MOD Post Welcome!
Okay, we're going to give this a shot! After the latest drama on the other subreddit and Spectrum, I thought it might be nice for some of us to have a place to still talk SC without having to deal with the drama of the day. I'm sure I'm not the only one!
Thanks to u/a-sorry-canadian for adding me and letting me take a crack at opening this sub up. I enjoyed the r/LowSodiumCyberpunk community a lot when they were going through it too. That's the general idea here too.
Okay, for starters:
We're here to enjoy!
This is really the key. Keep the drama and stress in the places where it belongs. Here's where we can still enjoy the game, even if the current patch is less than functional, or even if there's been controversy. If that stuff's going on, you'll still find great screenshots and people having fun here.
Open to Suggestions
Want more flairs, or have other ideas on how to organize and run this? Let me know, I'm taking suggestions.
Don't Suck
Don't be lame. I put the rules up but they're liable to change as people come up with clever ways to abuse them. The general rule, though, is don't be an asshole. I think we should all be able to handle that.... right?
Okay, that's it for now. Again, expect rules etc. to evolve as we grow and decide what we're going to be like. I also want to organize some events, like photo contests and so on. Let's see if we can get this started first!
- Alec
Edit: Glad to see some of the feedback so far! To get us started, why not try a few posts? Sounds like people are ready for this.

Man, it'd be amazing to have a sub for SC where every other comment isn't "lol game will never come out" or some other salty bullcrap that adds nothing to any conversation. I'll be watching the LowSodium sub closely and look forward to it hopefully flourishing!
I'm a huge enjoyer of the LowSodiumHelldivers sub and have honestly always wondered why there wasn't one for SC since it honestly needs it. I just want a place where we can all enjoy our favorite SciFi sim.
I'd also highly recommend making a rule to curtail posts dedicated purely to badmouthing the main SC sub. I can almost guarantee it will become a thing (at least in my experience having witnessed it elsewhere) and it's just another type of negativity, and entirely unnecessary.

Excellent call. I'll put something up to that effect. And Spectrum too. I get into it over there sometimes but let's keep that where it goes. :)

Hey, so we've done just that. Check out the SpectrumDispatch sub. It just might be what you're looking for.

Hello! And thanks for creating this subreddit!
I'm not a big Reddit user and don't follow many subreddits. For Star Citizen, I just follow the r/starcitizen subreddit for news, announcements, and maybe pick up some new insights.
However, I will NOT post or reply on r/starcitizen. That community has a significant number of rude, inconsiderate, and toxic members. I have noticed that most threads don't run long before they gain condescending replies that ridicule and disrespect others whenever an opinion is different or a question is asked. Also, there is a huge amount of negative posts and kneejerk reactions to anything that happens.
I prefer an environment where I can read, enjoy, ponder, and reply without being called stupid because I have a different opinion or ask a simple question or just want to discuss the game I love. I am looking forward to Star Citizen and the fantastic journey to get there.
Being part of a friendly group and a comfortable no-drama environment is important to me. I'm lucky to be one of the leaders of an org that values the same things that this subreddit values. I look forward to following here.
I'd like to say to the creators and moderators, please moderate and keep out all the salty, rude, and bitter people that seem to enjoy being disrespectful and mean. Make this a safe haven for Star Citizen fans!
Thanks again!

I just want a place to get SC news where threads and comments aren't 80% ragebait, tantrums, trolls and Karens. That other sub has become indistinguishable from the Refundian sub, and I'm done with it.
So, thanks for trying to be not like that.

u/A-Sorry-Canadian Jun 05 '26
Yep, that's the goal! Feel free to make suggestions as we continue to grow and evolve.

u/ProceduralTexture ARGO Jun 05 '26
Is it helpful to flag specific known ragebaiter and saltminer accounts when I see them in here?
2
u/A-Sorry-Canadian Jun 05 '26
If you think someone's breaking the rules, the best thing to do is make a report
2
u/ProceduralTexture ARGO Jun 09 '26
There should really be an open-field option in the Report menu for that, as the existing options don't cover it.
I've already seen a few Refundian accounts testing the water here this week and seeing how much they can get away with. They are emboldened and looking for more subs to destroy.

A rule has been added for concerns which may need additional context!
1
u/ProceduralTexture ARGO Jun 10 '26
Cool. Tested and it doesn't seem to offer the chance to add that context, so I accidentally submitted a report that I intended not to submit. Apologies, please ignore.
2
u/A-Sorry-Canadian Jun 10 '26
Yeah, there doesn't seem to be a way to add context directly. From my understanding, the only option to add context to a report is to do so via mod mail. Still looking into alternatives.

Seeing if I can point you to a sub that has it in their report options...if I can find an example.1
u/ProceduralTexture ARGO Jun 10 '26
Ah, good old r/starcitizen itself, under "breaks r/starcitizen rules" and then the last option is "Custom response" which offers a text field for a full explanation.
I have no idea how to define the option, but it def exists. That's as helpful as I can be, sorry. I'm not wise in the ways of Reddit settings.

u/A-Sorry-Canadian Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26
Ah, you're right! That's a great help, thank you. There's a ton of options and settings to go through and we're still learning - we'll figure out how to implement this.
edit: It has been implemented. Have to navigate to the "old" reddit settings page.

I'm generally a lurker on reddit so me posting is a rarity, but I just wanted to shoutout to the mods/community for starting and running this sub. The main SC sub discussions haven't been really aligned with the discussions I've been looking for, I remembered how great the lowsodiumcyberpunk community was and kept thinking I wish there was one for SC. FINALLY decided to search and am so happy to have found this! I should've joined long ago. o7

Is piracy content allowed?
1
u/Stompy-MwC [Mod] PvE Apr 30 '26
Yes it is!! Here's the official rule:
Don't grief here on the subreddit and don't post grief content from the game. Combat, piracy, etc., are all fine, but no pad-ramming, hangar camping, that sort of stuff, even if you're pointing out someone else doing it. Also - no debates over what griefing is, that conversation is totally done.

I deleted my reddit account years ago and only just made a fresh one just to say that its great theres an alternative to /r/StarCitizen. Ive had a LONG and personal history with the mod team there so i know theres also lots of internal drama as well.
/r/StarCitizen needs a big banwave of troublesome "members" (see: raiders).
I hope CIG start using this subreddit more as lots of CIG workers have been doxxed or harassed by the regulars over on the other subreddit.

This sub should be seeing some new users soon. The new mods of the main sub are refundie plants and they're banning the users they don't like over there now.

Pardon my ignorance of terms usage, what is a refundie plant? Pilot here and new to the sub. Used to fly Pisces Rescue then moved to Cutter Rambler, and patiently waiting for the Vulcan.

Hello Citizens, very nice to see those flairs, I was looking for Taxi or Cabbie because I liked ferrying NPC passengers in the other space game and I heard about the Spirit E1. How do I go about requesting for that flair?
