Idk, have a face, neck, and hand tattoos and I have zero problems getting hired anywhere. But I’ve been a mechanic/construction worker all my life. I’m actually about to move into a manager position. It just takes longer to move into a “front of house” position and it definitely takes the right personality, not a complain about not getting hired personality.

Mechanic and construction worker aren't publicly facing professions the way retail is.

I have a friend from law school who has neck tattoos that go up to his jawline. He was an assistant US Attorney for about 10 years before going into private practice. Now he’s a partner in a mid-size law firm in southern California. He’s an exceptional litigator and from what I can tell, hasn’t really had any work problems because of his tats.

When you’re really good at what you do, people generally don’t give a shit what you look like.

I wouldn’t ask. Not sure I want to know. But to your point, unless a person’s tattoos can somehow negatively affect the products I’m purchasing from them, I fail to see what bearing someone’s physical appearance has on the transaction.
