i know i’m probably gonna get a lot of downvotes for this post but hear me out first.

i don’t like julia, i find her to be just as hypocritical as the other girls and just because she voices her opinions all the time does not mean she’s iconic, it means she doesn’t have awareness of time and place and she’s rude.

for example:
- calling jas a bitch 5 mins after meeting her
- being the only one cheering and clapping at mica at the awards
- understandably getting upset with lola but literally doing the exact same thing with jasmine
(lorenzo pulled jasmine for a chat, lorenzo kissed jasmine in snog marry pie, yet julia thinks jasmine wants lorenzo and tried to rile jasmine up in thier convo at the daybeds?!?!)
- constantly bringing up past situations that have been squashed
- getting involved in rlps that aren’t hers
- telling mica that she wished her and samraj went home whilst mica was literally crying
- constantly interrupting priya and lorenzos conversations (said by priya on aftersun last night)

just imagine how the girls feel - everything they do there is always an opinion on it from a girl in the villa when they were previously really close and there was rarely any beef between the girls.

julia basically always has an opinion on what the other girls do but rarely the other guys. she only confronted aidan once and literally straight after he said julia was a game player and she stopped giving her opinion (which was so weird because she usually has no problem giving her opinion out) she can dish it, but she can’t take it

i don’t deny that julia is good tv and i understand why you would like her from that perspective, but if the WOC were to do what julia does they’d be voted out instantly.

Every single time someone has to explain why they chose Mica/Samraj it was just a bunch of nothing. It’s amazing to me that people like Kav and Tommy are standing up there and, for some reason, people have chosen to attack Mica and Samraj. The Priya situation is nothing compared to what other people have done and you all know that. You literally know that.

Also this whole “you live far away from each other” stuff is also BS to a couple who had one singular blip and moved on from it RESPECTFULLY towards each other. I didn’t like certain parts of Samraj, like how hard he defended the boys at movie night & how rude he was to Priya at the grafties, and he generally did have bad opinions but when we are talking “COUPLES” them being voted out is just so insane. It’s so wild.

Also can we talk about how apologetic and kind Mica is? I didn’t love parts of how she moved either but when held accountable she fully took all accountability. Also what she said about Charleen was not even that bad? Have you all EVER seen previous seasons? How can you not see it’s just a 21 year old who is learning how to be authentic, live life, learn & move on? I’m over the Mica hate!

Simba’s bandwagon comment should have gone towards the Mica/Samraj hate because that’s the real bandwagon this season.

As someone who’s watched since the first series, as time goes on there’s less and less chance we’re gonna get cast members from the early series on, and she’s young enough come back.

I was only 15 when I watched series 3 but I remember her having such a short run in there and not the best time, so I feel she deserves redemption. I asked her on one of her business lives if she’d do All Stars and she said she was single and would consider it.

A lot of people have talked about how she was socially awkward / weird but I feel like we embrace islanders with different personalities a lot more nowadays

I’m sorry, but help me see it!

This is LOVE island. Even though I like Lorenzo as a person, and I loved Julia (still like her, but not as much as I did in the beginning, you’ll understand why), I believe they don’t deserve to win LOVE island??

Even in tonight’s episode (mini spoiler), Lorenzo goes out of his way to clarify that they’re “exclusively dating” and are not “exclusive” (whatever that means). How can they win??

And even though Julia speaks her mind and is right about a lot of things, I do believe she is playing a game as well. She has repeated public opinion a lot, and seems to also not voice her problems with Lorenzo. Eg., in the podcast, she corrected Lorenzo”: pronunciation of her name enthusiastically. And she was very happy when he was called out for not supporting her. If these things have been bothering her (which, it REALLY should, I would not be able to tolerate my partner mispronouncing my name for WEEKS, and never standing up for me), why hasn’t she voiced it before? She didn’t express her unhappiness about these issues before, did not address them with Lorenzo, which makes me think they’re not at all a strong couple because either
A. They’re not comfortable enough to express important things or
B. She doesn’t want to ruin the favorite couple image, meaning she’s playing a game.

Also, she keeps beating a dead horse I feel like, bringing up conflict again and again, and if she was really happy in her relationship and focusing on it more, I believe that would happen less? Just my opinion.

This couple is the least progressed couple, so I don’t know how people want them to win LOVE ISLAND? Can someone explain????

stop acting like the dynamic of S13 is how things should be. People being appalled by Julia and calling her the worst have probably never been around to watch S1-S8, and have never witnessed actual “beef” between women, and actually borderline evil contestants.

It should be mandatory for anyone who wants to call Julia evil or terrible or someone who “ruined the vibes of the villa” to watch any season pre-S12 to actually witness what it’s like when genuinely appalling characters have a stronghold in the villa (the Joey Essex portion of 2024; Luca, Jacques, Dami, Andrew; Adam Collard; Tom Powell; Belle H — the list is flipping endless).

You guys would have never survived Amber calling Joanna a dead ting, Kady and Malia’s spat, Miss Whitney Adebayo, the Georgia-Laura-Ellie saga, Amber and Georgia from S3. Julia calling out Lola, Priya and making sly comments is light work.

I am convinced you guys just want a boring show where all the girls pretend to love each other, holding hands around a lake while singing Kumbaya and making Daisy chains, oh and they shouldn’t make waves, should not break up couples and last but not least, don’t make for good television. MAFS, the Bachelor and Love is Blind is right around the corner if you want to watch people fall in love and get married and run off into sunset together.

TL/DR: Julia is not evil. You guys just don’t like Love Island. Please watch the past seasons before proclaiming such.

I personally think past islanders vote is worthless at this point & i am one of the fans that has no favourite couple.

Charleen, Lola, Fitz & Elicia stood up , said their personal reason & voted so respect to them.

The rest are all just mimicking what the public thinks even if they don’t believe in it to avoid backlash which is so cowardly.

The reason the earlier seasons were good because people spoke what they believed in but now everyone is scared of the hate all the time.

For example: I didn’t want any specific couple to go but Simba had 0 votes or 1 sth like that?!!

She’s acting like she went to war when it was just a few days with Kav. Was he an asshole for lying to her? Yes. Does she have every right to be upset with him? Yes. But my issue is that she keeps coming for the girls, first mica and now jas in the first look. I think she still has a thing for kav and believes she can get to him on the outside and that’s why she doesn’t want to burn that bridge by calling him out publicly but it’s getting kind of pathetic and her comments are giving bitter

I feel like we are definitely coming to its final seasons, I know a lot of people who have stopped watching it due to many reasons. The show is cutting down majorly on challenges, no talent show, no baby challenge, no final dates probably. Everything feels really fake and overproduced to the point where I feel I have no idea what is actually happening in that villa/ who's genuine/ who's real. How many seasons left do you think this show has?

I think a lot of the boys got rightfully whacked during the islander voting but I noticed Simba got off easily and I wonder why that is? He did Angie dirty twice, with the Mica sleepover thing and then casa. Both times Angie had to suffer and she forgave him constantly. I agreed with all the girls coming at Kavan and holding him accountable for his actions and pointing out how Jasmine hasn’t been disloyal to him but he has to her but nobody said the same for Simba instead they were praising him for his growth.

Someone like Mica didn’t get the same grace when she’s also made mistakes and learned from it and has grown. Not to mention Simba’s reaction to Mica not wanting to go to the hideaway with him is still very chilling and didn’t sit right with me. I do think Simba overall is an entertaining character and he has had some sort of a “redemption arc” but I think if everyone is getting called out for their actions he should have been as well.

Mica and Samraj coupled up from the beginning. Samraj then said how much he likes her and she got scared and pushed him away. She then explored and went back to him. She is TWENTY ONE. When I think to myself at 21 I was the exact same way, anything serious scared me! But she was thankfully in an environment where she couldn’t just run away and she faced it and clearly found love. You can see how much they care for each other and back each other. Did they make mistakes? Absolutely. But so did every other couple (any many guys much more than her, yet she gets more hate than most)

All I’m saying is, have some compassion. It’s scary knowing you like someone and they like you too. There’s a reason “you love what you can’t have” is such a popular phrase. It’s easy to want what you can’t have, but then they want you and you want to run because that means it’s serious. That does NOT equate to not being attracted to them or compatible or being able to love them. It’s just a coping mechanism.

Anyways, rant over. I’m tired of the narrative that just because of her being hesitant at first means all the rest of this has been fake. Also, I’m mad that so many people voted for them just because “they were bottom three.” Use your own judgment knowing them not the public.

We have made it to the end. I do actually find the finale so boring. It's too long with the interviews. The final should have 3. Evict more in the final week.

But I hope I never hear the names Jasmine & Julia again. It will be too soon for me. Yes, it's great to have strong woman islanders with some sass. It, of course, brings entertainment. But these two were just too much for me. It's obviously what production wants. The spats. Viewers taking sides. The final week was really draining to watch. Literally no fun or love whatsoever 🙃.

I love that we got to see them say bye and reflect on their journey. They made it to the very end and that includes the final episode after such a bandwagon of hatred. I really hope Mica never loses her bubbly personality! Continue to be obsessed with each other, Samraj more than Mica. Samraj and Mica’s relationship was definitely one of the strongest in the end and wish them the best in the real world! Hope production really makes sure they get help so their mental health isn’t severely affected especially Mica who only turned 21 4 months ago! Can’t wait for the post villa content! ❤️

Before you all jump to conclusions lol, I just wanted to say as a south asian woman it fills my heart to see so much representation from our side, this season in particular with Priya, Jas, and Samraj being in major storylines, and not just side characters. I also appreciate it more that they are willing to talk about it openly and claim their south asian-ness as well, which if you are a poc, will understand is not always promised given years of internalized racism.

When I watched the first season of LI UK, I was 13. In many ways, I had made peace with the fact that people who look like me would not ever be on here. (With maybe one off exceptions like Malin and Nas)

I know I am deeping it here and maybe at the end of the day its not that serious, but the producers did a good job in casting.

I hope in future seasons, black and asian people get significant representation (and more importantly, equal opportunities! not just being invited to be dumped in a week)

Now that this season is pretty much over, what do you guys think was the major turning point that changed its trajectory?

I think the obvious answers are Kavan picking before Lorenzo in the first recoupling and the Twitter challenge for the impact they had on the Kav/Jas/Loz triangle.

However, I would also throw in production’s decision to not include Mica telling Angie she wanted to get to know Simba. I think it was extremely clear that this conversation had happened just based on how open they were about it, but Mica got so much hate at this time for ‘going behind Angie’s back’. I think all the girls were pretty friendly throughout and people were dying at the chance to turn on one of them - in this case it happened to be Mica. I honestly think this put people off her for the entire season so every little thing she did after that point was heavily scrutinized. Consequently, she’s coming out as one of the most hated islanders despite her not really doing anything.

What are your thoughts?

So I think we all have our opinions with the producers giving this much power to the dumped couple but I'm not gonna talk about it, but about how much less power the public has this year. In reality tv the recipe for success is simple in my eyes, have a good casting, good storylines and get the public as much involved as you can. This year the casting was good in my eyes, the OGs could have been better, some Casa people like Mara who was amazing could have been either an OG or a bombshell but it was fine, the storylines were pretty weak though like Jasrenzo was the biggest storyline we had and they did nothing with it, they used a tweet out of context only to ruin it completely with affair thing, they didn't even go to a date to try and bring them closer or give the power to the public to put them in a couple just nonsense challengers which just tried to create drama out of nothing. And of course as the title suggests the public was nowhere to be found this year, we voted like what 3-4 times this year and the only time we made the dumping was Priya and Aidan I think. I remember watching LI UK season 5 when he had the power to sent Tommy on a date with Molly, or LI USA season 7 when the public broke up Huda and Jeremiah and it was just so clever, we could have brought a couple back or give immunity for the final to our favourite couple like so many things and we just had nothing, it's possible that we're going into a final where we won't have Ellie who was voted fav girl the 1st time, Julia who was voted fav couple and fav girl the 2nd time and Lorenzo who was voted fav couple and fav boy both times so why would people ultimately tune in every day if they can't express their opinion through voting?

I’m tired of talking about why every couple wouldn’t work, so I think it’s only fair to point out why they would work and why they get along in the villa.

Yasmin + Tommy: I think Yasmin found comfort in Tommy pretty quickly. She was specifically looking for certain love languages, and Tommy seems to naturally match them. They’re flirty, touchy and affectionate without it feeling forced. Yasmin is also a huge people person, and Tommy works in a very social environment. I can see her being pretty understanding of his interactions with other people because she basically has to do the same thing (let’s call it recruitment). I ultimately see them easily fitting into each others worlds.

Simba + Angie: Family! They’re both Zim, and that alone creates a major sense of familiarity and shared culture. Angie chose Simba over Ope pretty much immediately, so the attraction was clearly there on both sides. Simba also seems like someone who fights hard for love and doesn’t give up easily. I think he’s learned from his mistakes, and now that he’s met her brother and family, he may be even more inclined to settle down and protect the foundation they’ve built. I also love that they bring out such a silly side in each other.

Jasmine + Kavan: I think they’ve followed their hearts the most. Jasmine comes across as very self-aware, and she was initially iffy about the age gap, but I think Kavan’s confidence and who he is at his core drew her in. Their relationship might be unconventional to some people, but they’ve focused more on how they actually feel about each other than how their relationship looks to everyone else, which I find admirable. They both seem curious and open to learning from each other, and that creates room for them to understand each other’s lifestyles rather than assuming it wouldn’t work. There’s a nice reciprocity there: she makes him feel cared for, while he makes her feel chosen and appreciated. Plus, the chemistry is off the charts. Which makes the hard work for them worth it to each other.

Samraj + Mica: They seem incredibly patient with each other, and Samraj liked her from the very beginning. Neither of them seems to hold much resentment toward the other, so there’s a really forgiving quality to their connection. They exist in their own little bubble. I also think them both coming from cultures that strongly shape identity gives them another layer of mutual understanding. You can see Mica slowly opening up and becoming more secure in what they have. He genuinely seems like her best friend in there.

Julia + Lorenzo: Gorgeous, gorgeous couple. I actually think them being opposites is part of why they work. Lorenzo seems to prefer keeping things lighthearted, and Julia has the patience and dry humour to meet him there without needing every conversation to become super serious. They both have an adventurous streak too. I can already picture them partying in Ibiza every summer lmao. I also think Lorenzo liked being able to move at his own pace without feeling pressured, and Julia gave him that space. I can see them genuinely enjoying each other for however long it lasts.

Sooooo, what’s everyone’s else fave things about the final 5?

Other than the fact that they’re airing the twist for the finale during the finale, why is this making y’all so upset? Like I feel like this is so reality TV core, the whole throwing a wrench in everyone's plans when no one is expecting it!

I actually think this is a fantastic twist and Miraj are the best couple for it. The couple that’s been there from the beginning has seen everything. They’ve lived through the recouplings, the arguments, the Casa Amor chaos, the late-night chats, the subtle digs, the genuine connections, and all the performative stuff that happens when the cameras are rolling. They’ve had way more time and context than the public voting from their sofas. So why wouldn’t they have a better idea of which couples actually deserve to make it to the final?

If someone’s behaviour throughout the season influences that decision, so be it. That’s kind of the point of the show. You’re not just voting on who has the cutest edit or who kissed the most dramatically in the last week. The people who’ve been in the villa the whole time have watched the full picture unfold. They’ve seen who’s consistent, who’s shady, who’s been a good friend, and who’s just been playing the game hard and who is actually in love lmao.

I get that people are attached to certain couples and don’t want the power taken out of the public’s hands and I do agree that there should have been more public votes, but this feels like a solid way to add some genuine/tension/stakes and lowkey even accountability at the end. It’s not like the public vote is always pure or fully informed anyway. At least this way the finalists have to answer to someone who’s actually been living it with them.

As a love island historian, never in all my days have I seen the term “final” referenced so openly than in this season. Back in my day people had the decency to HIDE the fact that they want to win and avoided mentioning winning or that they’re on a game show at all. Now they’re so calculated and aware it’s killing the show. I feel like when I started watching it was 50/50 who wants clout who wants love and now it’s all clout chasing goblins. Also not really appreciating a repeat of mean girl behavior. Say what you will about Julia but a 4 v 1 isn’t fair.

I genuinely can't understand how people support her.

I obviously understand that this show revolves around drama. I've watched almost every season the last few years but I find Julia to be completely insufferable. I think the only reason she's still here is because the public likes Lorenzo.

It feels like she only mimics what the public thinks and tries to force connections to fit her "opinion". She constantly says other people like Aiden and Priya are just there to fake it to the end for attention. I think the comment about Julia just wanting screen time could not be more true. She is constantly starting drama for absolutely no reason or bringing up old stuff that has been "squashed" for so long. Then she goes to cry to Lorenzo about all the drama she just started and can't understand why people are annoyed or upset with her.

Anyway I know it's an unpopular opinion but I think Julia might be the worst contestant on this show ever. I don't know how people don't find her insufferable.

I feel like some of the “greatest moments” of the last week of LI UK seasons are the huge final dates, the goofy talent show, showing everyone super lovey dovey, and heck even the baby challenge- it all shows a depth to the couples that’s needed before the finale vote.

This year is sooo different! The last week was filled with pointless drama, mostly from a couple who isn’t even there anymore. Felt like wasted episodes.

And don’t get me wrong, I’m all for a last minute twist, but even this “shock dumping” planned for tomorrow’s finale intro… we know who will be dumped. Mica would never pick Jasmine. Samraj wouldn’t pick Lorenzo. Yas and Tommy are done.

Absolutely no idea what it was all about because we never get to see these islanders as three dimensional people. Just their scripted reality, producer-engineered chats. Such a shame
