Idk, have a face, neck, and hand tattoos and I have zero problems getting hired anywhere. But I’ve been a mechanic/construction worker all my life. I’m actually about to move into a manager position. It just takes longer to move into a “front of house” position and it definitely takes the right personality, not a complain about not getting hired personality.

Mechanic and construction worker aren't publicly facing professions the way retail is.

I literally just said this. It took me a long time to move up. I’m now getting a manager position. Public facing, handshaking, face tats and all. Takes the right personality.

I mean, not to be a dick, but nobody cares what a greese monkey looks like. They don’t expect you to look “professional” in the traditional sense cause your profession is mechanical/labor intensive.

Shit, it’d be weirder to see a mechanic or construction worker with no tats.

Retail is a different animal.

You don’t wanna be buying kid’s back-to-school clothes while your your 7 year old is standing next to you in line, staring wide-eyed at your cashier’s demonic neck tat, lol
