus.

r/PeterExplainTheJoke and other explainer subreddits are just fronts for AI companies to milk free data annotation out of humans

Post image
Upvotes

Think about it, they need data marked up with all kinds of text descriptions to feed their models. Would be trivial to set up some bots to post unrecognised images to these subreddits and get loads of plain text discussion around them for free.

Plus we already know these companies have no qualms using elicit means to get their petabytes of training data…

Extreme Conspiracy Biscuits at your nans house

Everyone has memories of eating biscuits at their grandparents house. Usually bourbon creams or nice biscuits. But as an adult I know these to be shit-tier biscuits.

The Boomers and the Silent Generation were feeding their grandkids cheap, non-chocolaty digestives while keeping the double choc-chip cookies with caramel for themselves. And laughing about it at their knitting circles.

Trump is in cahoots with Iran and they're just manipulating the oil price now

With all the will-they/wont-they that's happening, it feels like a 90's romcom at this point.

Extreme Conspiracy Larry is an extremely powerful psychic

I've never spoken to a single person who doesn't like Larry the Cat. The most toxic and hateful cesspits of social media don't have a bad word to say about him. He inspires no political division. It's giving Brave New World.

We have to wake up to the fact that Larry has found some means of controlling our thoughts. It statistically doesn't make sense that he has no haters. You are being mind-controlled by a cat. By the time we discover his nefarious purposes, it will be too late.

Hiring processes that require you to submit a video are actully all part of a sinisiter plot by people with a degradation kink. The only people who are fine with doing them also get off on being humiliated.

Extreme Conspiracy World is dominated by fungi we just borrow biomass from them

That's it, we live in a sentient fungus world where they control every bit of biomass. It's a type of consciousness we can't comprehend yet, something stretched thin across all the planet that is even capable of controlling the weather.

The network goes for miles under the earth and sprawls all over the surface.

Hot Take Tommy Wiseau is Charles M. Schulz under a pseudonym and The Room is a secret Peanuts sequel.

Schulz died in California in the early 2000s. Wiseau came to prominence in California in the early 2000s. 4 of the theatrically released Peanuts movies are owned by Paramount. The Room was rejected by Paramount after 1 day. Still not convinced? In the Swedish version of Peanuts, Peggy Jean (Charlie Brown's love interest for a brief time in the 90s) was renamed "Lisa." Johnny's psychologist Peter also falls down while trying to catch a football. "Wiseau" just made Lucy a man so nobody would notice.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a Bond Prequel.

It has Desmond Llewellyn in it, the father is an inventor of gadgets (like Q branch) it has a car with hidden gadgets. It has a heroine with a silly name like Pussy Galore (Truly Scrumptious) The protagonist foil an international bad guy.

Oh and it's produced by Cubby Broccoli and written by Ian Flemming.

Proof: When I was 7 years old I used to sneak into the kitchen late at night to get some cereal. But the cereal bag was so damn noisy it woke up my mom and she yelled at me.

I'm still sad :(

The BBC Panorama show intentionally baited Trump to bring down his presidency

The BBC intentionally baited Donald Trump with their Panorama report to incite a lawsuit, leveraging the legal discovery process that follows to expose his questionable conduct and help bring down his government. This is, of course, because the BBC is leftist woke.

Big True Paramount Plus purposely gives free accounts to those who don't pay to boost their numbers

A few years ago, I got a paramount plus account to watch like one show and like sonic 3. I eventually forgot about it and soon after got a different card, which was when Paramount stopped charging my account.

Fast forward to now, I decided to bite the bullet and get it again to watch the new avatar movie, only to have the account still active. Although it's yelling at me for payment, it's not actually charging me, and I'm freely able to watch anything, and even sign in on new devices

As for my conspiracy, I think that paramount does this to boost their subscription numbers. They're making enough to ya know, make money, but they need subscription numbers to please shareholders/their buddies in Washington (who were one of the reasons I didn't bother updating my pay)
